Guest blogger for Shimelle~

Hi everyone~ by now you know my big news ~ I'm guest blogger for Shimelle.  You can see the other five layouts I did using Jenni Bowlin/ Playdate over on her blog.  I am showing two more here ~ so in all I did seven layouts using the diecut paper, seven different ways. It was "way fun" but I did scratch my head a time or two.  This one is a favorite of mine~ love that picture!!!
Both of these layouts  used the diecut paper whole and I just layered over with other matching papers.  I used the sewing machine on this one and again it is so much fun when you scrapbook pictures, of people, you love so much!!!  Thank you for stopping in today. I apologize for not being up this morning~blogger was having a bad day!!!

Some Crafty Time.....

Hi everyone~hope you are having a great day! This was my project for yesterday. I used Jenni Bowlin,
the Tim Holtz bird cage die and Primas to make this magnetic note board for my "scrappy" area.  I put a magnetic clip on it ~so it makes it real easy just clip things to it that I need to remember or inspire me and it looks so "shabby" cute!!! Here is what it looked like when I bought it at CraftCrossing:

Thanks for stopping by today ~ if it works out I will have a "way cool" announcement on tomorrow's post!! Until then have a "wonderful, crazy, crafty" day!!!

Try it Tuesday~Printers Tray.....

I had so much fun last night I could not stop~finally at 2:00am I did.  I have had this 7gypsies printer tray in my "scrappy" closet for a year and last night I got my "scrap" on and did this!  I used My Mind's Eye pattern paper, Primas, Jenni Bowlin bingo card and butterflies. I used Helmar to adhere the cluster down.  I'm sure I have left some things off,  that is what comes to mind. Here is another view:
and here is a close up of the Prima "flower" cluster~so pretty!!!!  If you click on this one it will enlarge for you~ to get a better view.
Thanks for stopping in today and if you have one of these ~ it's time to get it done!! Have a great day!!!

Debuting~CraftCrossing Class

This is the class I will be teaching at CraftCrossing February 19,2011 at 10:00am!! I just happen to love the Jenni Bowlin Red/Black Ext 3 line.  My favorite paper is the children paper.  Just looking at their little faces takes me back.

This one is using the die cut paper in the Red/Black ext line.  So many ideas on this~thought about cutting it but decided against doing that and I'm glad I did!!

The last two pictures are the pocket cards~ small ones using the journal cards from the Red/Black ext. line and the bottom ~a large version.  Give CraftCrossing a call and reserve your spot.  The store is full of all kinds of scrappy goodness~you have to see it to believe it!!! Hope to see you!!

A good day.........

Got these in the mail yesterday~my "belated" Christmas gift from one of my BFF ( check out her blog) and her "talented son"!!  I love how they came out !!!!  This was all their idea to take my custom blog header and make it my business card.  Thanks to both of you!!
I have been staying busy, which I'm very thankful for.  I have been working on an up and coming class for CraftCrossing.  Here is a sneek peek ~ using the new Jenni Bowlin line. I <3 this line!!!  We have not put a date on the class but it will be soon.
Here is another peek at what I'm coming up with.  This is not adhered down ~ so subject to change.  If you are interested in the class, give the store a call and reserve your seat.  Hope to see you there.  Have a great day and stay in and stay warm.  We are getting another Artic cold front in today, so it's gonna be cold!!! Great day to be "crafty" and a pot of "stew" sounds good!!!

Try it Tuesday~journal round note cards

These are my supplies for Try it Tuesday!! I used the Jenni Bowlin round journal cards to make these lovely round note cards or, you could use them, as tags for a gift or your scrapbook layout.
I used the Ranger inks ~ love those, yes all of them!  I stamped my image on ( Stampin' Up) and then embellished with some of my favorite stuff.  I have a jar of really old buttons and I pulled those out for these guy note cards.
At the end of January I  am guesting over at Darkroom Door~ this is one of my favorite stamp sets and it is by them.  I just love it and it works so well with so many papers and ideas!!!
I thought this was a "way cool" display for these when I finished them.  Just set it on your desk and when you need a note card or a tag for a gift ~ just grab you one, right at your finger tips!!
I hope you enjoyed this!! and did I mention these would great on a layout ~ yes, I think I did.  Have a great day and go visit Darkroom Door~awesome stuff over there!!!

My Valentine.....

I love to do this type of "funky" art~I love the vintage pieces incorporated into the "valentine".
When I go "junk'n" this is the type of  things I look for.  Broken jewelry with beads or pearls, chandelier crystals, old trims ( hard to come by) and old pearl buttons~I'll buy them every time.
The base of the piece is a Basic Grey book plate.  You can still find them in clearance places.  I used Jenni Bowlin pattern paper and 7Gypsies ephemera.  If you didn't have the book plate, you could build off of chipboard or an old graphic piece.  The sky is the limit ~ if you can think it up, then try it!!!
The treadmill is calling my name ~ so see you tomorrow for Try it Tuesday!!

A new Layout and ****a winner******

Hi everyone~I did this layout the other night and thought I would share it.  The sketch came from Magistical Memories Blog and I had printed out in November to do it and "life" happened and it didn't get done.  It was still on my desk so I worked it up.  I used Hot Chocolate by Fancy Pants, the cardstock is Bazzill, chip board photo turns and some extra embellishments.  This is number three grand and I <3 him dearly!!!

Magistical Memories is looking for a Guest Designer for March! If you love chipboard here's your chance!! You will find more information on their blog about entering and loading your image.  I love working with sketches and chipboard ~ so though I would give it a shot!!  Here is my take on the sketch.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and remember the RAK post here ~ I will use random.org to pick a winner on Friday.

Try it Tuesday ~ never to early........

I know, Valentine's Day is a month away, but in my world you can never be to early!!!  This is a covered Jiffy Pop popcorn~cute, right!! My grands will love this ~ I just need five of them!!!  Here is a photo of the Jiffy Pop so you get the full picture.  I entered this in a contest over at Top Tip Tuesday.
and here is a close-up of the flower cluster with the "Happy Heart Day" stamp!!!

I took gesso and painted in about 1/4" .on the top of the cardboard Jiffy Pop lid to give it a clean white circle.  I used my Creative Memories cutting system to cut the circle for the lid.  I hot glued it on and then decorated the lid.  Pretty fast and fabulous!!!  I still have the RAK going until Friday here so if you are interested in a set of Debby's Designer vintage boy tags and a snowman stamp set by Basic Grey ~take a look. have a wonderful Tuesday and be "crafty".

Debby's tags~RAK included!!!!!

Good morning everyone~I'm running a little  late but it is a great morning even if it is cold and rainy out.  I did these tags this weekend and love how they came out.  I used Debby's Designs for the tag and the pattern paper is by basic Grey/Curio line.  To make this pocket card you will need a sheet of die cut paper, if you don't have any you can make your own. Check out this thread
Cut your die cut paper in half (6"X12"), do a tri-fold.  The tag will fit perfect in the middle.  Adhere the bottom with adhesive.  Decorate as you like.  The pocket is nice and roomy and will hold a goody also.
As an extra surprise~ same rules as last post, leave a comment, become a follower, snag my blinky or recommend me to a friend and I will have a drawing for one set of Debby's Designer's vintage boy tags and a Basic Grey snowman stamp set.  Debby has three more tags on her blog, Debby's Dare~be sure and tell her I sent you.  She sells these wonderful tags at heART of Scrapbooking.  Have a wonderful day and I will pick a winner Friday morning!!!! Hope you enjoy the tags /cards!!!!

Question asked and a RAK~

I had a question on my blog asked and thought it would make a great blog post!!  The questions was asked ~ Debby said...
I love your cards. Is the scallop on the first two on the orginal paper or did you punch it?  This is what I do ~

I have made templates out of cardboard ( from the die cut papers) that way I have the shape and can cut it out from any paper I want.  Here is more example:
And here is how I store them~

I have many more than this photo is showing ~ I keep adding to my "ring".  Here is an example of a layout using the templates to cut a die cut paper.

Hope you enjoyed this and Thank You Debby for the question.
I received my Scrap Trends the other day and they sent me two of these~

sooooo I thought I would share!!!!!  Leave me a comment on this post, refer my blog to a friend, become a follower, add my blinky to your blog ~ any of those will get your name in the hat( maybe more than once).  I appreciate my blog followers very much and love reading your feed back and comments!! I will post a winner Sunday after church~have a wonderful day!!!

Try it Tuesday~pocket cards!!

Hi everyone~Today is "Try it Tuesday"!!!  I love making pocket cards with a pull out tag for the sentiment or gift card.  They are big enough to add extra goodies to the card.  I start with a half a sheet of pattern paper and divide it into thirds ~ and fold , making a tri~fold.  Adhere the fold over flap and that makes your pocket for the tag card.  Decorate the front as you like.  I used Sassafras Lass on this one.
Here is another example.  As you can see they are different sizes, so if need be you could make the tag card first and make the pocket to fit the tag card.  The key is "cute" pattern paper and that should not be a problem. So many adorable lines on the market!!!
More cuteness!!!  The possibilities are endless.  Hope you give this a try and leave me a comment if you have any questions or just to say " hey"!!! Have a great day and be "crafty"!!!!
