Try It Tuesday~with Trudy:)

Hi everyone~glad to be blogging today.  Had a big scare yesterday but all is good thanks to Julie Tucker Wolek I won't go into it, but just to say,  if Google asks for your cell phone numbe ~give it to them or they will disable your blog until you do:):):). I learned the hard way!!!

These are pins I made using egg shells and I learned this over at True's Gifts From The Heart!!  This girl is on Helmar's design team { Trudy Sjolander} and is pretty crafty!!  She posted these on her blog and I asked her if I could share the technique on my blog.  She has an amazing tutorial on her blog that will walk you through step by step.

These are the two pins I did ~a heart and butterfly using these~EGG SHELLS{yep, from a chicken}!!

I did mine a little different~I used Claudine Hellmuth's sticky back canvas to cover my Tim Holtz's grunge paper.  I used things I had and they worked fine. I used Helmar's decoupage to adhere the egg shell and then put a coat of sealer over it to give it a glossy shine.  I hope you will go see the video up on her blog~HERE is the direct link. Please tell her I sent you!!!

Junkin' finds~

Hi everyone~it is rainy and cold here but we never turn rain down.  I did get a short junkin' trip this past Saturday and this is what I found and what I did with some of my finds!!!  First up this amazing old spool of factory yarn.  Makes a great pin cushion~old photos would look great!!!

Next~old flash cards and another fold up and out yard stick!!!  I have two of these but just couldn't walk past it!!!

I'm not sure what this is but I'm sure it would make a great storage piece~so this what I did with it.  It is about a 12"x12".

I put Jenni Bowlin product cards{cause I save everything Jenni} in the bottom, just to clean it up a bit!!!

By doing this I could free up some valuable space on my work table!!!

I'm up over on Epiphany Craft's blog today and have some wonderful "scrappy" news to share~just not sure if I can share so maybe I better wait a day or two until I know!!! Be sure and stop over for Try It Tuesday~I something really cool to show you!! Have a great day and see ya soon!!!

a little Epiphany Crafts~

Good morning!!!!  Hope you are up and at it ~ what ever that maybe!!!  This is a camera pin { as I call it} because I love the way it looks on my camera bag.  I used a Canvas Corp. flower and added a flower by Pink Paislee to the center and then made a dangle from Epiphany Crafts square charm and square bubble cap. The resin flowers are by Prima and I added a vintage key.

Here it is again~would look great on a denim jacket too!!  I used Helmar's Gemstone glue on this one and Helmar's 450 Quick Dry on the card below!!

Also did this simple little card using the Epiphany Crafts bubble cap oval~my favorite shape!!! I find myself reaching for the oval more and more.  Hope to get some junkin' in this weekend{I must be well if I want to go junkin'}  Have a great weekend and see ya soon!!!

It holds all of my Epiphany Crafts tools, re-fills and flowers all in one handy dandy place.
Here's another one ~remember this~

The one on  the left was my grandma's glue and the one on the right is my glue~this is one time I will take new over vintage.  Helmar's 450 Quick Dry is my "go to glue"!!!!

Try It Tuesday~remember this........

Hi everyone~do you remember these?  I found them on one of my junkin' trips~today for Try It Tuesday I'm going to show you what I did with them!!!! Most of the time I have an idea what direction I'm going to take with my layout but not this time.  I knew I wanted to use Jenni Bowlin the new {new to me} line Haven so I started there.

This has some Elle's Studio on it too. Love the little banner and date box pieces!! The title is Jillibean Soup and I sprayed it with a red mist to color it.

A close-up of the bits & pieces and the "grands"~I just want to STOP the clock, they are growing so fast and fabulous!!!!

Then I got an idea to make some journal tags{to use on my layouts} with the clock flash cards~keeping with the TIME theme.  The embellishments are mostly Jenni Bowlin~

Here is another take on using the flash cards as journal tags~Did you notice also the bolt of yarn~it makes a great display piece, just get a stick pin and your project to the yarn to photograph!!! Love the look~
On all the projects I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry {my go to glue} and Helmar Zap Dots!!!

First post for 2012

Hi everyone~welcome to 2012!!!!!!  We have been traveling and I have been sick { so when I posted I was trying to get sick~I did!!!}  We had a great time at my parents { even though I was in bed for two days}. I'm glad to be home , I'm even glad for the ton of work piled on my desk~counting my blessings!!!!
This is a layout using a no longer in business line of paper~Foo-Fa-la { by Autumn Leaves}.  I always liked the vintage look this paper line had.

The journal space is a rub-on!! I rarely use rub-ons, don't have good luck with them but this turned out great!!  Maybe my luck is changing LOL!!!!

Here is another using some older papers~it is by Fancy Pants!! Both of these layout's were for Ready, Set, Create e-zine.  The beautiful flowers are by Tammy Bonifcio.  She has a Etsy shop but I don't have a link.

All of the embellishments, on both layouts, were glued with Helmar 450 Quick Dry!!  I want again to thank you all, who visit my blog and leave me such awesome comments~I have some "crafty goodies" to give away HERE so leave a comment on this thread to be entered.  I ended up posting 228 blog posts for 2011~a big increase from last year!!!!! See ya soon!!!
