From the past~vintage items!

Hi guys!
I have some really cool, really vintage things to show you.
These were gifted to me.  They have been extremely well taken care of and look
amazing for the age that they are.  First up~

Coffee Grinder
from Manchester, Iowa
1920's - 1950's

Next up~

Coal Bucket and Shovel
I don't have any information on this other than it is from Iowa also.
Isn't it gorgeous!

Next up~

Western Stoneware from Iowa.  Not sure what it held if anything.
The leaf stamp gives me impression it was for maple syrup.

A small child or baby wash tub.  From Iowa also.  The is heavy
 and a really nice piece.

Chamber pot~used at night when you needed to go to the bathroom and you didn't want to go outside to the outhouse.  Will make a great slop bucket for scraps for the animals!

Hope you enjoyed these items from our American past~
I will share more soon.

Paisley Layer Stencil ~ Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a tag using the new Paisley Stencil that has layers.  You can go crazy adding the layers while having tons of fun.

Paisley overlay_c.mercer

I created a step out of how the tag was created.

Jan tag

I started with StazOn inks,  picked colors that looked good together.
I used a chipboard tag by Clear Scraps and applied Gesso to it.  Let it dry.
I applied the ink with a makeup sponge.   Start with the open images.
After you have your images stenciled on the chipboard tag, in random places, add the line work over the images.
To add color to the chipboard word "create" ~ use the StazOn ink with the same applicator.
Easy and fun!!!

Try It Tuesday ~ two kinds of shakers!!

Hi guys!
Thanks for the visit today.
You know I love vintage and love using old things,in a way, that I can
enjoy them and having a purpose is good too.

I was given these and thought they would be amazing (yes, amazing) filled with
sequins and micro beads.  This is my storage for them at present~

none!!!!

The micro beads and sequins are fun to put inside the ****new shakers**** by Clear Scraps.
You will be seeing lots of examples on Clear Scraps and my blog so stay tuned.
I love shakers ~all kinds!!

These are really fun to create with and the vintage salt and pepper shakers hold the micro beads and sequins so they pour easily into the chipboard shaker, before adhering the acrylic top.
Check them out

Have a great day!!!

Club Q January kit from Quick Quotes ~

Hi, Connie here with a couple of scrapbook pages using the Club Q January kit by Quick Quotes.   The pages go together and tell a story of Jeremy playing in the snow. He is only 2 years old so he hasn't played in the snow very much.

Designer tip:
Use the negative from the snowflake die cut sheet, that comes in the kit, as a stencil. Use Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink for color.  Coconut white is a great looking color to use for the snowflake.

Doing that technique also adds design and color to the solid turquoise papers in the Club Q kit.
The chipboard year is also colored with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink.  So easy and adds great coverage to the chipboard piece.

Quick Quotes products:
Club Q kit/January
Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks: Midnight Confessions, Caribbean Blue, Coconut White and Aqua.

Hi, Connie here with a cute mini album that would work great for a birthday gift.   I used the Cutie Mixable and the Cupcake Shaker by Clear Scraps,  to create a birthday album.

I did a step by step to show you how the mini was created ~

Cupcake shaker_clear scraps_c.mercer

Supplies needed: Cutie/mixable by Clear Scraps, Binder pages 5 X 7 (chipboard), Beacon 3-IN-1, pattern paper,  Cupcake Shaker by Clear Scraps and rhinestones (filler for the shaker).
Cover the bottom part of the chipboard Cupcake with pattern paper.
Cover the top part of the Cupcake with a different pattern of paper and cut it out.
Adhere both parts, top and bottom to chipboard. Let dry.
The Shaker part of the Cupcake comes with three top chipboard pieces.  Glue one on the top of the cupcake.  Sandwich the acrylic in between the the second and third piece of the top chipboard. Add rhinestones (or filler) to the first one you glued to the covered chipboard top.  Glue the sandwich piece to the first one, covering the rhinestone (filler).
Paint or ink the chipboard part of the top of the Cupcake.  Decorate.

Word Album with Creating Made Easy/Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here with a "Winter" Word Book Album from the Creating Made Easy January kit by Clear Scraps.  It is a mixable so the book comes with acrylic pages and chipboard pages. I love the acrylic look, so I rarely alter it.  I did add paint splats to this one~

Clear Scraps_word book_CME kit_c.mercer
I have a tutorial showing how the chipboard pages were covered with paper from
the kit. Take a look~

Clear scraps_word book_CME kit_tutorial_c.mercer
A X-Acto knife was used to trim the ends of the pattern paper, to fit to the chipboard pages.  Then the paper was adhered to the chipboard page.  The edges were sanded, so there was no over hang of the paper. Then ink around the edges, if you like.

Take the plastic film off of the acrylic pages front and back.  You will have a rich glossy finish.
