Sun & Surf Kit by Buttons Galore and More ~ Pencil Toppers!

Hi there!!
Today I'm sharing a FUN kid craft.
Perfect for Summer craft days. I'm using the
Sun and Surf Monthly Kit by Buttons Galore and More.

These were easy to make and FUN!!! The Fish flat backs are a little
wonky so that makes them perfect. Kids will love them!!

I used a 2" scalloped circle die and a 1 1/2" by Spellbinder to
get the shape.  I'm using some scraps of felt that I had in my stash.
The greeting tags are stamped on binding tape and then glued
in between the scalloped layers.

The little fish are called Aquarium / Flatbackz. They are in the kit.  
Glue one in the center of the pencil topper, along with some
flat back pearls.  Leave an opening for the pencil when adhering together.
Add the flat back pearls for water bubbles.  Complete with twine or ribbon.

A Kid Craft ~ Slime!!

Hi guys!

I have had my grands with me for 3 weeks. One of the things we did

 was make "slime".  It seems to be all the rage~

I had no idea how to make it, but they did!!

Ingredients for Slime:

Instructions:

1. 1/2 cup of Elmer's glue ~pour in small dish.

2.  Add 1/2 tsp. of baking soda

3. Add  food coloring or acrylic paint, either will work, for color.  You can also add a pleasant scent with essential oils.  

4. Add 1/2 cup shaving foam optional (makes the slime fluffy)

5. Add 2 tbsp contact solution, to activate the glue.

6. Mixture will be stringy.  Keep stirring and then start working it with your hands. This takes a few minutes.  

  It will look like the above and below pictures when it is ready.

Here the grands are making and being silly with the slime they made.  The mess was minimal.  It doesn't stick. You can pick the slime up with slime.

Pretty good aren't they.  I have had them last month for several (more than several) 

days and we had a great time creating.

We also did some stamp carving, sign painting and journals.  I show you those too!

Oh and cinnamon rolls, yes we did!!!

Try It Tuesday~ Watermelons, again!

All you need to create this cute watermelon refrigerator magnet is~

Brazil nuts (in the shell)

Acrylic paint ( red, black, white and green)

Paint sealer or Varnish

Magnet

Hot glue

Our area is known for delicious watermelons, so I kinda have a thing for

 watermelon decor in the Summer:)

  This is a simple project perfect for kids~

Instructions~

* Locate the nuts:) ~

this is where I got mine.

* Paint a line of green on the bottom front.

* Paint the red next. 

* Add a white scribble line between the green and red.

* Use a small rd #2 to make the black seeds.

* Varnish, let dry.

* Hot glue magnet to the back.

This is one of my kid crafts for this summer. (I will be operating the hot glue gun:)

Try It Tuesday~ Trail signs for the Ranch!

Hi guys!

Time for Try It Tuesday!!!!

I have 2 of my 6 grands, here for Spring Break, and we are making trail signs for the Ranch.  We are on day two.  We have done all the painting, naming of the trails and sealing the wood.  We even called and got  all of the grands involved in the naming of the trails.  We are ready for "grandy" to put our signs on the trees.

and it starts with this~ painting the signs that "grandy" cut from boards!
Each "grand" has two trails named after them.

We have 15 signs that the "grands" have named for the ranch.  Next project ~ a MAP!!!
We are going to map it out !!

the last of the "kid crafts"~

Hi everyone ~ I'm almost back home!  I saved the best for my last "kid art" post.  I love to see them create on their own with no imput from me~and here it is. The top are little books we made out of toy boxes and perfume boxes~the art inside is all theirs!!!

One word~adorable!!!

His super cute kite that he made for me!!! Love it!!!

I always find these precious little "cuties" on my desk after a visit from one of my grands!!! Brings a smile to my face every time.

more kid crafts~

We had such a fun time with theses t-shirts.  They used their hands, fingers and sharpie's to create their one of a kind t-shirt.  Before the day was over they were dreaming up all sorts of things to paint and use amrkers on.  They had such a "fun" time~and I did too!!  What a creative bunch of "grands" I have.

All it took was a 3 pack of t-shirts, acrylic paints, sponge brush and a black sharpie pen and off they went!!!

and here is my model~pretty cute!!!!  After the shirts were good and dry, I ironed the shirts {inside out} to set the paint and sharpie.  Have a good one {I'm still on vacation} stay tuned for more kid art.!!!  See ya soon!!

Try It Tuesday~make an apron

I had the my "grands" for a few days and we decided to get crafty.  This week I will be sharing our "crafty goodies" with you.  Today is the apron they helped decorate for me. I love it and will enjoy crafting in it~

The first thing I had them do was write their name on it with a sharpie.  They are a creative bunch so hearts were added also!!! 

Next were the hand prints they had a blast getting their hands painted.  They laughed and said it tickled!!

I have two more cuties to add ~ so I left room for their hand prints.  I will do the other two with blue paint.  I used acrylic paint by Making Memories.  I splattered  the apron using an old tooth brush~worked great!!!
