Weekend full of hodge podge fun~

Hi everyone~it has been a crazy week. I have two of my grands and we have been busy doing "kid crafts".  I'm so glad they enjoy working with their hands.  The weekend before they came I had a crafting afternoon when I got home from church.  I thought I would share with you what I made~

This is a picture frame painted with acrylic paint and then crackled with Helmar's crackle medium.  I then made a thin paint wash and brushed it over the frame and then wiped it off, leaving the fabulous crackled finish.  I used Helmar 450 quick dry on the inside of the frame and stuffed the vintage material in the frame opening leaving a pocket to stuff ~ making the cushion for the pins.  The spoon was a last minute add on.  I sewed it on making a perfect place for extra buttons to land.

This is another version of a pin cushion. I used vintage tart tins I had come across junk'n.  I ran a line of glue { Helmar 450 quick dry} on one side and adhered the fabric with a clip ~ holding the fabric in place, then I did the other side.  The ends were the last to be glued on to the tin, leaving one open so I could put the stuffing inside ~ making the pin cushion.  Then I decorated with trims and buttons and adhered using Helmar 450 quick dry.  These were fun to make!!!

And last were these magnets made out of dominoes.  I inked them with Ranger alcohol ink and then stamped my image on with Stazon ink.  I backed them with felt and glued a magnet on with Helmar 450 quick dry.  I love crafting, it is in me!!! I will be on vacation next week but drop by I will be posting~ have a great day and see ya soon

Try it Tuesday~ Christmas in July!

Hi everyone~ I have my grands {three of them} for a few days and we have been crafting up a storm. They made t-shirts and all kinds of "kid art".  I even had them help me make an art apron ~ I'll be showing it soon~didn't get it photographed in time for this week.  So I decided to share a couple of layouts I did of last years Christmas.  I used Basic Grey /Figgy Pudding { one of my favorite} Christmas papers ever!! I used Helmar 450 quick Dry to glue the embellishments on.  Love how it came out and I love these pic's !!!

More Figgy Pudding and super cute pictures!!!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see ya soon!!

two more CHA projects for Epiphany Crafts~

OK ~ here we go , these are the last two of my projects that went to CHA {Craft and Hobby Association} with Epiphany Crafts.  This one is using the EC square bubble cap.   The paper is by October Afternoon.  Very cool making your own embellishments to match your layout!!

On this one, I used the EC square to make a mini banner across the journal spot. I used Cosmo Cricket / Mister Campy an older line but a favorite! The embellishments were glued on with Helmar 450 Quick Dry~ added some trim and some Jenni Bowlin and one last thing~

vintage milk caps!! After all, to do boy poses, you need your milk to get strong:)  Thank you Epiphany Crafts~ never in my wildest dreams would I have thought, this time last year, my creations would be in your booth at CHA!! You made my week~ See ya soon!

more CHA projects for Epiphany Crafts

Hi everyone ~ continuing on with my projects for Epiphany Crafts that are at CHA this week.  I used October Afternoon/5 & Dime on this, I thought it was perfect in every way!! Don't you love the head hug ** so sweet**  I used Epiphany Craft's bubble cap 25 round and the fabulous 25 oval bubble cap. The buttons were adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry.  The sketch, I used,  is by Shimelle.

On this one my focus was the handmade button cards using EC button studio 14 round.  The pockets are by Maya Road.  We have five "grands" and so I put one pocket for each "grand".  The layout was embellished with Primas and different trims.  I adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry. The pattern paper is by Crate Paper!  Here is another view with pictures peeking out of the pockets~

I have two more projects that went to Chicago with Epiphany Crafts ~ so stop back on Friday! Have a great Thursday and  See ya soon!

Try it Tuesday ~ Epiphany Crafts at CHA

Hi everyone~this week is CHA { Craft and Hobby Association} in Chicago ***sigh*** ~wish I was there BUT some of my work will be there and that is what I will be sharing with you this week!!

I used Cosmo Cricket pattern paper for the flowers. The big flowers were perfect~
The centers are from Epiphany Crafts round 14 round bubble cap. The crazy, cute oval is also Epiphany Crafts ~ looks kinda of shabby chic~don't you think?

This a vintage enamel lid ~ minus the pot.  The flowers are hand cut with detail scissors. I glued them on and used Helmar's Zapdots for dimension. The 14 round bubble cap is set inside the vintage setting Clubhouse.

Super cute project and enjoyed using Epiphany Crafts button studio for my custom, one of a kind, button.

This is a happy birthday card using the Epiphany Crafts Frayed Flowers and the 14 round buttons.  I cut the flowers in half  to make them look like watermelons~super cute!!!  The paper is Jillibean Soup.  It was glued down with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry!!

Here is a close~up of the jar of watermelon juice!!  Stick around this week for the rest of the Epiphany Crafts ~CHA projects.  Hope to see you!!

Hi everyone~happy to start sharing with you the work I did for CHA {Craft and Hobby Association}using Epiphany Craft's fabulous button studio's!!   This one of my projects that will displayed in Epiphany Craft's booth. The paper I used on this is from Cosmo Cricket.  I was lucky enough to use the Epiphany Craft's oval on this one.  It is one of my favorite shapes that they make. I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry to adhere buttons to the page.

This is my granddaughter's first driving lesson~so cute!! We only hit one tree!! In the above picture she has her foot on top of Grandy's foot, thinking she is giving it the gas, but everything is not as it seems! LOL!

Helmar and PSA Essentials~

Hi everyone~glad you are here!!!  This week Helmar is partnering with PSA Essentials.  I had such a good time working with their amazing stamping system.  Such a clever, crafty tool!!!
This is the layout I did using PSA Essentials and their stamps for my round embellishments.

I used Pink Paislee pattern paper along with American Crafts and Making Memories for the title work. The adorable little yellow heart button is by Epiphany Crafts ~ super cute!!
What a great system this is for invitations and card making, as well as scrapbooking.

I glued with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry and used Helmar's Zapdots for dimension. I hope you will visit Helmar and PSA Essentials blogs this week.  Tons of inspiration!!! Have a great week and see ya soon!!

Try it Tuesday~how about a wreath~

Hi guys!! Glad your here for Try it Tuesday!!! This wreath project has been in my head for sometime and ended up driving me CRAZY!!! It just never seemed right~ so I'm looking forward to seeing what you have to say~ so here we go ~ the original wreath

I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry {no wires~all glue}~worked awesome!!! The chipboard houses are no name from my stash.  I painted one with Jenni Bowlin {stick candy green}, covered one with old dictionary paper and the other old music paper.  Then the magic began ~ I used Helmar's Crackle Medium ~ all I can say is ~awesome!!!

This is a close~up of the one I covered in old dictionary paper and then added buttons on using Helmar's Acrylic Sealer ~I glued the buttons with this too!! Super cool stuff!!!
The funky zipper flowers are by Maya Road~the canvas ones too!  I used Glubers by Cosmo Cricket to make the zipper flowers!! Out of one pack of zippers I made these three flowers.  If I had rolled tighter, I would have gotten another one!!!

I did a couple of changes on this ~still not happy!!! and another change.....

This is how I left it~but I think I like the original the best!!! Crazy after all the million photos, I went back to my first creation.  If you would like to see more of the original wreath, head on over the Helmar's blog and you'll will see my blog post.  Thanks for staying with me on this and I look forward to your comments on this!!! *** Breaking news***  I will be creating for a new kit club called  The Paper Bakery ~ stop by and say hi to Sarah  and my very first post is up over at ScrapStreet Blog ~ would love for you to stop in.  Have a great day and i'll  see ya soon!
