Spooky shakers with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a cute idea using the shaker images as special Halloween treats.  These would work perfect for co-workers, teachers, friends and children.

Clear Scraps_shakers_Halloween_C. Mercer
These are easy to make and you can spooky them up or down.  Mine are more cute than spooky but your choice.  Assemble the shaker, using bright orange and purple papers. Remember to remove the plastic film, from the acrylic window shape, before adhering to the chipboard frame.  Fill with sequins and then, using a strong glue, create the shaker.  To make it a treat, tie a candy bar to the shaker image.  I used Hershey's Milk Chocolate bars.

Supplies needed:
Clear Scraps: Bat Shaker
Clear Scraps: Ghost Shaker
Beacon Adhesive
Pattern paper
Candy bar
Sequins, twine, buttons and stickers (boo)

Darkroom Door ~ Artist Pallette and Artist Brushes

Hi guys!!
I have some fun cards to share using Darkroom Door's Artist Palette
and Artist Brushes.  These are really fun to create especially if you love
art elements.  The brush set is a must have ~ so very creative!!!

The background is creating using Distress Oxides from Ranger.  Stamp the ink
out on your work mat and add water.  Run the card through the ink.  Let dry.

Same technique just very lightly. Used a water brush to paint in
color on the brushes. Speckled with ink.

This card the brush was painted and then cut out and then added to the card front.
Three different ways to use these two stamp sets.  Hope you will give it a try~

Try It Tuesday~Guadalupe County Fair 2018

Hi guys!!
I have the results of the Guadalupe County Fair to share with you.
I love entering the projects, I have created, for the company's that I work for.  It can
turn out good or bad :) Sometimes I agree with the judges and
sometimes I don't but it is still loads of fun. The Fair is struggling to find it's place
in 2018.  I love supporting this type of wholesome, family friendly activity.
I urge you all to participate in your local and or county fair.
Remember the Pumpkins with DecoArt ~

paint pouring, such a cool way to add color to pumpkins. Kinda of messy
 but I love the results!!

The top three photos are some vintage items that did very well this year!!!
Some of my favorite pieces .
The pop-up tent card / Karen Burniston pop-up dies and most of the projects
left are using Clear Scraps products and Darkroom Door (printer's tray used stamps as
embellishments).  I entered my hand carved stamps also.

Ghost Necklace with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a cute project using the small Ghost Pallet shape by Clear Scraps.   These small pallet shapes make fun and easy necklaces that children (and fun adults) will want to wear on Halloween night!!!

This is really an easy creative project.  Start by painting the ghost white.  Add the face with bright and different colors of paint.  I went with green for the eyes.  I used the spider web stencil, by Clear Scraps, and added it to the corner of the ghost pallet.  The chipboard bat is embossed and then adhered with a strong adhesive.  Next tie green twine around the ghost and add a orange button. Punch a hole in the top ( with the crop-a-dile) and add an "o" ring and then the chain.  Add a small piece of distressed fabric by the "o" ring.  Seal with a mat varnish and call it done and cute!!!

Tractor Time with Quick Quotes~

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the Secret Garden Collection by Quick Quotes.  The collection is full of bright and colorful paper designs, some bold and some soft.  I like the combination of both in a collection.

The photos are about a 3"x 3".  You can collage them on a 8" x 10" sheet of Canon Pro Platinum and print them out.  I used my Canon iP8720 printer for this.

The embellishments are created using stamps and Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink.

I stamped the images, on white cardstock, and then, using a Q-tip, colored in the images with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks.  Trim each image out and they are ready to add to your scrapbook page.

Layer papers in the center of your page, add the photos and then decorate with the stamped images.
Title your page.  The letter stickers are colored with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks.  Makes it so easy to have the color you need for your title.

Supplies used:
Quick Quotes: Secret Garden Collection (coming soon)
Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks: Kokomo, Midnight Confessions, Cool GrayFeather Gray
Lipstick, Buttercup and Cactus.
Canon Pro Platinum 8" X 10" photo paper
Canon iP8720 Printer
other:
Scrapbook Adhesives/foam squares
Joy Clair / Blessed Harvest

Try It Tuesday~Paint Pouring with DecoArt~Pumpkins!

Hi guys!
I have a project using the paint pour technique by DecoArt.  I started with three really
old plastic pumpkins from Wal-mart.  They have seen many fall seasons.
I had the idea to create the marble effect, on the pumpkins, that is so popular.
So I started with this ~

I had painted the pumpkins many times over the years.  They were all
different shades of orange.  Another reason I loved the paint pour idea!!

Instructions:
1. Prepare the area for the pour.
2. Choose paint colors, add to cups.
3. Add pouring medium (2:1 paint to pouring medium)
4. Stir each color with stick.
5. Combine each color into one cup.
6. Pour over object.

Designer note~
The top pumpkin has an undercoat of acrylic paint.  I found out the paint doesn't drip all the way down because it is a round object.  I ended using my hands, to add color from the paint that had dripped off, to the bottom of this pumpkin.  The second picture, the undercoat of paint, was painted on about 3/4 of the pumpkin~worked much better.  The pumkins dried for about 8 hours before the Top Coat was applied.

Hot glue was used to secure jute around the stems of the pumpkins.  I painted the Top Coat (instead of doing the pouring method) on with a soft brush. I wanted the bottom and underneath, of the pumpkin) covered also. Worked great!

Products used:
DecoArt Pouring Medium
DecoArt Top Coat
DecoArt acrylic paint
felt (bottom of pumpkins)
twine
hot glue

Robin bird card set with Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!!
I have some cards to share using Darkroom Door stamps.
These were sent in, for publication, before I knew the magazine was not
 going to continue.

This is a set of three cards, simply created on white cardstock.  The Polaroid stamp
is stamped on the card front. I love the #hash tags stamps by
Stampers Anonymous for the sentiment. The first card is a reverse stamping technique.
Easy to do~stamp the image on an acetate sheet and then transfer to the cardstock. The image is lighter in color, than the other two cards.  I wanted the Robin bird to be looking in all directions.

Supplies used:
Darkroom Door: Polaroid frame, Robin eclectic and Carved Leaves Vol.1
Stamper Anonymous: Tim Holtz #hashtags
Ink: Ranger Archival/Potting Soil, Jet Black, Leaf Green
Scrapbook Adhesives
Beacon (wet glue)
buttons, ric rack
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

I love to outline the images and add little pen strokes.  I use a fine
tip black Pigma Micron liner pen.  Works great!!!
