Vintage Street Market~Experience and Opportunity!!!

Remember the game board Monopoly?  Remember the cool game pieces that came with the game?  The orange and yellow cards came in pretty handy this month on my projects for Vintage Street Market. Re-purposing items that we don't use are always full of Opportunity and some Experience may be needed to get the best results:):). Just kidding~trying to make a rhythm.

This can double for a card or an envelope to put a small gift in.  Vintage Street Market has a bunch of new items in the store by some of our favorite scrapbooking manufactures and guess what~they fuse together with Vintage Street Market products so well.  That is what this is an example of.

Here we have a pincushion made with products from Vintage Street Market.  I hope you stop in and see all the new items stocked in the store that fuse together with the Vintage Street Market look!!
You can see my post Here and I have all the products linked to the store.

Try It Tuesday~with Bags of Love!!!!

Hi everyone~look what Bags of Love sent me using my original photo!!!  I have already loaded it up and used it.  Such a beautiful tote!!!

I emailed them my photo and the rest of the work was left up to them.  The bag is a Shopper bag.  It is light weight and perfect for the beach or gym.  The handles are leather and so durable.  You can choose your own color trim.  They carry four different colors to pick from.  The inside is made of a white waterproof lining.  The bag also has pockets inside for small items.

The photo is reproduced on canvas which is then made into the front of the bag. It measures 13.5 X 13.5.  Love that size.  I can even use it as a scrapbooking bag, to hold paper and embellishments, to take to a crop or class.

Here is my bag all loaded with snacks to take to my granddaughter's soccer game.  It worked perfect and looked fabulous!!!!!  She 's the Blondie #16!!!
Thank You Bags of Love for my gift!!!  I hope you will check out their website.  They have many items you can put a photo on and what a unique gift~so personal and special!

Hosie's chair~

The man in the picture is showing off some of his wood working crafts.  Hosie was his name and he was my dad's uncle.  He loved making things.  I can only imagine the craft supplies back in the 30's, pretty much what you could find in the tool shed was what you had to craft with.

He made this chair for my dad when dad was a very young boy.   My dad remembered it was painted baby blue so he restored the chair and painted it baby blue, like he remembered.  I love stories like this!  My grand girls have played with this chair putting their dolls and teddy bear in it.  My grand boys would sit in it.  My dad loved seeing the grands play with his chair!!!  Sweet memories!!!!

Try It Tuesday~ the re-purpose of a rotary phone !

This is no ordinary rotary phone~this is the HYDE rotary phone that was in our home during the time I was growing up.  My brother gave it to me this past week.  Many hours of talking to boys and my BFF on this phone.  It still has our same phone number in the center of the dial.

I wanted to show how you can dress up the dial portion and hang notes or comments off of the dial part~

Then I covered a thread spool with some JBS paper.  I added a clip to the center of the spool, making a place to hold a photograph.

I used big glue dots ( big ones) to hold the spool in place {in the hand grip} under the head set.  I did this so if I got another idea to use the phone for, it could be easily taken off.

It will hold notes, photographs and a BUNCH of fond memories made by our family.  I was so tickled my brother gave it to me!!! See ya soon~

Cards using Darkroom Door Doilies set~

Hi everyone~I have some cards for you today!  I used Darkroom Door's Doilies set for this. The paper is Graphic45.  I also used the word strip and photochips by Darkroom Door.

The ink is by Stampin' Up!  These cards are 5 x5.  I added a tie at the top so you can hand deliver or tie the card to a package or gift bag.

On this card set I used the Tim Holtz  kraft glassine paper to make the flowers.  The die is by Tim Holtz/Sizzix.

It is always fun to scrunch the flowers up to give them that tattered look we all love.

Here is the last one. The spritz I used is by Tattered Angels.  Added a few Primas and buttons to finish the cards. See ya tomorrow for Try It Tuesday~

Try It Tuesday~metal stamping.

For Try It Tuesday I wanted to share what I have been playing around with~metal stamping on spoons and forks.  My friend Betsy over at My Salvaged Treasures put this bug in my ear.  I saw what she did and wanted to give it a try.  If you look at Betsy's post she talks about fonts and sizes.

You can use either one of these to stamp on~sledge hammer head or an anvil.

My metal stamps are by Impress Art / font is newsprint.  The size is 3mm.

I taped my spoon down so it wouldn't move on me.
The H is slanted but I love slanted H's!!!:):):)

I used a black paint dapper and then wiped the paint off so it would stay in the crevices.

I glued a clip on the back so I could use it to hold a photo.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I'm going to be gone for a while~my dad has gone to be with the Lord.
