I love to use Fiskars border punches!! I'm always looking for new ways to incorporate them into my scrapbooking pages. One fun way is to layer strips of pattern papers using the different Fiskars punches. I will be showing you how to make a frame and layer the punched strips of paper to the frame-making a stand alone frame or add it to layout, as I did.
Overlap the top piece with the side piece to make the mitered corner. Cut in the middle of the two strips. Repeat the process for the other side of the frame.
The next step is punch your strips of paper using the same measurements given for the frame. You will need 4 punched borders for the top and bottom and 4 punched borders for the sides. Two borders for each piece of frame. Use as many different shapes as you have or repeat using one shape. It's all good as Martha would say!!!
This is how your frame should be looking!! Pretty cool, right!!!
The next step is to adhere the strip of punched pattern paper to the chipboard strips that make up your frame. I used the Terrifically Tacky Tape by Provo Craft but any strong adhesive will work fine.
The next step is securing the corners of the frame. I used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. A stapler will work just great also.
The finished frame!!!! If you use it as a stand alone piece -adding flowers or trim would make a beautiful addition. I added mine to a layout and clustered embellishments on the bottom corner!!!
I hope you enjoyed this!! Leave a comment or become a follower of my blog and I will draw for a RAK on Sunday. Make sure you stop back on Sunday evening to see if you WON!!! Your next stop or hop is to Fiskateer Johanna #2812!!! Have a great blog hop and thanks for stopping in!!!!cm
