The top frame, of the shaker, is embossed with Distress Oxide ink and high gloss embossing powder.   It is really shiny!!   Add pattern paper to the back of the shaker.  Glue the frames together with a strong wet glue and let set for a minute.  Add the sequins and sparkle to the inside of the snowflake.  Take the embossed frame and glue the acrylic frame to the back of the embossed snowflake.  Remember to remove the plastic film from both sides of the acrylic snowflake frame.  Glue the front of the snowflake to the base of the snowflake.  Decorate the front.

A Scrapbook page with Clear Scraps products!!

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using stencils and the Life Is Good chipboard word title embellishment by Clear Scraps.  These are so fun to create with.  They can easily be painted, inked, embossed or just leave them bare, with no color.  They look great anyway you want to create with them.  Clear Scraps has a large selection of title words to choose from.  You can find them here.

Title word1_clear scraps_c. mercer
The chipboard word title was embossed using a powder that looks like sand.  Nice touch!!!  The nautical shapes at the bottom, of the scrapbook page, are created by stenciling the shapes on pattern paper (using ink) and then cutting them out.  Thought these sets (Ocean Friends and Beach Fun by Clear Scraps) were perfect for a cute border at the bottom of the page.

Title word3 _clear scraps_c.mercer

Title word2_clear scraps_c. mercer
When adding color, to the stencil, you can use more than one color.  I love doing this technique.  It gives the images shadows that add dimension to the image.

Products used:
Clear Scraps: Chipboard Title " Life is Good", 6" Beach Fun Mascil and 6" Ocean Friends Mascil.
Other:
Embossing Powder: Emerald Creek/Dirty Sand
Paper: Three Bugs in a Rug

Paper Bag Pocket with Quick Quotes!

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the Secret Garden Collection by Quick Quotes.  This is a beautiful, bright collection with lots of fun colors.  So pretty!!

This page has a total of five pictures.  Three of which are in a pocket on the side of focal pictures.  All the pictures were printed on the iP8720 printer by Canon.

The pictures are 4"x6" in size.

The title was colored by the PowderPuff Chalk inks by Quick Quotes.  So fast and always look great!!!  The pocket, for the extra photos, is a paper bag.  Just secure the paper bag under the main focal point, leaving the bag opening to the outside.  By doing that you create a pocket for extra photos or journal notes.

The folded card holds the other three photos and the journal notes, that tell the story.  All were
printed out on the iP8720 Canon printer.

The card just tucks in the opening of the bag.  It is great for journal
 entries that are private also.

Products used:
Quick Quotes: Secret Garden Collection (coming soon)
Quick Quotes: Whistlin' Dixie chipboard die cuts (out of stock)
Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks: Capri Blue, Bermuda and Midnight Confession
Canon iP8720 Printer

Chipboard embellishments, perfect for scrapbooking ~ Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the chipboard shapes and titles by Clear Scraps.  I love adding these chipboard embellishments to my pages.  They are easy to add color to and they happen to look fabulous plain!

Clear scraps_chipboard1_C. Mercer (2)
The pictures were trimmed down, so they would fit across the page, and then matted on white cardstock.

Clear Scraps_chipboard2_C. Mercer (2)

Paper borders were added to enhance the photos.

Clear Scraps_chipboard3_C. Mercer (2)

The chipboard pieces were embossed using Distress Oxide ink and embossed with clear coat embossing powder.  They were both done at the same time and they both came out differently.  The "GameOn" title came out a mat texture and the film strip is shiny.   Could be the difference in the chipboard, no sure, doesn't really matter~ both look great!!!

Clear Scraps_chipboard4_C. Mercer (2)

I love clustering the chipboard shapes with other textures and embellishments.  I used stamps and stickers to create the cluster.  The small photos were trimmed out of a large photo to fit inside the chipboard film strip.  I love how it looks.  All of the photos, in the film strip, were from one 4"x6" photo. Kinda cool!!!

Creating with chipboard by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using chipboard shapes and the title year, as embellishments, by Clear Scraps.   I love using chipboard on scrapbook pages! It is easy to make it what you need it to be.  If you want to use paint, emboss it , ink it or leave it plain ~ you can decide what look you like.

Clear Scraps_chipboard1_C. Mercer
The two chipboard peices were embossed with chunky embossing powder.  I really love the look of embossed chipboard.  Clear Scraps has a large selection of chipboard images, shapes and title words.  They are always adding new items to the store, so check it out!

Clear Scraps_chipboard6_C. Mercer
The embossed chipboard is adhered, to the page, with Beacon 3-IN-1 glue.  So shiney and it has a varigated look to it.

Clear Scraps_chipboard3_C. Mercer
I wanted to keep the program, from this event, so I created a slide out behind the photo mat.  All you do is adhere along 3 sides, of the mat, leaving the one side  open to slide the item in and out of.  This technique could also be used to create a secret space for journaling.  The tab on the program makes it easy to pull it out.

Clear Scraps_chipboard4_C. Mercer
A photo strip was created, at the bottom of the page, making sure all the pictures, of the event, are in que.

This is a special time for my granddaughter and her family!!  She is one smart cookie!

Products used:
Clear Scraps: Chipboard/Circle Vines
Clear Scraps: Chipboard Title/2018
Other:

Acrylic Scalloped Scrapbook Page with Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here with a scalloped edge acrylic scrapbook page using products by Clear Scraps.  I have created a short tutorial, to give a visual, of how the page was created.

Clear scraps_acrylic page1_c. mercer
Four photos were collaged to make a film strip type photo and then mounted on solid paper.  The pictures are of a hail storm that came through our area,
a few days ago.  The only one I can remember while living in this area of Texas.  Pretty exciting, too!!

Clear scraps_acrylic page2_c. mercer
Pattern paper was chosen for the scrapbook page.  The "Mother" chipboard word by Clear Scraps, was inked with Distress Oxide, coated with clear embossing powder and then using a heat tool embossed.  By embossing the chipboard word, the word stands out and the word has a shiny texture.  Remove the plastic film from both sides of the acrylic before adhering the pattern paper to the back of the acrylic.  Trace the shape on the pattern paper and  cut out.  Adhere to the back of the acrylic with Beacon Quick Grip.  The background paint splats were added with irRESISTible / gold embellisher.  It sticks to acrylic really well.

 Clear scraps_acrylic page3_c.mercer
A journal pocket was created, out of a vintage library envelope, to hold the story of the hail storm that came through Belmont Texas.  What a day, is right!!!!

Products used:
Clear Scraps: XL Scallops acrylic sheet
Clear Scraps: chipboard word "Mother"
Beacon Grip Grip

Other:
irRESTISTible / gold by Imagine Crafts
S.E.I. paper
stickers
vintage library envelope and card

Scallop Circle Printer Tray by Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here with the Scallop Circle Printer Tray with a creative twist.  Clear Scraps makes this very cool product that you can really get creative with.  I really wanted to take it up a notch with more of a vintage look.  Instead of adding sequins, buttons and making it a shaker with photos I created a shadow box.  Once I got going on this more ideas flooded my head.  This is how it all shook out ~
Clear scraps_printer tray1_C. Mercer

Instructions:
Gesso the back panel of the Printer Tray.  Use a heat tool to dry it quickly.

Clear Scraps_printer tray3_tutorial_C. Mercer
Create a background using the Gelli Press and several different colors of acrylic paints.  Let dry.

Clear Scraps_printer Tray4_tutorial_C. Mercer
Apply the excess paint, from the brayer, on an Art Journal page (for next creative project~no waste!)

Clear Scraps_printer tray5_tutorial_C. Mercer
Apply a stencil design and add modeling paste for a raised texture.  Dry with heat tool.  For added texture apply more stencils with ink.  Gather and prepare items for inside the Printer Tray.  I stamped out some Art themed stamps, trimmed them out to add to the Printer Tray along with some other Art related items.  Glue the items in the divided spaces and let dry.  Glue two frames together and let dry (no need to paint the tops).  Glue them to the bottom back panel.  Remove plastic film from acrylic sheet and glue on top of Printer Tray.  Prepare the top frame (paint or paper) and glue over acrylic sheet.  Decorate front with more embellishments.

Clear Scraps_printer tray7_C. Mercer
I loved digging around my craft room for Art related items to put inside the Printer Tray Frame.  The brushes are from when I first started painting "sigh".

Clear Scraps_printer tray2_C. Mercer

Scallop Clipboard by Clear Scraps!!

Hi, Connie here with my take on the large Scalloped Clipboard by Clear Scraps.  I used one of the new 6" stencils and chipboard words,  to create a "Springy" decor piece.  I used some old pattern paper, from my stash, along with a vintage bingo card, that was gifted to me by a fellow crafter and friend.

Clear Scraps_scallop clipboard1_C. Mercer
The pattern paper was cut in half and then, using a tape runner, to attach the two pieces together making the paper 8 1/2" X 12".

The next step was to stencil the background paper using the 6" Shiplap stencil with black ink.  The "Home" chipboard embellishment was stamped with Distress Oxide ink and then embossed.  I love the texture it gives the chipboard word.

Clear Scraps_scallop clipboard2_C. Mercer
Attach the vintage Bingo card to front by placing it under the clipboard clip.  Adhere photos and paper embellishments, by layering the paper and tags, to create a focal point on the Bingo card.  Building a focal point of interest is really the fun part!!

Clear Scraps_scallop clipboard3_C. Mercer
To bring attention to the beautiful scalloped edges, of the clipboard,  Stazon ink was lightly applied to the edges, giving the clipboard a shadow look.  Once the clipboard was finished, black ink was speckled randomly, for a finished look.  Tip: Cover photos before speckling with ink.

Products used:
Clear Scraps: Lrg. Scalloped Clipboard
Clear Scraps: 6" Shiplap stencil
Clear Scraps: "Home" chipboard script word
Stazon ink/Jet Black
Beacon/Quick Grip
Other:
tags, trim, paper embellishments, material flower

House Pallett Decor by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with one of the new Pallett designs by Clear Scraps.  I got to create with the House Pallett and loved how easy it was to put together and decorate.  It is a blank canvas and you get to design your creation.

House_mercer

 Instructions:
House_mercer1
Lay out the wood boards to create the house.   Glue the pointed board, on the back of the house (matching up to the pointed roof) .  Let dry.
Decide on paint color and paint the front of the house pallett.
Free hand or use a stencil for the Ivy, that is along the side and on the top corner.

House_mercer3
Paint the chipboard piece " Life is Good"  and glue it next to Ivy cluster. Speckle the cluster area with black and white acrylic paint.  Attach clip to center of pallett (that will hold the photo) and let it dry.   Add die cuts and/or stickers to border and showcase the photo.  Because a clip is being glued in the midddle, photos can be changed out as desired making updating photos a breeze!!!

House_mercer2
To add a hanger to the piece ~ run jute or twine in between the wood and the back board.  Tie off.

Supplies used:
Clear Scraps: Home Decor/ House Pallett
Clear Scraps: Chipboard word / Life is Good
Other:
acrylic paint
clip (to hold photo)
Glue/Beacon
die cuts and stickers
jute

Mini Clipboard with Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here with a cute and simple mini Vintage Clipboard, by Clear Scraps, that is perfect to showcase that one special photo.  Let me show you~

Clear scraps_mini1_clipboard_c.mercer
Pattern paper was attached to the back of the clipboard, after the protective film was removed from both front and back of the clipboard.  Layer coordinating papers on the front, with die cuts and things of interest.  Chipboard stickers look great and add dimension to the project.

Clear scraps_mini2_clipboard_c.mercer
The chipboard word " Road Trip" by Clear Scraps was inked and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The word "Road Trip" was attached, under the photo, on the front of the clipboard with strong glue.

Clear scraps_mini3_clipboard_c.mercer
The clipboard is acrylic and very light weight, so displaying it on a small easel worked perfect.  Twine was added to the top clip for added color.  Already to give to my grandson!

Products used:
Clear Scraps: Mini Vintage Clipboard
Clear Scraps: Chipboard script word "Road Trip"
Beacon
other: pattern paper (to layer on front of clipboard), chipboard stickers, ink for shading, twine, embossing powder and ink.

Creating with Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes!

Hi, Connie here creating with Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes.  They look amazing together.  Both companies have beautiful and unique products to create with. I used the large Scalloped Portrait Clipboard by Clear Scraps and the Earth Wind Fire Collection by Quick Quotes.  Take a look~

April8
The inside frame was kinda of tricky to create, but fun at the same time.  I used a border punch and cut four strips and then connected them together. The edges were inked with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink in Navy.

Clear scraps_quick quotes_banner_c.mercer
The banner was fun to create.  One of the papers in the Earth Wind Fire Collection by Quick Quotes is made up of triangles, so perfect to create a banner from.  Just cut the paper in strips and then snip the triangles off.  I used Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink to shade the banner pieces.

Clear scraps_chipboard_powderpuff chalk ink_c.mercer
The "smile" chipboard word by Clear Scraps is colored with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink/Navy.  So easy and I love the coverage you get using this ink.  The chipboard word also has two coats of acrylic sealer on it to add in brightness and shine.  The stenciling was done using the 6" Chevron stencil by Clear Scraps and the Navy PowderPuff Chalk ink by Quick Quotes.

Products used:
Clear Scraps: Large Scalloped Portrait Clipboard, 6" Chevron stencil and "Smile" chipboard word

Easter Shaker Basket with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a cute idea using the Bucket Shaker by Clear Scraps.  By using different embellishments the Bucket Shaker can easily become an Easter Basket.  The Easter Basket is displayed on a vintage Easter book that was given to me by a friend.  Super cute table center piece for Easter.

Bucket shaker_clear scraps_c.mercer
I used pattern paper on the inside of the Bucket Shaker (soon to be Easter Basket)  and then painted the frame with acrylic paint.  To achieve the crackle effect, apply crackle paint over the acrylic paint.  When it is dry you will have a lush, vintage looking finish on the frame of the shaker.

Bucket shaker_clear scraps_easter_c.mercer
The chipboard Easter word was given the same finish as the frame but a darker acrylic paint was used on the word.  Both acrylic paint colors are in the pattern background paper of the shaker.  The inside was filled with sequins by Clear Scraps.

Bucket shaker_clear scraps_sequins_chipboard word_c.mercer
In this photo you can really see the gorgeous crackle on the frame and chipboard word.  I love the look!! Beautiful and so easy to achieve.  It would love great hanging from an Easter Basket.
