Weekend full of hodge podge fun~

Hi everyone~it has been a crazy week. I have two of my grands and we have been busy doing "kid crafts".  I'm so glad they enjoy working with their hands.  The weekend before they came I had a crafting afternoon when I got home from church.  I thought I would share with you what I made~

This is a picture frame painted with acrylic paint and then crackled with Helmar's crackle medium.  I then made a thin paint wash and brushed it over the frame and then wiped it off, leaving the fabulous crackled finish.  I used Helmar 450 quick dry on the inside of the frame and stuffed the vintage material in the frame opening leaving a pocket to stuff ~ making the cushion for the pins.  The spoon was a last minute add on.  I sewed it on making a perfect place for extra buttons to land.

This is another version of a pin cushion. I used vintage tart tins I had come across junk'n.  I ran a line of glue { Helmar 450 quick dry} on one side and adhered the fabric with a clip ~ holding the fabric in place, then I did the other side.  The ends were the last to be glued on to the tin, leaving one open so I could put the stuffing inside ~ making the pin cushion.  Then I decorated with trims and buttons and adhered using Helmar 450 quick dry.  These were fun to make!!!

And last were these magnets made out of dominoes.  I inked them with Ranger alcohol ink and then stamped my image on with Stazon ink.  I backed them with felt and glued a magnet on with Helmar 450 quick dry.  I love crafting, it is in me!!! I will be on vacation next week but drop by I will be posting~ have a great day and see ya soon
