Our Mother's~
I have seen so many touching tributes to mothers this week~so I wanted to add ours to the tributes!!! This is my sweet mom~she is a knitter, her specialty is "hats"!!! She has so many other attributes. She is a caregiver for my dad, she teaches Sunday School , she walks every morning, she inspires me to be better in ways she will never know. She is the perfect one to be "my mom". The layout I did of her is titled "you are beautifully made" ~you are mom!! I used Jenni Bowlin, Cosmo Cricket, antique trim, Prima and Thickers by American Crafts. I will love you forever!!!
This is my sweet mother-in-law. She is a sewer, a great cook, she is caregiver to my father-in-law, she is active in her church, she is a sister and she is my friend! She, like my own mother, has always encouraged me in my crafty "dreams"~you are perfect for this family!!! I titled her layout "you were handpicked to be our mom"! I used Jenni Bowlin, Prima, trim, American Crafts and Cosmo Cricket for my supplies!! I am so blessed to have you as my mother-in-law ~ you are loved!
Have a wonderful Mother's Day to all the Mothers {I have two of the sweetest daughter-in-laws}!! They are such good moms!! See you soon!!!

A vintage cutie~
My project yesterday!! I hope it does what it is intended to do INSPIRE you to be creative!!! I used the Jenni Bowlin tart tins that I picked up at CraftCrossing ~ our awesome craft store!!! No kidding it rocks!!

I found this saucer in the shop~yes, really and glued an old thread spool to the saucer, using Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I covered the inside of the spool with some vintage material, that just happened to match my saucer ~ I was really happy about that!!!
I repeated the process on the other two spools~I used Helmar's Professional Acid Free Glue to hold the material in place~it took just a few seconds to grab and hold. Then I glued them to the base of the tart tins and stacked them. I am almost out of Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive but was able to get enough out of the bottle with a pop-sickle stick to complete this vintage cutie!
It is going to hold my Jenni Bowlin buttons ***sigh*** love those buttons!!! All of these super products are at CraftCrossing!!! Give Pam a call and I'm sure she will save it for you~ Hope to see you this weekend for NSD at CraftCrossing~all day fun planned!! Thanks for stopping in ~
enjoy~

Try it Tuesday~re-purposed "lunch pail"
Welcome to Try it Tuesday. This has been my project for the last two days. I was determined to make this into a useful piece of crafty storage ~ so lets begin the journey. A friend gave me this old lunch pail~it was surely headed to the dump. I "liked" it immediately and I started thinking of ways to use it. This is what came up with~
I first added some felt circles, that I cut from my Spellbinder die ~ so it would not scratch up my counter top. I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to glue them on the bottom of the pail.
From left to right ~ the first picture is the top of the lunch pail with an old book cover glued to the top.~ made a nice landing place for my embellishments. Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive is what I used most of the time when I refer to glue. The second photo is a picture of the inside of the lid. I used the cover of an old dictionary and glued it in ( the four corners). I don't have a picture of this but the bottom cover is in the bottom of the pail. The third picture is of the dividers ~I covered some plastic dividers that I had with old dictionary paper. Inked up the edges and made a Dymo label for the top. The last picture is showing file set up for all of my mini alphabet letters. My lettering of choice ~ well, for now anyway!
Then I started on the decorations that were going to sit on the book cover, of the lid. I used my Tim Holtz die, Jenni Bowlin Acrylic Paint Dabber's, and Helmar's Professional Acid Free Glue to build my center piece~ so to speak. I took a shaped pieced of cardstock and covered it with the old dictionary paper ( I watered down the Helmar's Acid Free ever so slightly to glue my old dictionary paper down), inked up the edges and used the Crop-a-dile to place my holes(for the ribbon). I glued everything to my base(the wing on the bird I used Helmar's Scrap Dots) so it would have dimension.
I ended up adding some Prima and silk ribbon~which I just adore!!!
I then made a little mini tag using the same products to hang from the latch hardware.
Here is the complete project~
I am enjoying using my vintage lunch pail for storage for my mini alphabets. I love to take something old and give it new life. I hope you have enjoyed this and are encouraged to rescue something old and give it a new purpose~where ever that might be. Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful day!

Butterflies with Darkroom Door~
I took a break from a project I have been working on and made some cards out of my scrap bag. These are Mother's Day cards~love using my scraps, it's like free cards:):) Cards without cutting a sheet of cardstock~like I said free cards!
The ribbon is silk and worked perfect for these cards. I used the Darkroom Door Butterfly stamp set for my images!!! All I can say is beautiful! I have all sorts of ideas for this stamp set, so lovely!
For you local people CraftCrossing has a great selection of Darkroom Door products. The stamps are red rubber and the images are so clear when stamped. This set is fast becoming a favorite of mine~my fifth, I think........ Oh my!
I used the same idea that I used for the cards and made these tags. The flowers are glued on using Helmars Acid Free Glue. Takes no time to dry and keeps you working~love that! For you local gals CraftCrossing has Helmar Products on order. The glue will be in the house shortly:):)!!
These tags were fun to make and the butterfly has so much detail ~a clean stamped image everytime. I stamped extras and cut those out to add dimension to the cards and tags. A little machinne sewing adds interest to the cards and tags. And a little tip~when you don't have the right color of pearl for the center of your flower~ just color it with a sharpie, works everytime! Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you for Try it Tuesday~it's gonna be good!!!

home.SWEET.home~

I decided not to let all of those pictures, I took yesterday, go to waste. I should do something with them~well this is the something I did. I created a collage of all the pictures, using Picasa. The paper I used is g.c.d./Melody Ross~Artsy.Urban!! Love this paper... It is an inspiration all its own.
The large butterfly is flocked ~so cool!!! These photos are of some of my favorite junkin' finds and crafty finds~they provide many hours of inspiration for me. This layout will look great in my "scrappy" place and continue to inspire me in many ways. Just a side note ~ I had several comments on the church bird house. My hubby built that for me for my birthday many years ago.It is signed and dated by him~a one of a kind piece of art.
The jadeite dishes are my favorite color~my mom and mother-in-law gifted me with many of these. and one last side note ~ the cowboy boot is a children's size 3, I have one. I saved it from the trash!! It was in the bottom of a bag that came from goodwill~I felt like I hit the lotto when I found it!! Thank you for all of your kind comments~I loved sharing my home with you all.
