Try It Tuesday~ out dated phone books, keep em'!!!!

Hi guys!

A fun post today.  You know that stack of out dated phone books pull

a couple out before you get rid of the stack, trust me on this~

they are fun to craft with.  The tissue type paper covered in text make the thin dies

 so easy to cut several layers at one time.  They are great for journal pages

 and collage pages too.  I made vintage flowers !!!

Instructions:

1. Tear three to four pages out together (keep them together) and use a spray mist

 or ink to add color.

2. Heat dry to speed the process up. Add as many colors as you like.  Watercolors

 would be great too.

3. The half sheet made two complete flowers.  Each flower section has three layers.
 Scrunch the layers up for more dimension.  

4. Staple in the center, to hold the flower together. Shade with ink.

This was a fun card to make.  I was very eager to use the new Wendy Vecchi / Note Pad stamp and the Coffee Quotes stamps by Joy Clair.  They look great!! My inspiration was ~wait coffee first, then start on my list to do.  The pretty paper is by Quick Quotes.  I used Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks to shade the inside mat of the card.

Try It Tuesday~Flair!!

Hi guys!!

Let's talk about "flair" ~ I have more than my share that is for

 sure, but I love creating with them.  Recently I won a give-away, on facebook, from 

A Flair for Buttons.  I was familiar with their product and really loved all the

 different images they sell in their Etsy shop.  This is a project I did

 using some of the flair I won a few weeks ago~

A simple design, telling a story, about the cool kids!!!  Four cousins spending

 weeks together and getting along fabulously!!

Created a photo strip (love doing that) and added decorative

 borders to both sides.

I thought this piece of flair was perfect and went

 along with my story of the cool kids.

Darkroom Door April challenge ~ Mother's Day card

Hi guys!

The monthly challenge for Darkroom Door Inspiration

 Facebook page is a Mother's Day card. You have until the end of April to post

 your card on the Darkroom Door Inspiration  page.   

The background was created using the lrg Mesh stencil and the sm. Ferns stencil. Archival Black ink was used. The Succulents were were stamped with Distress Oxides and then embossed. I love the texture the embossing gives them. The sentiment is from the All Occasions set.

A vintage piece of music paper was rolled and added with some green twine and buttons, to

 complete the card.

Thanks for stopping in for another Art Journal page.  Still learning~

This was another page that was started by cleaning the brayer (from gel press project) using acrylic paint by DecoArt.  I filled in with Distress Oxides.  Washi tape, stencils and stamps were used to complete the background.

The Past Due stamp is a vintage office stamp.  I thought it went perfect with my page. The quote stamp is stamped on vintage text paper.

Hi guys!!

Wanted share a card made from pieces I saved.

Stamped images. backgrounds and cardstock pieces saved to make

another project!

The background was created using Distress Oxide inks on watercolor paper.

The crayon image was stamped on white cardstock and cut out individually. 

The mason jar was stamped directly on the background and then

  colored in using Distress Oxide ink.  All of the stamped

 images are stamps by Darkroom Door.

Sea Shells in December~ Darkroom Door and Stampington!

One of my all time favorite sets!! I'm always looking for ways to use this set.

 set by Tim Holtz too!!!  So fun!

Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with Clear Scraps!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for joining me for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!!

I have a couple of cards to share using the Cup Overflow Border Stencil

 by Clear Scraps along with some modeling paste and Tumble Dye by S.E.I.

The S.E.I. Tumble Dye was sprayed, on watercolor paper, to create a background

 and a space to place the cup stencil, using the modeling paste. 

The modeling paste was applied twice to create a rich, white cup, in color.

The sentiment tag was created to resemble a hand stitched tag

 (like what is in the back of a shirt).

Inking diecuts with Quick Quotes~

Hi, Connie here with a card, using the Windsong Collection by Quick Quotes.  I wanted to share with you how easy it was to add color to a diecut with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks.

The ivy cluster, circling the quote, is a diecut.  It was cut out of white cardstock making it really easy to color it any color I needed.

I wanted the ivy to match the buttons and the card base, so I used Light Moss PowderPuff Chalk ink by Quick Quotes.

I inked the ivy while still attached and then punched them after they were colored.  I continued to shade around the edges of the leaves adding depth to the ivy.

The Quick Quote PowderPuff Chalk inks are so fun to use and very user friendly. They come in all different shades and are beautifully rich in color.

Framed Art with Buttons Galore & More~

Hi, Connie here with Buttons Galore & More design team sharing a framed art piece using Victorian accents by Buttons Galore & More.  The themed button selections were the perfect accent for this framed art piece. The beautiful thing about these Victorian accent buttons you can change the color so easy.  Spray paint works great!

The frame was painted with acrylic paint and sanded for a vintage look and feel.  The inside piece is vintage dictionary paper stenciled with the word "create".   Black acrylic paint was used for the stenciling.  The flowers were wrapped with twine and adhered to the side of the frame with strong glue.

The Heirloom Keepsakes buttons were glued to the side of the flower cluster.  They come in several different colors.  I used the light green ones for this project.

The Victorian Rose buttons and the Gold Filigree corners were spray painted a pewter color and adhered to each inside corner of the frame.  The Filigree corner was attached first and then the Victorian Rose button next.  The shanks were clipped off, using wire snips, to give a flat surface to adhere.  The framed art was splattered with black and pewter paint.  That process was achieved  by spraying a puddle of paint, on a paper plate, and then using a toothbrush to splat the paint on the frame.  Old technique but still one of my favorites!

Today I have a card to share using a stamp from Fun Stampers Journey.  

They have some really cool stamps (along with other really cool crafty stuff).

I used another funky label I had collected and used the gorgeous feather stamps as

 a background stamp too.  Tip ~When adding color to the stamp, hit it with different ink pads for a unique, one of a kind look.  Love doing that :)

Fun Stampers Journey~ new stamps!!!

Hi guys!

I recently purchased some stamps by Fun Stampers Journey and loved them~no

 I'm not selling just creating:)

I had a fun, vintage inspired label and added it to the card for that eclectic look. The watermelon pops are paper pieced.  I didn't get to fussy with this, just had fun creating with new stamps. Not sure about the paper but I think it is Canvas Corp. 

I also tried some of the inks. Loved them too!!
