A Silhouette Christmas card with Joy Clair!

Hi guys!
It is my turn on the Joy Clair blog.  I will be sharing a
card created using the Santa's Coming set by Joy Clair.
It has some really fun silhouette houses that are amazing!!
I used my Misti (stamp platform) to get the houses lined up straight and then stamped them out on gray cardstock.  I used Versa Fine Clair by Imagine Crafts.  I love the deep, rich black color it produces.  On a silhouette type stamp the ink is important. You want good coverage of color.  The wreath was colored in with dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.  This card could be backed with different colors of cardstock (like traditional holiday colors) and look amazing.  I used silver cardstock with the gray.  Love the look!!
The house were splattered with white acrylic paint.  I use an old toothbrush and watered down paint to get a good snow look.   The card is adhered together with 3D foam squares by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful holiday!!!

Fall cards with Joy Clair and Leisure Arts~

Hi guys!!
It is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog!
I created some fallish (is that a word) cards that make me ready for some
 cool weather and football.
These cards were created by using the markers as a mixed media type ink.  I scribbled the ink on a non stick mat and added a small amount of water and dabbed the ink on the watercolor  paper.  I dried the paper with a heat tool after each color.  I just kept layering colors (from the markers) until I got a fallish mix of color. Something a cool November day would be proud of.  The images form the Fall, family & Football stamp set were stamped out and colored in with the dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.
The images were adhered to the card front with Dimensional adhesive and then double matted on coordinating cardstock.  The cards are 3" X 4" /small great for gift bags are football goodies!

The second card is created using the same technique except I used Distress Oxides inks instead of the dual tip markers.  The background was created the same.  The images were water colored with Distress Oxide ink.  The images were adhered to the card front with dimensional adhesive/foam squares. The card front was double matted on coordinating cardstock and then adhered to a folded card.  This is a 3" X 3" card so it is perfect for a gift bag or used as a card on some game day treats!

Joy Clair and Leisure Arts ~ cards!!

Hi guys!!
It is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog today!
I am also creating with some crazy cool dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.
So fun to create with awesome stamps and some awesome markers:)

I'm here with some cards using the newly released stamp sets by Joy Clair called Crystal Background and You're A Gem.  These sets were made to go together and have a ton of sparkle potential.

The same unique, pretty crystal stones were used in both sets and ready to be all glittered up.  We are also creating with some crazy cool dual tip markers  by Leisure Arts.

The markers were scribbled on a non stick surface and sprayed with a small amount of water.  The paper (mixed media) was dabbed in the ink from the markers.  I kept adding different colors, drying with a heat tool after each color.  Once the background was created stencils were added for dimension and interest.  The gem stones were stamped out and dabbed with ink from the markers.  The cut out gemstone images were glazed with a glitter pen an adhered to the card front.  The sentiment was added along with some small clear rhinestones. The card front was matted on  gray cardstock and then a folded card.

Both these cards are created using the same techniques.  The images are stamped out on backgrounds created using the dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.  The stencil work is giving the impression of negative verses positive impression but actually it is a dark plum ink on light paper and then dark paper.  The gemstone images were cut out and glittered with the Wink Of Stella pen/clear, giving the gemstones the sparkle that we all love.  The sentiments were stamped out and added to each card. The cards were speckled with black ink (first card) and white ink (second card).  To complete the cards, the card fronts were adhered to a folded card.

Mermaid & Pearl card with Joy Clair and Rinea~

Hi guys!
It's my turn over on the Joy Clair blog I have created a couple of cards using the same stamp set by Joy Clair.  It is one of the newly released sets called Mermaid at Heart.  The first example is created with Rinea paper and is so shiny!   This paper is perfect for this card~

The images (mermaid tail and clam shell) are created with Distressed Oxides.  Gather coordinating colors of inks, add water and run the paper through the ink.  Heat dry after each color.  Stamp the mermaid tail and clam shell (using Archival /Jet Black) and trim out.  The Rinea paper is from the Variety Frosted Artist Pack.  I used two different shades of blue/turquoise paper, from this pack, to create a card base for the stamped sea images.

Stencil work was added, to the background, using ARTplorations / Helen G. designer.   Really love the look the stencil shape added to the card.  Trying for a water effect.  The sea images are added with tape runner and foam squares for added dimension.  The clam with pearl are from the "Pearl of Great Price" stamp set by Joy Clair.

The background on this card was created using an embossing folder and duel tip markers by Leisure Arts.  The markers are water based and so very easy to use like you would watercolors.  The markers were used with a non stick mat and water.  The marker ink was dabbed on the embossing folder to create a sea coral resting in the background.  The mermaid tail is stamped on white cardstock and then colored in with the same marker ink that was created by adding water to the marker color.  The sentiment is called Scriptures of Love by Joy Clair.  Black ink splats were added to complete the card.

Bird Houses by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I have been creating with the newly released set called Bird Houses
by Darkroom Door.  I created  cards and gift tags using this stamp
set.  It has so many possibilities and so cute!!!

First set ~

The Fallen Leaves /BG stamp,  was stamped out twice on watercolor paper and
colored in with duel tip markers by Leisure Arts.  The markers were applied with a
water brush so they give the effect of watercolors.  Very fun and easy!  The background
papers were cut 3 1/2" X 4" making a small gift bag type card.  The Film/Frame
was stamped out twice on white cardstock and cut in half, giving four pieces to use
on each card.  The Bird Houses were colored with the same technique as the
background was created, using the duel tip markers by Leisure Arts.
They were stamped on watercolor paper and trimmed out.  The elements were
layered to create the card front.  Twine was added and the sentiment
(Sentiment Stamp/Thank You) to complete the cards.
The card front was adhered (foam  dimensional squares)
to a folded card.  Black ink splats were added.
Second card set~

These cards are easy and so cute to create!  Start by stamping the Bird Houses (use
each one) to create a background for the card.  Mat on white cardstock and then
a folded black card. Stamp one focal Bird House and color in.  I used Distressed
Oxides with a water brush.   Double mat the focal square on black cardstock.  Stamp
a few leaf branches (Carved Leaves Vol. 1) to the top of the Bird House.  Add a
sentiment flag (Sentiment Stamp/Friendship) to the card front along
with the focal Bird House square.   Splat with black ink to complete the card.
Third set ~ gift tags!

These tags are really fun to make !!  The trick to these are stamp the Bird House
image on the fold of the paper and then trim out.  These are painted with acrylic paint.
Markers, watercolors or leave them plain ~ still a super cute look for a gift
bag.  Punch a hole in the top, for twine tie on.  Splat with white or black acrylic
paint to complete the tags.   Tip: Leave the fold at the top, allowing the tag to
 be flipped open.
