Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter Blog Hop with Joy Clair~

Hi guys!!
It is that time again~
hopping with Coffee Lovers Blog Hop .

Joy Clair has super cute collection of Coffee Stamps that
you can find HERE.
The theme this year is anything goes, that makes it so easy!!
I used several sets by Joy Clair in creating this card.  I will list them at the
bottom of the post.
The background is created using Distress Oxides, watered down and the
cardstock dabbed in the ink.  Layer as many colors as you like.  Use a heat tool after
each color and continue to layer ink colors. Stencils were applied next using black ink.
The foliage is stamped on the card front.  The dimensional images were stamped
on beige cardstock, colored and trimmed out.  Those were added to the card front
using 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  Speckle with black ink to
complete the card.  Mat on a folded Kraft card.

Merry Mail by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!!
I'm creating with a really fun set called Merry Mail
by Darkroom Door. Another great release!!!

This set is designed for decorating envelopes but I can see
a few cards and tags also!!!

These are small tags with straight stamping.  I used Archival inks by
Ranger
and speckled with white acrylic paint for a snowy effect.

The little sleigh scene was created using the Small Circle Stencil set and
the Merry Mail set.  No fancy stamping,  just ink and stamps.  Archival ink and
white and red acrylic paint complete the card.
Using the stamps in the Merry Mail set  with Archival ink to decorate
the envelope. for that special card.  The envelope is speckled with
white acrylic paint.
Tip:  Best way to get great speckles, water the acrylic paint down and use a old toothbrush to spread the paint.

Another example of the fun stamps that make it easy to decorate the
envelope when sending cards.
Products used: Darkroom Door: Merry Mail, Season's Greeting and Small
 Circle Stencil set
Other: Ranger ink, acrylic paint, twine

Star Set Stencil by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I'm creating with the newly released Small Stencil Star Set by
Darkroom Door.
I created Christmas Ornaments from the positive and negative images in
 this Star Stencil set.

I did  step by step photo's of the bird ornament so you could see the process.
  Let me show you~
First creating the background for the star.

I inked the Starry night BG stamp up with Versa Mark and stamped on Kraft
cardstock.  Apply embossing powder, shake off excess.  Another way to create a
background is to stamp with ink, like I did for the script ornament.

Position the Star image over the embossed background and trim out.

I cut around the Star leaving about an 1/8" over hang.  Stamp the evergreen foliage
on the front of the Star.  Stamp the bird on cardstock, color and trim out.

Attach front and back together with Extreme Double-Sided Tape by Scrapbook
 Adhesives by 3L.
I added a puff of cotton in the center for dimension.
Add the berries to the front of the ornament with red acrylic paint and a
stylus.  The stylus will give you a perfect dot.
Using the Dylusions/Shimmer Sprays by Ranger, this was sprayed on Kraft
cardstock using the negative, of the Star image,  then trimmed out like
the above photo shows.

You will have lots of over spray on the stencil.  I used this on a journal page.
I turned the inky mess onto a journal page.  Nothing wasted here.

Products used: Darkroom Door: Star Stencil set (new), Christmas Script BG,
Starry Night BG (new), Bird Life, Merry Christmas, Pine Leaf, Diamond Stencil,
Med. Journey Stencil, Lrg. and Mesh Stencil
All products can be found HERE. Ranger: Archival inks,  Modeling paste, Shimmer sprays and Distress Oxide ink
other: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, glitter pen and Uni-ball white pen

Fall cards with Joy Clair and Leisure Arts~

Hi guys!!
It is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog!
I created some fallish (is that a word) cards that make me ready for some
 cool weather and football.
These cards were created by using the markers as a mixed media type ink.  I scribbled the ink on a non stick mat and added a small amount of water and dabbed the ink on the watercolor  paper.  I dried the paper with a heat tool after each color.  I just kept layering colors (from the markers) until I got a fallish mix of color. Something a cool November day would be proud of.  The images form the Fall, family & Football stamp set were stamped out and colored in with the dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.
The images were adhered to the card front with Dimensional adhesive and then double matted on coordinating cardstock.  The cards are 3" X 4" /small great for gift bags are football goodies!

The second card is created using the same technique except I used Distress Oxides inks instead of the dual tip markers.  The background was created the same.  The images were water colored with Distress Oxide ink.  The images were adhered to the card front with dimensional adhesive/foam squares. The card front was double matted on coordinating cardstock and then adhered to a folded card.  This is a 3" X 3" card so it is perfect for a gift bag or used as a card on some game day treats!

Great Friend Small Stamp by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
Darkroom Door has released its Fall/Winter stamp and stencil
collection and I got to create with some of the release.

These small stamps are easy to use.  You can create many cards in
a short time frame.  That speaks to me~
First up~a set!!!

On the first card the background was created stamping only the top
part of the flower stamp.  I inked the flower with two different colors of
ink and stamped in random spots on the card front.  The centers of the flowers
were created using brown acrylic paint and the small end of a stylus.  Makes
a perfect little circle.  The sentiment was then stamped over the background.
Double mat and adhere with 3D foam squares by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
to a folded card.  The second card (on the right) is very quick and easy!!
The flower is inked up with 3 different color ink pads.  Sounds hard but it
will work great.  Doesn't matter if a little brown get on a leaf, gives the
flower a realistic look.  M
at the flower and pop it up with 3D foam squares.
Stamp sentiment on card front. Double mat and add to a folded card.
Speckle card with black ink to complete the set.

To create the circle, to highlight the stamps, use the Small Circle stencil by
Darkroom Door.  Use your favorite color, with a foam applicator, to create the circle.
Stamp the sentiment in the center with black ink.  Stamp the flower to the side using
three different colors of ink.  Coordinate the cardstock to match the focal of your card.
Double mat with 3D foam squares and adhere to card front. Adhere to a folded card.
Tie with brown twine or hemp twine. Speckle with black ink to complete this card.

This card was created with Distress Oxides and Archival ink.  The background was
created using several colors of Distress Oxides watered down.  The paper
was placed in the watered down inks and then a heating tool was used to dry after
each color.  The colors were layered until I got a cool background for the
Sloth card.  The stamps were used with Archival ink and colored in with
Distress Oxide ink. The card front was added to a folded card.  The sentiment
was adhered with dimensional adhesive by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
Twine was added and ink splats to complete the card.
