Junkin' ~ textile love!

Hi guys!
I have some more junkin' stuff to share and it is really good stuff :)
I love old textiles. I don't buy them very often because I'm kinda of picky.
I'm not a fancy type, I love plain and simple but pretty.

I found these pillow cases for $11.  They are in excellent condition.

These were $15.  Love the teal color and the lace. They are narrow pillow cases
so I will need to make custom pillows to fit.  They will be very pretty on my bed:)
(my hubby is gonna love more pillows on the bed, too)

I don't think the trim is really old but I really liked it.  I want to use it on
 a denim shirt.
$3.

I had a bunch of these doily's  but have shared them with blog friends.
They would make amazing flowers or pins for a shirt.
I still have a few to create with.

My dad's handkerchief.  Isn't it cute:)

Next week my work/craft room is being re-painted.  It has been kinda of crazy preparing for that.  I'll have lots of picture when I get it all put back together.
Thanks for stopping by~

Try It Tuesday ~ hands and " a winner"

Hi guys!
I have a crazy obsession with hands ~
I thought I would share that with you:)
Be careful, you might find yourself liking them too.
I like holding little hands too.

Didn't realize I had so many until hubby said something
about all the "hands" ~

I bought my first "hand" from Jenni Bowlin and never looked back.
I love displaying with them and hanging things I make on them.

Mostly I found them at antique stores.  I do have my price limit. I found a jadeite hand on our way back from Indiana last month and it was $50 ~ ugh, no thanks.

The fancy gold one from my mom :)

The double hand my latest find :)
I try not to like them but I do!!

Try It Tuesday~ more junkin' from Mom's house!

Hi guys!!!
I have really been busy getting all of my work done, so when #6 comes, I'm ready to hit the road.  I have some very cool things to show you~my mom has cool stuff:):) ~ so cool my sis and I bargain with each other
( you can have this if I can have that) that kinda of stuff:):)
So here we go more family treasures~

I'm starting with this because I adore it~I can just see it with a bird nest in it :):) No family history on this except it belonged in a collection of cups that were my Grandmother's.

Small stemware glasses.  They didn't get washed before the photo's took place, but they are clean and adorable now:):)  I think Mom just collected these because she liked small items ( I do too)

I was going to pass on this because I didn't have a vision as to what to do with it , but then Mom said, it was out of the house I was raised in so I brought it home with me.  It is gorgeous !!!  I'll get back with you on this~I will come up with something to bring it back to it's glory!!
Vintage Glass light fixture~cover for bulb:):)

More beauties!! Love these.   I have dishes that match the green depression glass and the other glass, the rim is silver.  It didn't get polished either:(:(
Lovelies~all of them!!!

Thanks for stopping by~
I don't know what the proper names for some of these items are, but I do know I love one of a kind, primitive and pretty:):)

Junkin' and inspired!

Hi guys!!!
A couple of weeks ago I found these small clip boards, about a 5" X 7" (apx.)
At first I thought about covering them with paper and them a saw a stand made out of
a 2x4 in Indiana.
Hubby and I came up with a Texas version~

The long groove is where the clip board goes, the
front groove is a worm hole:):)
And here is what it looks like~

It sits in the groove chiseled out. The wood is Texas Mesquite from the ranch.
The stand and tiles are from a scrabble game set!!!
Have a great weekend~
See ya soon~

Try It Tuesday~Stitched Christmas !

Hi everyone, Connie here with a card using "Stitched Christmas" by Darkroom Door~
the name alone had me hooked!!!

Love the trees and love the sentiments!!!
This is a 6" x 5" card.  I used Wendy Vecchi's new ink, called Fern green by Ranger.
I stamped out both tree images and put them in a little envelope and began to build my card around that.

This a "junkin' find and I used the "Stitched Christmas" set for the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by~

I have some fun junkin' stuff to show you.  Some of it was given to me and some it I bought.  I'll tell you what I know about them and then It will be your turn to link us up with your junkin' find, a re-purposed item, a vintage item, something you want to re-purpose but haven't yet~you get it? Something way "cool".  OK here's what I have in my waiting bin~

I think this is some kind of trim, maybe for a bed shirt~not sure, but I have something in mind for it.  This was given to me.  Found it in an old house being torn down.

This was a gift from  my mom~ It cost $7.95 brand new.  Not sure what she paid, not sure how I will use it yet.

Old sheet music~love the covers, yes, it was given to me.

These too, given to me.  Aren't they cute!

Yes these, too.  If you would like some of the doilies I will share with the first two people that email me , promise!!

Piano rolls for the old player piano's. Very cool. Yes they were given to me, from the same house that was being torn down.

 I bought these~really. $2 each!! Can't pass them up.

Try It Tuesday~scrapbooking fun!

Hi guys!!  These are last months layouts that I hadn't posted on my blog yet.  These are using pattern papers by Elle's Studio called Cameron.  I did six layouts with this collection.   Added in JBS  also, the colors match so well..
Loved the yellow and blue tones in this one.  I ended up splattering some dark blue water color on the layout, going up one side.  Have you ever tried that?  Maybe it is time:):)
Fun technique and I love the look!!!

This layout, I'm using the same paper pack by Elle's Studio and stamped my grandson's name and date of the layout, with the Cameron/acrylic stamp set.  I have been stamping more and more on my pages.  Love using the stamps to make embellishments and for lettering.  Try It!!! That is what
is for, to encourage you to try new things and me too:):)

Couldn't leave with out sharing this  way cool powder jar, I got on a recent junkin' trip.  I loved it~it was hard to part with, but my Sis will take good care of it!!
