Christmas Tree button pins with Buttons Galore & More~

Hi, Connie here with Buttons Galore & More design team sharing some really cute, wintery Christmas Tree pins.  The pins were created using a beautiful mix of buttons called Winter Wonderland.  They are beautiful and perfect for this project.

These were created using a triangle shaped piece of wood but chipboard would work also.

Supplies needed:
Gorgeous Winter Wonderland buttons by Buttons Galore & More, wood or chipboard shaped triangles, pin backs, felt, strong glue and acrylic paint.

Instructions:
  1. Paint the back and sides of the triangle shape.  Sit aside to dry.
  2. Trace triangle shapes on felt and trim out.
  3. When paint is completly dry, glue felt on front (not painted) of triangle shape.
  4. Using strong glue place buttons on the front of the traingle and glue them in place, creating a tree.
  5. Repeat this step for all triangle shapes.
  6. Let dry about 10 minutes .
  7. Glue pin backs on the backside of the tree pin.
  8. Add the sticker word oon top of the buttons.
  9. Attach to a gift card.

I used die cut cards, that come with sets of paper, to attach the Christmas Tree pins to.  I love the beauty of the button mix. These colors really scream Winter to me.  Another idea to give the Christmas Tree pins a different look is to add ribbon or twine,  or highlight the buttons with ink or paint.  So many ways to personalize these pins. How about one in each color!!!

These are so easy to make and will make sweet little gifts to share with teachers and family friends!  Great family night project for the kids to join in on.  The beautiful thing about buttons, they are gorgeous and easy to work with.  Always leaving you with a beatiful and unique project!!!

Thanks for stopping by~

Christmas tree pins~ with JBS and Basically Bare!!!

Hi everyone ~I thought I would share with you these lapel pins I made using Jenni Bowlin Studio banner chipborad pieces.  They make a nice tree when you turn them up side down:):):)

The first thing is I got my scrap bag out.  You need just a small piece of paper.  I used the Haven line, because that's what I had:)  Cover the chipboard, add your tree trunk { I used thickers cut down}, the back is covered with felt and then the lapel pin is hot glued to that.

The words are by Cosmo Cricket.  I have attached them to my biz card to give as gifts.

These are the banner pieces by Basically Bare.  I glued the canvas ones to the chipboard ones to make the pin stronger.  I painted the canvas and added lace and some JBS stars { the red and the topper star}!!

The banner pieces make adorable Christmas tree pins and they are easy, not so quick but the time is well worth the end results!!

Here is a look at the back of the pin~
Thanks for stopping by today~I have 2 more days left on the Scrap Awards, still time to vote HERE.
See ya soon~

Try it Tuesday ~ Epiphany Crafts at CHA

Hi everyone~this week is CHA { Craft and Hobby Association} in Chicago ***sigh*** ~wish I was there BUT some of my work will be there and that is what I will be sharing with you this week!!

I used Cosmo Cricket pattern paper for the flowers. The big flowers were perfect~
The centers are from Epiphany Crafts round 14 round bubble cap. The crazy, cute oval is also Epiphany Crafts ~ looks kinda of shabby chic~don't you think?

This a vintage enamel lid ~ minus the pot.  The flowers are hand cut with detail scissors. I glued them on and used Helmar's Zapdots for dimension. The 14 round bubble cap is set inside the vintage setting Clubhouse.

Super cute project and enjoyed using Epiphany Crafts button studio for my custom, one of a kind, button.

This is a happy birthday card using the Epiphany Crafts Frayed Flowers and the 14 round buttons.  I cut the flowers in half  to make them look like watermelons~super cute!!!  The paper is Jillibean Soup.  It was glued down with Helmar's 450 Quick Dry!!

Here is a close~up of the jar of watermelon juice!!  Stick around this week for the rest of the Epiphany Crafts ~CHA projects.  Hope to see you!!
Saturday I participated in a  Color Combo Blog Hop ~ I really appreciate those of you that stopped by and my blog followers.  The winner of the goodies is~

Driving takes practice~

Hi everyone~happy to start sharing with you the work I did for CHA {Craft and Hobby Association}using Epiphany Craft's fabulous button studio's!!   This one of my projects that will displayed in Epiphany Craft's booth. The paper I used on this is from Cosmo Cricket.  I was lucky enough to use the Epiphany Craft's oval on this one.  It is one of my favorite shapes that they make. I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry to adhere buttons to the page.

This is my granddaughter's first driving lesson~so cute!! We only hit one tree!! In the above picture she has her foot on top of Grandy's foot, thinking she is giving it the gas, but everything is not as it seems! LOL!

Here is a good look at those ovals!  You will be seeing more of the ovals and my beautiful family!! Have a wonderful weekend ~ I will be in a blog hop Saturday{with a RAK} hope you stop in.  See ya soon!

Try it Tuesday~material flowers!

Is this not the cutest flower ever~so much fun to make~so welcome to Try it Tuesday!!! We are going to make flowers, using Glubers as our base and material!

First you will need Glubers by Cosmo Cricket and material strips 2 1/2" strips wide by 44" long.  I don't sew ~ so I hope that is right.  This is a quilters round of coordinated fabric.

Fold the strip of material in half and sew a loose running stitch all the way down the fabric.

As you get to the end of the fabric start gathering it up~it will look like this ( so easy and fast) and did I say fast~ love that part and cute~love that part, too!!!

Then you are ready to start wrapping the fabric around the largest Gluber (3") until the Gluber is covered.

The  last thing I did was add felt to the back of the Gluber.  Then you can sew a button in the middle or what you like.  I ended up making three and they all turned out different sizes~so I think that the size depends on how tight you gather the fabric.

My niece wanted hers for her hair~so I sewed the bobby pin on the back, Sis is going to use hers as a pin and I'm putting mine on a tote.  So give it a go and have some fun!!  See ya soon!!

Cosmo Cricket on Shimelle's sketch~

Hi everyone~This is a layout I did using a sketch by Shimelle~her sketches really rock. This one is for four photos and then I added the journal box to the top of the photo folder.  The pattern paper is by Cosmo Cricket as is the Gluebers (ric rac flower).  I used Epiphany heart button studio for the center of the flower.  Love those hearts ~so I added a couple more!!!

This is showing a peek of the photo under the folder.  This design is so clever!!! I will be doing this sketch again and again!!!   You can even add a photo on the top, of the folder, and one on the bottom of the folder~adding another photo to the layout for a total of six pictures!!!  If you down size the pictures even more !!

Here is a close~up of the photo folder.  It measures a little less than a 4X6 in size.  Love this design and all the possibilities it brings to a layout!!!  Hope you will check out all of Shimelle's sketches~they are brilliant!!!
have a great weekend and I'll see ya soon!!!

Try it Tuesday~with gluebers and a *****winner*****

Hi everyone~thanks for stopping in for Try it Tuesday.  Several of you asked how I made the flowers using the gluebers~so I did a few tutorials on them.  This flower uses antique lace.  I started on the outside and went around the glueber~sticking the lace down as I went.  When I got to the center I just clipped the lace and tucked it in the center.

On this one I used flat ribbon and twisted it as I placed it on the glueber.  I started in the center and worked around, twisting the ribbon as I went.  When I ran out of glueber ~ I cut my ribbon and picked the backside of the glueber and tucked the end underneath the flower.

For this one I used gathered trim on both sides. I started going around the glueber on the outside doing a up and down pattern.  I kept doing that ~ when I reached the center I cut the trim and tucked it in the center.
For all the flowers I used Prima flower centers.  So many ideas for what to use for the centers~buttons, rhinestones or plain. I glued the centers in with Helmar's 450 Quick Drying adhesive.

I placed them out on some tags, with some Jenni Bowlin Journal spots to show you how pretty they are!!

Gluebers are manufactured by Cosmo Cricket!! Wish I had thought of these!! These are super fun!!!
and now the***** winner******** from the "Color Combo Blog Hop" is

Color Combo Blog Hop~with a RAK!!!!

Welcome to the Color Combo Blog Hop!!!
If you arrived from http://snapsandsnippets.blogspot.com/ you are in the right place! If you are here and didn’t come from the previous blog, I am listing the hop below my post so you can go start back at the beginning if you wish!

I love the color combo that was picked ~the turquoise and blue with some sand colors, looks awesome together!! This is a gift card~the paper size is about a 4 X 11 1/2. I embossed the cardtsock with a desired image, double matted to get all of the color combos in.

The flower is made with some vintage trim and Gluebers by Cosmo Cricket.  Making those flowers is some serious fun, let me tell you!!!!  The ticket is by Jenni Bowlin and so is the button.

Ric Rack trim makes an awesome flower using the Gluebers as the foundation for the perfect flower!! I also added a little brown paper bag for a gift card.  To close the card I tied bakers twine around several time and tied a bow.  To open the card slip the bakers twine up on the front of the card to close it up slip it back down.  I am including the list of peep's particapating in the Color Combo Blog Hop~

Beyond Blogging for Scrapbookers~

Good morning~I have found my "go to" sketch~ thanks to Shimelle.  The three pictures across the bottom  really works for me.  I love the outcome everytime. No second guessing!!!  It is not to late for you to participate in this FREE class sponsored by 2Peas

The pattern paper is by Kaiser/Shaken Not Stirred Collection.  The paper collection is not current but very fitting for these photos.  The close-up is showcasing the title area.   The effect of using two different sizes of sticker letters ~ is quite nice!!  The large letters are by American Crafts and the small ones by Cosmo Cricket.

This is a close-up of the bottom cluster.  Boy clusters always seem simple~no frills, simple. I like that!!  The "dog card" is by October Afternoon and adhered to the page with Helmar. This blog post was an assignment for Beyond Blogging for Scrapbookers by Shimelle.  The class is amazing and I'm learning so much about the world of blogging~
Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful Easter weekend!!!
