Pumpkins from the past ~ Fall fun!!!

Hi!!
Turkey day is almost here.  I love Smoked Turkey and
Pumpkin Pie! and Sweet Potatoes and homemade
Chicken and Noodles. So Grateful!! I could go on and on as I'm 
sure you could too.  Anyway I thought I would share some
past projects using these key words I have highlighted.
Hope you enjoy ~

I used these as toppers for the Pumpkin Pie one year
at Thanksgiving.  The kids ended up taking them a turkey home:)
Using Sizzix die by Tim Holtz.

My youngest son made this Turkey in kindergarten and I still
have it.  Made with pipe cleaners and a spool, feathers, hand 
drawn turkey head.

A spooky clip board. Using products by Clear Scraps.  A fun one!!

Love this Fall card using stamps by Darkroom Door
and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Using Pouring Medium by DecoArt to cover some old
Pumpkins (Dollar Store) that had seen a better day.  Love the
mixed media look!!

This is a wood pallet by Clear Scrap.  Still put this on my door.

Creating a Plaid Background with your Adhesive on the Outside ~ Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

 Hi!
I have been seeing this technique around so I thought I
would give it a try.  Pretty easy and loved the 
results.  It is taking the E-Z Runner Grand Repositionable
Dots Dispenser by Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L to create a
plaid look for the background of the card.

Basically you are putting the adhesive down and rubbing it off.
I have all the details over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
Blog.  I hope you will take a look ~ it's a fun one.

• 1. Getting supplies ready. You will need E-Z Runner Grand Repositionable Dots Refillable Dispenser, Distress Oxide Ink / Spiced Marmalade and a stamp.
  2. Apply the Distress Oxide Ink to the card front using a foam applicator.
  3. Starting from top to bottom lay down the Repositionable Dots Adhesive. Then turn the cardstock and go horizontally with the adhesive.
  4. Using you finger rub off the repositionable adhesive. The plaid design will star to show. When all the adhesive is removed spray the card front with water and then dab off. This will give you a distressed look.

Hand Carved Pumpkin Stamps Make Cute Cards~

 Hi guys!!
I know it is October and everyone wants to see 
"scary" but how about pumpkins?  I created with hand
carved pumpkin stamps and created three different cards.  No
Jack-O-Lanterns either ~ just plain ole' pumpkins.
Let me show you~

I had the best time creating these.  Different but so FUN!!
These cards were created was publication but they didn't 

get picked :(:(.

Try It Tuesday~Paint Pouring with DecoArt~Pumpkins!

Hi guys!

I have a project using the paint pour technique by DecoArt.  I started with three really

 old plastic pumpkins from Wal-mart.  They have seen many fall seasons. 

I had the idea to create the marble effect, on the pumpkins, that is so popular.

So I started with this ~

I had painted the pumpkins many times over the years.  They were all

 different shades of orange.  Another reason I loved the paint pour idea!!

Instructions:

1. Prepare the area for the pour.  

2. Choose paint colors, add to cups.

3. Add pouring medium (2:1 paint to pouring medium)

4. Stir each color with stick.

5. Combine each color into one cup.

6. Pour over object.

Designer note~

The top pumpkin has an undercoat of acrylic paint.  I found out the paint doesn't drip all the way down because it is a round object.  I ended using my hands, to add color from the paint that had dripped off, to the bottom of this pumpkin.  The second picture, the undercoat of paint, was painted on about 3/4 of the pumpkin~worked much better.  The pumkins dried for about 8 hours before the Top Coat was applied.

Hot glue was used to secure jute around the stems of the pumpkins.  I painted the Top Coat (instead of doing the pouring method) on with a soft brush. I wanted the bottom and underneath, of the pumpkin) covered also. Worked great!

felt (bottom of pumpkins)

twine

hot glue

I have been working with some old product, as in 2011.

I know........ sigh!

But it is Bella Blvd and it works for these pictures~so take a look.

Try It Tuesday~carving a Pumpkin, my way!

Hi guys!!

I have a fun project for you to try.  Carving a Pumpkin~ sound easy? It is!!

First draw one, then draw it on rubber~

That is the first step to carving a Pumpkin stamp :):) 

 I like carving this kind of Pumpkin~ no mess!!! And it doesn't rot after a few weeks.

I'm calling this my Fall set!!! The Pumpkin leaves are so small, I mounted each leaf

 on a cork, so I would have a better handle when stamping with them.

  Worked great!!!

I did two projects using this set~

A couple of cards~

I used Darkroom Door background stamp/wire and

 the sentiment stamp is by Avocado Arts.  The ink is by Ranger.

Next project~

You always have cupcake topper's if you own stamps:):)

Clear Scraps~Fall magnets!

Hi guys~

I'm up over on Clear Scraps with a very cute and easy project.  It all came about because I wanted some "Falllish" magnets for my kitchen.  You remember the old refrigerator door,  right?

Try It Tuesday~ another pumpkin and apron!!!

 Hi guys~

Yes another pumpkin. I had three that needed some TLC for sure.  This is no. #2.

I have done one more for Clear Scraps so be looking for that one in Nov.

I re-painted and covered the stem with burlap and started arranging flowers and fall leaves around the stem.

 The flower made out of netting is buy The Curtsey Boutique, gorgeous, right?

That flower was the inspiration for this piece.

I put felt on the bottom of the pumpkin. Makes it nice for sitting on tables.

Nuts About You ~ Avocado Arts!

Hi guys~take a look at these cute:):):) cards I made, using this months stamp set, by Avocado Arts called Nuts About You!!!  There are several things I like about this set~one being, the squirrel.  I love the pop-out eyes.

 I stamped him twice and cut the eyes out and popped them up.

 The scare-crow is very fun and the leaves, so crisp!!

 I tried something different on the pumpkins.  I stamped on the backside of the pattern paper and then cut it out.  Then I added a little detail with marker pens.  Oh, and the stump, do you see the heart? Loved that added touch.

The Curtsey Boutique~ a pumpkin re-make!!!

 

Just in case you missed this~my first blog post for The Curtsey Boutique ( awesome Etsy shop).

I did a pumpkin re-make:)

This is what it looked like when I took it down from the attic:(:(

I know, sad sad shape!

So with the help of The Curtsey Boutique, I did a re-make.  I glued it back together and then painted it again with some orange acrylic paint.   Then I started arranging these gorgeous, handmade, satin flowers.  I added some green moss and I covered the pumpkin stem with burlap.

Welcome Fall~

Hi everyone~this is a layout that I submitted to Stamping.Stationery.And Scrapbooking {Hobby Lobby Magazine} and was not picked up.  I love Fall, it is my favorite time of the year. The Fall color palette is so beautiful!!!  This is done using The Paper Studio, Prima, American Crafts, Making Memories and cardstock.

The pumpkin is a paper piecing using three oval punch outs.  Lay two of them side by side and put the third one in the center and adhere. I have a short tutorial HERE.
