Avocado Arts~book sack!!!

Hi guys~this is my second project working with the Spring Medley set by Avocado Arts!!! I had such a creative time with these stamps.  The book bag is made from burlap.  All you need to do is cut the burlap the size you want to fit the book or other "treat".  I hot glued mine together on two sides but would have sewed if my machine had been working right:):)

I decorated a manilla tag using the awesome Spring Medley set.  This set has flowers that can be stacked, leaves that can be stacked and the "peeps"!!! Love those!!!  I added a button with a lapel pin on the back and some green spring twine!!!  For more inspiration check out the Pit Crew girls~

Avocado Arts~Spring Medley!!

Hi guys~this is my first blog post for Avocado Arts and what fun I have had using the March release called Spring Medley!!!  I decided to make a lapel pin using the big rabbit in the set.  I stamped the rabbit on sticky back canvas and used water colors to color in the image.

I then cut the rabbit out and stuck it to the back of some pretty "springy" paper and then cut it all.
The flower cluster is done the same way.  I hot glued it all together and added a charm to dangle.

Here is how the back looks with the pin~

This is a fun set and all kinds of "pretties" can be made !! Stay tuned for tomorrow~ another idea coming your way!!!!
You want more, check out the Pit Crew~
See ya soon~

Vintage Street Market ~ February's work!!

Hi guys~I'm up over on Vintage Street Market's blog today.  I did this layout using the Family Fun paper, Bingo Craft cards, Twirly Twine, Tinted Tape and ephemera!! All of these products can be found HERE. The cardstock is stamped using a  stencil.  The ephemera ( a page out of a children's work book) was cut in strips and layered on the cardstock, creating the background.

Here is a sneak of the second one. I used the same supplies!!! You can go HERE to see the completed layout.  Check out the weekly vintage deal ~ super cool!  Lots of vintage goodies all in a  kit, ready to create with and at a great price too!!

Gone junkin'~

Hi guys~what a find in these Dennison labels ( all in a baggy for $3).
When I use these I will back them with cardstock and cut them out.  Some of them are stained but remove those and brand new pretty labels underneath!!!

The printer's block was $12. **gasp** I know way too much but if you want it you better get it.  Thinking of the perfect thing to do with this.  The large safety pin ( locker pin) was $5. and the small oil can I had found many years ago and my dad wanted it so I gave it to him and when I was home this last time, mom gave it back.  Isn't it the cutest.

I'm guessing here~but I think this was some kind of mail sorter for a desk.  I paid $15 and thought it would look fabulous on my work table~sorting my photos and keeping them in order.

I think I'm getting really picky because I just haven't had much junkin' luck the last few times I've gone.  I'll have to work on that.

Try it Tuesday~hymnal make over!

Hi guys~this post is all about the"hymnals"!  My dad's hymnal collection~
This could easily  be a Remember This post but it is Tuesday after all:):):)  This is some vintage twine or heavy thread ~loved the look on the hymnal!!

I needed a base to hold my embellishments because I do not want to mess up the front cover of the hymnal.  The cover is gorgeous "plain" to me.  I cut the Prima card in half and that is what will hold my embellishments.

I weaved the card, in and out, under the thread ~ secured it to the hymnal with two large glue dots (on the spine)~so no damage to the cover.

Started layering embellishments ( most is hot glued on). Title: "His Eye is On the Sparrow". Typed it out and then used the label stamp by Jenni Bowlin to complete the look. The heart is by Avocado Arts.
I wrote a note and put it inside the Maya Road envelope and glued it to the Prima card.

Finished~it will look great on my coffee table!!!

You may see some more hymnal make-overs~I have several more!!! Thanks for stopping by and see ya soon!!

I "heart" cookie cutters ~ many junkin' trips!!!

I have been collecting for as long as I can remember.  This is my vintage cookie cutters.  I have used them for all sorts of decorating but the way I like them the best is in an old enamelware pan, all together!!! The ones with the homespun material tied on have been on my Christmas tree.  I have even put a photo in one and made into a frame. You can see that HERE~

These are some heart "cutter" sets.  The brown lid set I bought when my boys were small. the date is still on the price tag~1984 :):) makes me smile!!!!

Remember this~junkin' post!!!!

Hi guys~I've had Internet problems of the worst kind~hopefully it is fixed!!!!
I picked these pieces up in different places and at different times. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but I did want to make a cloche.  Not sure if the glass dome is a candle holder but I turned it upside down and glued ( Helmar's Craft Glue) a vintage drawer pull to the top~making it a cloche!!

The pottery dish I found in Indiana at a resale shop. Love the blue floral pattern.  The pool ball showcasing my favorite number "5" is sitting on a small birds nest I found blowing around in our yard.  It fit perfect in the bottom of the pottery bowl!

Sweet!!!!
