Fall Harvest Pin with Buttons Galore & More~

Hi there!!!
I have been creating with the Harvest Monthly Subscription
Box by Buttons Galore & More
.  Love the assortment of fall
colors represented in the Harvest kit. (affiliate link)
Rich beautiful colors!!

The monthly box is full of Flatbackz, Sprinkletz, Sequinz, Novelty
Buttons
and a Button Mason Jar.  Plus you get
Sunflower Novelty Buttons and an Assorted Fall Embellishments
in a keepsake container.  Such a fun kit!!

I created a twisted muslin broch by adding vintage trims and findings
along with the buttons from the Harvest Kit.  I added Flatbackz to a
stick pin and then pushed them in the center cluster. Twine was added
along with stitching to the buttons.

I speckled with black acrylic paint for a distress look.  This looks great
on a denim jacket.
Remember to get 10% off your button order by

Home Decor with Clear Scraps ~

Hi, Connie here with a home decor project using several of the, newly released, Mascils by Clear Scraps.  I always look forward to the new Mascils that are released each year and this year was no exception.  Beautiful birds, flowers, shiplap, an owl, an unicorn, hearts and plaid hearts, just to name a few.  They come in 6" and 12" and are perfect for mix media projects.

This was such a fun piece to create.  I started by adding color to muslin fabric and then started using the Mascils to create the different patterns.

On this section, of the muslin fabric, the color was added and then stencils (using acrylic paint) and the modeling paste, for the bird.  I use a pallet knife but an old credit card or gift card works great also, when applying the modeling paste.   After using the modeling paste rinse the stencil with water and set aside to dry.

On this corner the quote was stenciled on using black acrylic paint.  It only takes a small amount of paint to get a great print, using a stencil.  Less is more in this case.  Using to much paint can cause the paint to go under the stencil, making a mess of your project.  Practice, to get a feel as to how much paint or ink to add when using a stencil, is always a good idea.

Products used:
Clear Scraps (newly released):  6" Shiplap Mascil, 6" bird on branch Mascil and 6" Bouquet Daises Mascil
Clear Scraps: 6" Chevron Mascil and 6" Quaterfold Mascil
Clear Scraps: Border Mascil: Bloom Where You Are Planted and In His timing
Clear Scraps: 12" Folk Flower Mascil
Other:
Mix media products ( acrylic paint, modeling paste, spray paints): DecoArt
seam binding trim
embellishments

Try It Tuesday~ more button brooches!!

Hi guys!
I have been super busy with four grands.  We have gone to
the movies, made slime :), toured the caverns, went to a snake farm, made ice cream shakes,
enjoyed swimming and marble game tournament (every night).  They also walked
with me every night ~ great talks too!!!
Just letting you know why I haven't been around :)  it is coming to and end soon :(
***********
I created these brooches out of vintage muslin cloth.  Twist the fabric and tack with hot glue or a strong wet glue.  Add felt to the back (to keep the brooch together).  The leaves are vintage, about 1950's.  I found them on a junkin' trip.  The buttons are from Buttons Galore and More.

My mom wanted this one !

Sent this one to a very special lady :)
I kept the top one :)
Supply list:
Muslin fabric cut in strips 24" long about 4" wide
twine
Vintage leaves or flowers
Buttons Galore & More will have gorgeous buttons!
felt
strong adhesive

2. Position the stencil on the material and secure it with a clip.

Octtut3

3.  Choose the ink colors (StazOn) and begin applying ink to
cutout sections of the stencil.
4. Do one color at a time.

Octtut2

5. When the ink has dried, sew a single stitch down each side
or use a border stamp.
6. Turn the top corners under and add twine and a large button

Try It Tuesday~ Muslin flowers!

Hi guys!
Like I posted yesterday, I was given the roll of muslin {for other purposes}
refer to picture from yesterday:) ~
This is what I made and how I made them~
Tutorial~
You can use strips of material also. This product is kinda waxed
but once it was watered down it took the color well.

Another idea is~ these are kinda of twisted tight, try a loose one :)

I tagged it with glue to keep the rose together.

 Finished roses~
and check out the double hands ~ Kentucky $5.
