My Salvaged Treasures~thank you!

Hi guys!
Did you see this on Facebook August of last year?  I saw it but it didn't sink in
that it was a feature :) ~ If you love re-purposed, vintage finds, you
need to check out My Salvaged Treasures.
Betsy has it going on~

It started with this bucket, that I had given my dad, years ago (mom gave it back),
so I decided to paint it and use it for magazines.

Thank you Betsy for the feature.  Love your blog and your eye candy.  Did I mention
 she has an Etsy too!
Check her out~

Try It Tuesday~ Burlap pins!

Hi guys!
Time for Try It Tuesday~
I have made these burlap pins before, but I really love arranging embellishments into
something pretty:) so I made them again.  This time they were for a school fundraiser.
BTW~ they look awesome on a denim shirt !

The burlap flower is by Canvas Corp.  Other embellishments are by
 Maya Road and Prima.

Mostly Maya Road and Prima on these two.  I think they make the
best embellishments for this type of project.
Hot Glue to put them together!

When you make these, just use what you have~all of those bits & pieces
work great for this. Just tuck them in to make a cluster!

I'm working on a really fun project, so see ya
next Tuesday~should be ready by then:)
I also did some scrapbooking, really!!!
See ya soon~

Clear Scraps~acrylic boxes!!!

Hi guys!
This is one of my favorite new product from Clear Scraps.  The acrylic boxes!  They come in several sizes and they are stunning.  Here's what I did with the small one~

I put a, sweet little, bird nest in the acrylic box and added
 very little embellishments.
I wanted the acrylic to SHINE!!!

The boxes come flat and you snap them together with a little wet adhesive.
Not a problem to assemble at all.  Beautiful !!!

Clear Scraps and Snowflakes!!

Hi guys!
I have a fun project to share with you using the large 12 x 12 Nordic Snowflake
stencil from Clear Scraps.

The pillow blank is by Canvas Corp.  I used acrylic white paint with a round
small sponge brush to apply the paint to the pillow.  The paint dried fast so it was easy to keep moving with the stencil.

I sewed a vintage button in the center on the Snowflakes.  The burlap bow is removable.
The Clear Scraps stencil washes up great.  Just soak it, for a few minutes, in soapy water and the paint peels right off.

Clear Scraps has a bunch of brand new stencils released at CHA 2015~
you can find them in the store.

Try It Tuesday~save those boxes!!

Hi guys!!
Save those boxes, you know the ones that are super cute or have bright colors~ yes those!
Here is what I did  with a stack of them I had been hanging on to~

I cut them up and made some little 4 X 4 notebooks.

I have made these before but I sure would rather have these little notebooks in the
closet instead of the stack of boxes!!! Great little gifts too!! And did I mention~easy!!!!!

These are going to a fundraiser!!!

I put old pattern paper in this one :) ~
Great notepaper :)
You can also use the rings to hold the notebooks together.
Try it!!!!!

Darkroom Door~sticks, make a pretty!!!

Hi, guys!!!
Hope you had a fun weekend!
I have a project to share you and hang from your door knob, using the Carved Leaves Vol 2 Rubber Stamps Set and Robin Eclectic Stamp. These projects could be used as key chains too!! Not hard to make but so fun!

I took some sticks from the yard and tied them together to make a base for the Carved Leaves and Robin to sit. The leaves are embossed and the Robin is stamped with Archival Ink.  After the images are cut out, arrange them on the sticks.

I used hot glue to adhere the Leaves and the Robin. Goes really fast once you have it laid
 out like you want it.

Supplies Used:
Darkroom Door Robin Eclectic Stamp
Darkroom Door Carved Leaves Vol 2 Rubber Stamp Set
Ranger Archival Ink
Embossing Powder: Ranger
Other: twigs, nuts, berries, twine, old keys.

Clear Scraps~Family Word Board!

Hi!!
I have one of my projects I did for Clear Scraps, that went to CHA 2015, to share.  This project will be on the Clear Scraps label, when you buy the Family Word Board.
So excited about that!!!!

Instructions:
1. Cover the back chipboard with old newsprint using Fast Finish Decoupage by Beacon.

2. Let dry.
3. Sand edges of cardboard with sanding block, to remove any over hang of newsprint.
4. Leaving the plastic cover ON the acrylic, lay the acrylic (Family Frame) on the covered newsprint and use it like a stencil.  I used a flat sponge type applicator and black acrylic paint to shade in the word FAMILY and the ovals.
5. When the paint is dry, remove the plastic covering on both sides and you will have a clean, sharp line on the word and ovals.
6. You are ready to decorate each oval or add photographs.
7. I framed the complete project, treating the acrylic word frame as if it were glass.
Perfect fit in a 11 x 16 frame.  I speckled the frame with white paint for a snow effect.
Another great new product from Clear Scraps!  Check out the "What's New" page to see all the new products from Clear Scraps!
