Banners Acrylic Layout with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the NEW Banners Acrylic Layout by Clear Scraps. This is just one, of many, that Clear Scraps have designed.  So many designs, something for everyone.  They are easy to use and are a great guide for placement of photos and embellishments.  The acrylic adds dimension to the page, plus it looks fantastic!!


Always remember to take off the plastic film before creating with acrylic.  On this piece the acrylic was inked with StazOn ink, black first and the white over the black, just the outside frame. The banners were covered with pattern paper and adhered to the acrylic, with Beacon adhesive.  Stickers were also used to decorate the banners and adding color to the page. Two of the spaces were used for photos and the other two for die cuts and a journal spot.

A Perfect Day with Quick Quotes!

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the Mulberry Collection by Quick Quotes.  Blue and purple tones are always a great mix.  I love the blue tones for the boy pages, so perfect.

The scalloped mat was created using one of the Lucky 8 Punches.  The edges are shaded with Blue Jeans PowderPuff Chalk ink by Quick Quotes.   The ink is a perfect shade to use with this Mulberry Collection.  

The sign is created using a colored straw and a Quote card by Quick Quotes. The wooden arrow is colored with Desert Sun PowderPuff Chalk ink by Quick Quotes. Love how the arrow in the photo matches with the arrow on the sign.

The gold colored die cut added another spot of color to the page.

It was a perfect day!!!

February tag with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with my February tag using a couple of the new releases by Clear Scraps.  I used the Hearts/Dots Layering stencil with the Rose chipboard embellishment to create the tag.


I created a collage of pictures to show how the tag was created.


*Gesso the chipboard tag.  let dry.
*Create a background on the tag.  I used the Gelli plate and acrylic paint.  Let dry.
*Add hearts with the Hearts/Dots layering stencil by Clear Scraps.
*Paint the Rose chipboard embellishment and let it dry.
*Add the Rose chipboard to the tag and finish decorating to your liking.

Try It Tuesday~ Butterfly Garden Border stamp by Darkroom Door

Hi guys!

As I promised my creation using one of the Darkroom Door Border

 stamps called Butterfly Garden.  I was really curious how the border stamps would stamp, so I just started stamping on white cardstock. 

 I stamped one row and then another, and another, until I had stamped the entire sheet.

The front of the journal took three rows.  The stamped paper was adhered to the front of the journal, edges sanded and then shaded with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink/Midnight Confessions. 

The front is speckled  with Tumble Dye/Black by S.e.i. and Dylusions Ink Spray/Lemon Zest.

I'm sure you are wondering about the gorgeous butterflies~

let me talk you through it!

I watched a tutorial from Richard Garay and had to try to make them. Darkroom Door has a Eclectic/Butterfly that is similar to the one he used in his tutorial, so I knew this was possible. The technique is a 3D technique (can't find it to share) but I viewed it on Facebook.

I'm going to explain how it is done~

1. Using 3 shades of ink, spread (in a V shape) one under the other, on a piece of white cardstock. Just take the ink pad right to the paper. The paper size about 5" wide x 10" long.  The ink space needs to be larger enough to stamp the butterfly on.

2. Stamp the butterfly on the ink space with Archival/Black ink.

3. Fold the paper in thirds and glue (liquid, white paper glue) them together. That will give two layers of cardstock plus the layer the butterfly is stamped on.

3. Cut the butterfly out while the glue is still wet. That is the key.

4. Shape the butterfly, to give it dimension, like it is in flight.

5. When it is dry, seal the butterfly with an acrylic sealer.  I did 4 coats on mine. ( in the tutorial, he did 8 coats)

6. I speckled mine with yellow acrylic paint and added a center to the butterfly.

They take a little time but are so worth it.  I will list the butterfly I used from Darkroom Door in the supply list but it is this one~

There was enough stamped border paper left over that a book mark was created.

Darkroom Door Border Stamps ~ storage idea!

Hi guys!

I have some of the new border stamps by Darkroom Door and I wanted to show you how I prepared them for storage.  They are about 2" wide and 12" long.  That is a long stamp. I was worried about stamping with a stamp that long, if it would leave gaps in the image but it didn't.  

Here is how I'm storing them~

I bought 9" x 15" size laminating sheets.  I was able to laminate the paper product label putting two to a sheet.  Once the label was laminated I cut the sheet in half.  The rubber stamp sticks to the back of the laminated product label. Easy to use, just peel the stamp off ,  clean and adhere back to the laminated product label.

Air Balloon Acrylic Layout by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with another, awesome,  new release by Clear Scraps.  If you are a scrapbooker you will love this Air Balloon Acrylic Layout.  This is one design, Clear Scraps has many different and fun Acrylic Layout designs.


Alcohol ink was used on parts of the design.  Blue for the clouds and red for the air balloon.   The inks will run and it didn't bother me one bit:).  Just remember to remove the plastic from the acrylic before applying the ink. 


The acrylic layout was used as a guide only~ still leaves plenty of room to be creative.

Live, Laugh and Love with Quick Quotes

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the new Mulberry collection by Quick Quotes.  I love the blue tones mixed with purple and gold.  This page was created with two sheets of pattern paper out of the Mulberry collection.  

A collage was created to show you the steps taken to create this page:

Trim MB-103 to 7"wide and 11" long. That is the mat for the photos.  The other piece is what the borders will be cut out of.  Cut four strips of paper 1 1/2" wide and 12" long.

#1. Use border punches and punch out four borders from the strips of paper.

#2. Mat photos with white cardstock.

#3. Shade photo mat and borders with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink/Blue Jeans.

#4. Adhere the photo mat to the MB-101 (blue strip).  Then adhere the borders to the side of the mat.

#5. Use Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink/Blue Jeans to add color to the chipboard title.

#6. Stamp embellishment (number and heart) with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink/Blue Jeans and cut them out.

All of the elements have been created and are ready to be adhered to the page.  Journal along the border strips.
