Hi, Connie here with a patriot craft that uses the Pallet (fence) shape by Clear Scraps. I turned it on its side and saw a flag, waving in the wind, so that is where I started. The Pallet shapes are cut from Birch wood right here in the good ole' USA. I favor American Made products and that is what Clear Scraps is ~ Made in America!!
I created a few step out photos, so the process, of masking off the flag stripes could be shown easily.
To create the blue part of the flag, mark with a pencil the center of the pallet fence shape. Mask off two rows down (as shown in the first photo).
The second and third photo show how the red and white stripes were masked off. The tape used is painters tape.
After the stripes were steniled in, a messy black line was applied by using a liner paint brush. It cleans up the paint lines really good and gives the flag a primative look.
I used stencils by Clear Scraps to add the words, the chevrons, the ship lap and the stars to the flag.
The chipboard Stars, by Clear Scraps, were embossed with gold embossing powder and then adhered to the flag in random places.
I have it on my craft room door~just love it!!!!
