the simple life with Authentique!

Hi guys!!
Hope you had an exciting and fun weekend.  We got to have the company
of two of our grands and they are always fun, that is (when they don't fight )!!
Love being with them !!!!

I really struggled with this page.  I loved the paper but had a hard time making it work.
I settled for this design and was happy with it.  The papers are gorgeous and very vintage looking. I layered several of them, to showcase the patterns, in the Homestead Collection.

The die cut cards are adorable and enhanced the page.

I love to speckle the page using Tumble Dye/Black by S.e.i.
We really feel like this is Our Little Slice of Heaven!!
See ya soon~

Wishes for you by S.e.i.~

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the Wishes for you Collection by S.e.i.  This collection has bright papers and is full of all kinds of stickers that work perfect for a scrapbook page or cards!

I love clustering embellishments, like stickers and die cuts, together in group.  Over lapping the stickers and popping them up adds dimension to your page and brings attention to the photo.

I love using the Tumble Dye as a mist when I have completed the layout.  It gives it a great look and so easy to apply.  Just take the lid off and tap with your finger and small drops will come out.  Very easy to control the dye this way.

September Tag with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here to share with my September tag using Clear Scraps products!

Set tag_clear scraps_c. mercer

Clear Scraps products used: acrylic tag, 6X6 stencils (Fruit of the Spirit, Diamond, Brick Wall and Chevron) and chipboard feather.
Other products: Acrylic paint, Gesso, Gel plate, Beacon adhesive, twine and trim.

Sept2
Instructions~

  • Remove plastic film from both sides of the acrylic tag.

  • Paint the front of the tag with Gesso and let it dry.

  • Set up your Gel Plate with the acrylic paint colors you want to use. I used four different colors. Using a brayer add color to the front of the tag.

  • When the top of the tag is dry, start using stencils to add dimension and design to the front of the tag.

  • Use the brayer to roll over the feather to add color to it, and then add a few stencil designs. Let dry.

  • Stencil on the word “Kindness”. Outline the letters with black acrylic paint and a small brush.

  • Adhere the feather to the center of the tag, with foam dimensional square adhesive.

  • Add twine and trim.

Try It Tuesday~ just make it pretty !

    Hi guys!
Thanks for stopping by for Try It Tuesday.  I was just messing around with my gel plate
adding some green and blue tones to print on a square piece of canvas.  I ended up with six different colors, of paint, on my canvas piece.

Not only did I get the canvas pieces painted, I also got a couple of pages in my
art journal prepared by cleaning the brayer on the journal pages
I have a couple of pages ready for stencils and stamps, just need to do it.
    I think I'm scared I'll like it :)

I decided I would make a cover for my pocket dictionary, that is used frequently.
I just folded over the ends, to make a flap, and then glued it together.

    Products used:
    Stencils: Clear Scraps, Faber Castell
    Acrylic paint: Deco Art
    Canvas: Canvas Corp
    Buttons: Buttons Galore & More
    Other: Gelli Arts, brayer

Thanks for stopping by, now go make something pretty :)

    Family Time with Quick Quotes~

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the Earth Wind Fire Collection (coming soon) by Quick Quotes.  Can't wait to share the full collection with you. Consider this a sneak peek!

Instructions to this are easy.  Use a favorite border punch to create a fun border and then punch another one.  So, two punched borders.  Shade both of the borders with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink. I'll list the ink names at the end.  Over lap them and adhere them to the side of the strip of paper, that has the photos on it.

Add color to the small camera embellishment using Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink. Set aside.  Using a stencil and Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink a chevron design was stenciled
in random places on the pattern paper.

Cluster stickers at the bottom and title your page.

    Quick Quotes products used:
Earth Wind Fire Collection (coming soon) ~ 108 and 105
Whistlin' Dixie : die cut chipboard and die cut stickers
Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink: Midnight Confession, Peach Tree and Barn Board

other: twine, stickers, metal die (family), small embellishments, stencil and trim.
