RubberStampMadness ~ Summer Issue

Hi guys!
I have some good news to share.
 Two cards were selected for the Summer issue of 
 RubberStampMadness.  If you have never seen the magazine
it is really neat.  Stories are written about the projects/cards.
It is a different format than most magazine that 
publish created cards/scrapbook pages etc.

Card #1

The call was for using a "map" on your project.  I stamped my image on a 
vintage map from my stash.  I'm creating with Campsite by
 Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.  Perfect for this call~ 

Card #2 

This was published as a teaser card for the next issue.  It showcases my
hand carved pumpkin stamps.  I'm creating with Blue Knight Rubber Stamps,
Darkroom Door, Tim Holtz idea-ology paper dolls and stickers.

A FALL Card with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L~

Hi guys!
It is my turn on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  today.
I'm sharing a Fall Card using a vintage map for the card
background.  I'm also using some really neat cutting dies
from Stampendous!  It is called Truck Load.
 I love it!

 
This was really fun to create and using the map was easy to stamp on
and adhere the die cuts to.  I have all the details on the 
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog.

Sketched Alphabet by Darkroom Door~

 Hi guys!
I have more Darkroom Door to share with you!!!
I'm showcasing Sketched Alphabet.  I think you will 
love this set!!!

When I trimmed out this set I decided to keep the
stamps in strips.  I may cut each letter out separately
at a later date.  My vision was using this set as a background.
With that said here is my first card~

The stamps were stamped in strips.  The background, along with the
letters, are colored with Distress Oxide ink.  The typewriter is stamped with 
Archival ink and colored with Distress Oxide ink.  It is them trimmed out. 
The same process was used with the pencil stamp.  Sketchy Stars are
 added along with the sentiment.

Even though the stamps are in strips, they worked great for
this design.  I stamped the letters, trimmed then out , colored
 and then adhered to the card front.  The leaves are stamped
over the mixed media background.  Sketchy Stars were added for
excitement! Being HOME is exciting!!

Bird Life. Typewriter, Spiral Notebook, Pencils, Sketchy Stars.
Other: Distress Oxide, Archival ink, TH idea-ology/Big Chat.

New Stencils by Darkroom Door~

 Hi guys!!
Darkroom Door is launching a new release and it is fabulous!!!
I will be showcasing the Small Stencils.  They are about a 4"X6" size.
Just the right size for a card front.

I started with the Moon Stencil~

Pocket Page with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Hi guys!
It is my turn on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog.  
I have had the best time creating these fun photo film strips that
fit perfectly in a page pocket on a scrapbook page.  I was able to 

scrapbook sixteen photos on one page!  That is success!!

Try It Tuesday~tart tins and dishes!

Hi guys!!

Thanks for stopping by for Try It Tuesday.  I haven't been regular on Tuesday

 and I'm sorry for that.  Life has been coming at me pretty fast lately.  I have a cute project to share using some junkin' stuff.  If you have tart tins and old dishes your good to go. Let me show you~

All I did was glue the tart tin to the bottom of the dish, making a dish with a pedestal.

I used Beacon Quick Grip, love this stuff!!!

 Let them dry for about 10 minutes and it is good to go.  You could also use saucers for this (just didn't have any).  The rule is "use what you have".  If you have to buy stuff, just takes the fun out of re-purposing something. 

These also would be really different to hold a birthday cupcake for someone special. 

I'm using them, in a cluster, for buttons.

Eclectic Suitcase stamp by Darkroom Door~

Hi, Connie here with a card using the new Eclectic/ Suitcase stamp by Darkroom Door, like a background stamp.  Single image stamps make for a fun card background and so easy!!! 

Stamp the image several times on white cardstock.  You can position the stamp or stamp in random places.  I positioned the suitcase to make rows of suitcases.  The created background was then adhered to a cream colored card base.

One image was stamped out and then trimmed.  The carved leaves were stamped to look like they were behind the luggage.  The Texture/Script stamp was added 

for a vintage feel. 

The suitcase was adhered with foam squares and then embellished with Word Bands by Tim Holtz / Idea-ology.

Try It Tuesday~ grab your suitcase, with Darkroom Door!

Hi, Connie here with a couple of cards using the new Eclectic: Suitcase stamp by Darkroom Door.  I'll start with the World Traveler card~

Stamp the Postage stamps background stamp on white cardstock.  Use several different colors of ink to mimic the different colors of postage stamps.

Mount the background on two different colors of cardstock, bringing in two of the colors from the background.  Stamp the suitcase on white cardstock and trim out.

Stamp stickers out for the suitcase using the Correspondence and Vintage Office set by Darkroom Door. and adhere to suitcase. Add a Paper Dolls image by Tim Holtz/Idea-ology.

Brass look alike brads were added to the suitcase using a Pearl Pen by Viva.  

Stamp the words World Traveler on white cardstock, trim out and adhere to card front.  Speckle with ink splats or paint. Stamp postage cancellation image on front of card.

The next card is called Follow Your Dreams using the same Eclectic/Suitcase stamp by Darkroom Door.

This card is created much the same way as the first card.  Stamp the background, on white cardstock, using the Tickets stamp by Darkroom Door.  Stamp Lady Liberty, with black ink, on the side and adhere to the card base.

Stamp two suitcases out, on white cardstock, using Archival (Potting soil) and Distress Oxide (Walnut Stain) and trim out. Overlap the suitcases and adhere to the card front.

Stamp the suitcase with words and stickers from different Darkroom Door sets. Add the paper doll to the card front.  Add some color to the flag by using the Cobalt and Red Geranium Archival inks.

Speckle the card with ink or paint.  Add the Brass look a like brads, to the suitcase, using the Pearl Pen by Viva.

Try It Tuesday~ a couple shelf sitters!

Hi guys!!

I have a fun re-purposed project to share. It is pretty easy too!!!

 I took Star Tart/Jello Tins and created  shelf sitters ~

Aren't these sweet.  I have never seen the Star type tart/jello tins before. 

I have had sea shells and buttons on the brain lately, so that is where I started.

I also had the super cute Paper Dolls by Tim Holtz, so I used them too :)

I filled the tins with small sea shells and small buttons.  I stuck the paper

 doll people down in the sea shell/button  mix.  Added a cute tag and call them "shelf sitters".

The paper dolls are made of a heavy paper which made it easy to stick in the mix of sea shells/buttons.  The "sister " shelf sitter really reminds me of two little "Hyde" girls.

 (Isn't my sister's bow pretty) 

Just having fun creating!! Just remember it doesn't 

have to be hard to make to be cute and fun!!
