5th Anniversary Blog Hop and New Release with Joy Clair~

Hi guys!!
We are celebrating the 5th Anniversary of Joy Clair along
with a brand new line of stamps Doesn't get any better than that!!!
You have come from #5. Shari Gibson ~

I had the opportunity to work with the Gather set in the Color By Faith Series.
Such a beautiful stamp set!! Love how simple it is illustrated.

The church image was created the same on all four cards, I just used different
types of paper.  One mixed media and the other watercolor paper~

These are created with watercolor paper.  Stamp the church image on watercolor
paper. Prepare the Distress Oxide inks with a small amount of water.
Run the stamped watercolor paper through the inks.  I chose different
shades of brown.  Heat dry after each color is layered on.  The background is
created using stencils and Archival ink.  The stencils are by ARTplorations / Helen
G. designer.  Once the background is created add the church and sentiment.  Double
mat on coordinating cardstock.

On this set, of cards, the background was created the same way the watercolor cards
were created, just used mixed media paper instead.  The church was created the same
way using shades of Distress Oxide inks. The sentiments are heat embossed and then
trimmed out and added to the card front. The stencils are by ARTplorations /
Helen G. designer.

The next set of cards is using Fall Greeting set from the
 Everyday Collection by Joy Clair.

These cards don't really look like a set but were created using the
same technique.  The backgrounds are created using Distress Oxide inks, watered down
and run the paper through the ink, doing one color at a time, and heat
dry after each color of ink.  The colors layer up so pretty!!

The leaves, from the Fall Greetings set, were stamped on the background
and then colored in with one of the coordinating Distress Oxide inks.   Several leaves
were stamped, colored in and trimmed out.  The sentiment was
added (Archival ink) and then adhered to the cluster along side the leaves. The card front
was double matted and then adhered to a folded card base.  Finishing touches of
black ink splats were added.

The difference in this card is, stencils were used in creating the card
background.  The stamps were stamped on the background and colored
in with coordinating colors of Distress Oxide inks. The stencils are by ARTplorations /
Helen G. designer.

Wood Cupcake Card by Clear Scraps~

Hi guys!
Today it is my turn on the Clear Scraps Blog~
I'm sharing a fun Wood Cupcake card.  Super cute, I might add.
These wood cards are fun to create and so super cute!!  This one was painted and pattern paper was adhered to the inside of the card.  The pattern paper shows through the cutout cupcake, that you see on the front of the wood card.  Stickers and stamps were used to decorate the front of the card.   My crop-a-dile was used, to punch holes in the wood, so  ribbon could  be used, to tie the card together.

I used a "Happy Birthday" sticker on the inside of the card.  The outside and inside were splattered with orange acrylic paint to complete the finished card.

Clear Scraps has nine different designs of the wood cards.  Check them out here~

Abstract 04 by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I have been creating with the newly released set called Abstract 04
by Darkroom Door.  I created a set of cards, using this stamp,
plus an art journal page and book markers!!!  It has so many possibilities.
Kinda of reminds me of tree bark~do you see it?

First card set~

My inspiration for this card set was a squirrel hole in the middle of the
Abstract 04  stamp.  Pretty much all I thought of~
Stamp the Abstract 04 twice on white cardstock with brown ink.
That is the background~
Next create the hole by stenciling
one of the complete circles from the Polka Dots stencil by
Darkroom Door.  I thought that was perfect!  Add the leaves from the Carved Leaves Vol.1 set using green ink. Mat on green cardstock
then a folded white card.  Stamp the Robin Bird with several different
tones of brown and trim out.  Cut off  bird over hang and adhere to card front.
Add sentiment (Sentiment Stamp/Friendship). Splat with black ink to complete the card set.
Second project~book markers!

These are really easy and super cute!! Kids love to make them (well my grands do)!
Stamp four Abstract 04 images on white cardstock, using different colors of ink.
Trim in strips.  I used the medium stencils (Creativity and Awesome) for
the words down the middle of the Abstract 04 stamp.  The small
Wildflowers stencil was used on one of the examples also.  The Polka Dots
stencil was used for the matching circle and is where the hole was punched.
The twine was added and black ink was splattered to complete the book
markers.  Just in time for school!!
Project three~ Art Journal Page

This project is the Grand-finale of my projects using all FOUR
of the Abstract stamps.  The background is created on a separate
piece of cardstock and cut down to fit the journal.  I wanted clear stamping
and my journal doesn't allow that ~Each Abstract stamp was stamped ( in a coordinating green/blue ink
shade) on the pages.  I used Distress Oxides to stamp and make big
ink splats.  The original piece is stamped on watercolor paper with Archival
Jet/Black ink.  It is colored in with Distress Oxide inks.  Artist Brushes was
stamped along side the ART word (med.stencil/creativity). Other stamps
used are from the Vintage Office set.   Ink splats were added to
complete the pages.

Joy Clair~ Anchor Of Hope Card!

Hi guys!
Today it is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog!!
I love those days when it is my turn~
I'm sharing a card that was created using the AnchorOf Hope set.
It is an older set but a goodie!!!
To create the background, for the card front, the anchor stamp was stamped in random spots on the white cardstock.  The anchors were colored in using watered down Distress Oxide inks.  I made a mix of several different blue tones and gray Distress Oxides to anchor the "anchor".   That was matted on gray cardstock and then adhered to the card front.  One anchor was stamped out, trimmed out and then the hook, of the anchor, holds the sentiment tag.  Stamp the tag (gray tag or make your own) and adhere to the blue tone piece.  Add dimensional adhesive, to the extra stamped images, around the tag.  Splatter with black ink.  Add twine to the anchor (holding the tag).

Joy Clair is soon to be celebrating its 5th year in business, creating these gorgeous stamps for all of us to enjoy.  Check out the online store for all of the oldies but goodies!!

Bird Houses by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I have been creating with the newly released set called Bird Houses
by Darkroom Door.  I created  cards and gift tags using this stamp
set.  It has so many possibilities and so cute!!!

First set ~

The Fallen Leaves /BG stamp,  was stamped out twice on watercolor paper and
colored in with duel tip markers by Leisure Arts.  The markers were applied with a
water brush so they give the effect of watercolors.  Very fun and easy!  The background
papers were cut 3 1/2" X 4" making a small gift bag type card.  The Film/Frame
was stamped out twice on white cardstock and cut in half, giving four pieces to use
on each card.  The Bird Houses were colored with the same technique as the
background was created, using the duel tip markers by Leisure Arts.
They were stamped on watercolor paper and trimmed out.  The elements were
layered to create the card front.  Twine was added and the sentiment
(Sentiment Stamp/Thank You) to complete the cards.
The card front was adhered (foam  dimensional squares)
to a folded card.  Black ink splats were added.
Second card set~

These cards are easy and so cute to create!  Start by stamping the Bird Houses (use
each one) to create a background for the card.  Mat on white cardstock and then
a folded black card. Stamp one focal Bird House and color in.  I used Distressed
Oxides with a water brush.   Double mat the focal square on black cardstock.  Stamp
a few leaf branches (Carved Leaves Vol. 1) to the top of the Bird House.  Add a
sentiment flag (Sentiment Stamp/Friendship) to the card front along
with the focal Bird House square.   Splat with black ink to complete the card.
Third set ~ gift tags!

These tags are really fun to make !!  The trick to these are stamp the Bird House
image on the fold of the paper and then trim out.  These are painted with acrylic paint.
Markers, watercolors or leave them plain ~ still a super cute look for a gift
bag.  Punch a hole in the top, for twine tie on.  Splat with white or black acrylic
paint to complete the tags.   Tip: Leave the fold at the top, allowing the tag to
 be flipped open.

Art Journal Page with Joy Clair and Therm-o-web~

Hi guys!
It is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog.  We are
doing a cross promotion using the fabulous products from

iCraft/Therm-o-web.

I created a journal page using the Be Brave stamp set
by Joy Clair and stencils, gel medium and 3D foam squares
 by iCraft/Thermoweb.

The background, for the pages, were created using watered down Distress Oxide inks.  Stencils and Metallix gel, by iCraft/Thermoweb, were also added for texture.  The Be Brave stamp images were stamped directly on the art journal page and several were colored in using the Distress Oxide inks.  The focal sentiment was stamped an embossed with black embossing powder on gray cardstock.  The side edges of the paper were torn for a distressed look.  The sentiment was adhered to the art page using 3D foam squares by Thermoweb.

After the background is created, add the stencils and the Metallix gel, for texture.  Dry the Metallix gel with a heat tool.  Add the sentiment and stickers (if you like).  The thing about creating in an art journal is it is really hard to mess up.  Add more paint, gel medium or stamps until you get the look you are after.  So fun to create using stamps!!  Joy Clair will be celebrating their 5th Anniversary very soon.  Check out all those oldies but goodies stamps in the online store  (affiliate link) ~great sets that work together.  That is all a stamper really wants!!

God's Army by Joy Clair~a journal page.

Hi guys!!
Long time no see :)
I have a journal page to share I created about a month ago
with my #5 grand!  He loves doing the pages with me.
I use Distress Oxide for the background and he mixes
the colors for me (and I might add really good at it).

Because I'm blogging this late and the details were not written
down (sorry), here is what I recall~
The background is Distress Oxides watered down. I then stamped
the images from the God's Army set by Joy Clair.
I used ARTplorations / Helen G. designer stencils to add dimension
 and texture to the pages.

I love the mixed media look to this page after the stencils are
added.  I felt like I had to much pink so I kept adding
stencils with different shapes and images.  Toned the pink way down~

Black and white paint splats were added to complete the pages.
The TH initials ~ my dad!

Abstract 03 Stamp by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I have been creating with the newly released set called Abstract 03
by Darkroom Door.  I created a batch of cards using this stamp
every way I could think of.  It has so many possibilities.

First card set ~

These cards are more like a paper piecing project.  I used all three of the Abstract stamp (one
more coming) to create this pattern.  Each Abstract stamp was stamped with Archival ink on white cardstock, one time.  Each strip was cut into 1" squares.  They were positioned in a square (3 across and 3 down) to create the card front.  Random squares were adhered with dimensional
adhesive. A sentiment was added and then the card front  splattered with black ink.
Really cute and simple stamping was used!!!!

Second card~

This is another simple stamping project.  Take the Abstract 03 Stamp and
stamp it out three times on white cardstock using the different shades of a color.
Square up the card front and mat on coordinating cardstock.  Adhere to a folded card.
Add a silhouette image,  over the background, that was created with the Abstract 03
Stamp.   I used  the Sm. Wildflowers Stencil by Darkroom Door.
A butterfly was added from the Butterflies set.  The sentiment is from the
Whimsical Words set.  Black ink was splattered on the card.

Third card~
One last simple stamping project.  These cards are created the same, just different
coordinating inks were used.  The background was stamped with two coordinating
Archival inks.  The Abstract 03 was stamped two times, randomly applying ink in
different spots on the stamp.  The results is a shading effect of both colors.  The
background was cut in half and squared up to create two card backgrounds.
The Texture/Criss Cross stamp was stamped over the background with black ink.
The Fine Leaves set were stamped next with black ink.  You can see the outline.  The Succulent
was stamped next in two different coordinating ink colors, trimmed out and adhered to the
card front. Sentiment flags were stamped and adhered with small brads.
The background was matted on coordinating cardstock
and then a coordinating folded card.

The card was splattered with black ink.
These are small, cute and great for a gift bag card!!!!

Birds On Tree Photo Stamp by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I have been creating with the newly released stamp by Darkroom
Door called Birds On Tree.  It is one of four new Photo Stamps
added to the current line.  Super cute, too!!

First Card~

This is pretty straight forth stamping with some fussy cutting involved.  The Birds
On Tree/Photo Stamp is stamped on white cardstock, with Cobalt Archival ink,
and shaded with Distress Ink / yellow shade. Mat on navy or black cardstock
and then a yellow cardstock, leaving about 1" at the bottom for the feather.  Adhere to a  white folded card.  Stamp the feather out  on white
cardstock using three different colors.  Add the ink in random spots on
the stamp. Fussy cut the feather image and adhere it to the bottom
of the card front.  Add the sentiment from the Whimsical Words by
 Darkroom Door.
Add twine and splat with black ink.

Second card~
This was really fun to create and I love how the Birds On Tree worked so
well with the Filmstrip Border Stamp.  I stamped the birds, three times, with
different inks. The images were cut down the middle and three of the images
were used  to create the filmstrip card.
Stamp the filmstrip border stamp on white cardstock
and trim it out.  I trimmed it with my paper trimmer. It is then cut down
the middle creating two borders, one for each side of the Birds On Tree image.
Adhere the filmstrip border to each side and attach to a folded card.
Cut 1/8" black cardstock dividers for each section. You will need two.
Adhere with wet glue and let dry.
Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock, trim out in a word strip and adhere to
card front.  Splat with black ink.  Stamp the numbers from the Vintage Office
set in upper left corner.

Last one,  a card set~

These are really easy to create and super cute (I think).  Stamp two Birds On Tree
image using brown ink on white cardstock.  Stamp two images in
two different contrasting colors (that will go with the brown ink).  Cut those
images in half creating a top layer for each card.  The layer is cut about 1/2"
on each side making it smaller. With dimensional foam squares pop up the smaller
image and adhere it over the brown image. Use the Vintage Office set and
stamp the numbers in the upper corners of the card fronts.  Using the Stitched Borders, stamp
up on the top of the smaller image, giving a stitched  look. Stamp the
sentiment (from the Love Birds set) on Kraft cardstock, trim down to a strip and
adhere to card front.  Adhere card front to black cardstock and then to a folded Kraft card.
Splat with black ink.
