Creating Made Easy April Kit~Pocket Page

Hi, Connie here with a pocket page to share, using the Creating Made Easy April Kit and the 12" acrylic sheets by Clear Scraps. This is a great project for saving memorabilia together with the photos that were taken at the event.  I love keeping it all together. So easy to create and the pocket holds plenty!


Photo Strip Instructions:
First lets create the photo strips that are in the pocket.  By printing the photos smaller and adhering them on a strip of paper,  more photos can be shared on one page.  I'm all about one page capturing the entire event.


Four photos are collaged on  4" X 6" photo paper and printed out.  The collage is cut down the middle giving two photo strips.  Mount the photo strips on pattern paper.  You can make as many as you need to tell your story.


Memorabilia and Photo Pocket instructions:
Cut a piece of pattern paper 12" x 4", shade with ink and use a decorative border punch on the top edge. Shade with ink when finished.  This will be the pocket that holds the memorabilia and photo strips.


Chipboard Guitar Instructions:
Ink the chipboard guitar with Distress Oxide/Vintage Photo, cover with clear embossing powder, shake off the extra and emboss with a heating tool.


Instructions to assemble the Pocket Page:
Remove plastic film from both sides of the 12" X 12" acrylic sheet.  Add the pocket to the bottom of the acrylic page using Beacon adhesive or a tape runner. Mount the focal photo on the top left.  Mat with coordinating pattern papers from the Creating Made Easy April Kit. Turn the acrylic page over, to the backside of the pocket page, an adhere glue (Beacon 527) to the areas where the pocket was adhered and the focal photo.  Those spots of glue will hold the background pattern paper in place without showing glue stains through the acrylic ( sometimes happens).  Tag a small drop of glue in each top corner of the pattern paper, so the paper is secure.  Lay the acrylic front over the pattern paper you are using for the background.


Add the chipboard embossed guitar to the pocket and continue to decorate with stickers.  Add photo strips and memorabilia to the pocket.  Journal the event and add the journal card to the pocket, if you like.  Speckle lightly, with acrylic paint, on the pocket (be sure to cover the top of the page with scrap paper before you speckle).

Urban Oasis with Quick Quotes~

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page that will hold memorabilia along with that favorite photo.. Using the Urban Oasis Collection by Quick Quotes made this project come together nicely.

Start with two 12" papers and cut 3" off one of them. Adhere on 3 sides and you have a pocket to hold memorabilia in.  If you have heavy memorabilia then the papers would need to be attached a different way.  Look for my blog post with Quick Quotes coming soon to address that.

The arrow was stamped using Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk ink/Barn Board.  Such a rich red color.

Making a pocket page with Quick Quotes~

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook pocket page using the Earth Wind Fire collection (released soon) by Quick Quotes. I was asked to keep the memorabilia with the photos, so I came up with this pocket page.

I started with five photos and a bunch of memorabilia from the Indy 500.  One of the brochures was heavy and thick so I needed something that wouldn't pull apart.

 Instructions:
1. You will need two pieces of  the same pattern 12 x 12  paper.  Cut the salvage off the bottom.
2. Cut a one inch strip from a coordinating pattern in the collection.  Score down the middle.
3. Adhere strong adhesive on one side of the one inch strip and lay the pattern paper in the slot.  See #2 in collage.
4. Do the other side the same way.  You have made a hinge that won't pull apart. See #6 in collage.
5. Before we make the pocket, go ahead and punch out a one inch half circle, making it easier to pull out the memorabilia in the soon to be pocket page. See #4 in collage.

6. Adhere each side with strong adhesive and clamp.  Let dry and set .
By doing the hinge at the bottom, the pocket page won't come apart even with heavy memorabilia in it.

The front of the pocket holds 5 photos. Two on the outside and three on the inside.

Make the fold up the size you need it, kinda of like a card, folding up to reveal the other photos.  I will have my son journal the event on the white space at the top.

A Pocket Page with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a pocket scrapbook page but with a twist!  I used one acrylic sheet by Clear Scraps with an acrylic word.



Instructions:
1. Cut 1" off one side of the 12 x1 12 acrylic sheet by Clear Scraps.
2. Adhere the acrylic to the pattern paper using Beacon 3-IN-1.  The opening to the pocket will be Horizontal.
3. Add washi tape for design on bottom and top of page.



 4. Use Black StazOn Ink and add color to the acrylic word (Purrfect).



5.  The page should look like this~



6. Next step is the photo collage.  This is a good project for all those photos, that go to one event,  to keep them together.

 

7. Make tabs for the photo pages.
8. Decorate the front of the Acrylic sheet.  For added interest,  I used the 12 Chevron stencil by Clear Scraps with black StazOn ink on the front acrylic page.
