Hi guys!
I have the new Abstract 01 (set of four) by Darkroom Door to share with
you today. This stamp is perfect for an Art Journal page, cards or other paper craft
projects.
Abstract 01
First project~ an
Art Journal page using the newly released
Abstract 01 stamp.
Instructions:
The background was created with some random spots of Distressed Oxides and then I filled in the
white spaces with acrylic paint. My inspiration was vintage wall paper. I used collage sheets by
Tim Holtz and then started adding texture with modeling paste and stencils. Abstract 01 is the only stamp used on this page. Some areas were to bright, so I went back over those areas with paint
and stencils. The thing is, you can never ruin a page, just keep adding layers and it will be OK. Chipboard words (Tim Holtz) were added, then colored with a light wash of Distress Oxide ink.
Highlighting areas of the stencils with white acrylic paint (using a No. 1 brush) really gives a great
look and def
The stencils used are the sm. Ferns, med. Incredible, lrg. Diamonds and lrg Polka Dots ~ all by Darkroom Door.
Second Project~
Instructions:
1. Create a card background using the
Abstract 01 stamp. All you do is stamp long ways (two rows)
or if you want the card larger stamp three rows.
2. Then take the stamp and (only using the first five rows of the Abstract 01 stamps) stamp horizontal.
3. The watered down look was achieved with Distress Oxides.
4. Select a color and add water to it. Dip the stamp into the watered down ink and stamp on heavy
white cardstock.
5. It runs together but makes for a messy artsy look. I like that!!!
6. Add the
med. Creativity stencil to the background.
7. Stamp the paint brush and paint drop on the card front.

8. Stamp sentiment and adhere.
9. Double mat on cardstock and adhere to a folded white card base.
Third Project ~ card set!
Instructions:
1. Create the background, for the cards, using the
Abstract 01 stamp. Stamp rows going horizontal and then (using the first five rows on the stamp) stamp vertical.
Makes a cool pattern!
2. Use as many different colors of ink as you like. I went with two contrasting Archival inks.
3. Once the card front was created, tear around the edges of the card front.
Love this look!
4. Double mat on coordinating cardstock and mat on a folded white card base.
5. Stamp the sea shells, on white cardstock, and trim out.
6 Stamp the sentiment out and trim out, in a word strip.
7. Adhere with dimensional adhesive.
7. Splat with black ink or black acrylic paint.
