Remember this enamel lid~

Hi everyone~this is a remember this post that is doubling for challenge over at City Crafter's Challenge Blog.  The challenge {week #115} is to make a gift for someone, so I did.  I used my $1.50 enamel lid that I found junkin' last weekend.  You can hang the lid on the wall (by drilling holes in the top) and make a wire handle or put it on a plate stand, like this one.

I used Jenni Bowlin, Jillibean Soup, October Afternoon, Donna Downey, Prima and felt leaves.  I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry {my hero} to glue this together.

and remember this~I love to re-purpose!!! Now who should I give this to?  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by ~ I'll see ya soon!!!!

Thank You cards ~ with heat and foil!

Hi everyone!!!! I did these cards for a friend of mine ( that is a realtor) for her to give to her clients.  I thought I would share with you how I made them, but first a few more views!

I used up all of my pre-made cards from Hobby Lobby.  All I needed to do was decorate the front~

Yes, there is a beige set in the bunch but it looks great too!!!.

To put the house image on the card I heat embossed it ( with foil) with my Howard Imprinting Machine.  I got this years ago when I was a Creative Memories Consultant to emboss my customer's CM albums.  The imprinter is also great for invitations, napkins, stationery, pencils and small favor boxes.

Very handy machine to have~if it will fit under the machine, most of the time I can put a name or image on the item.  It works perfect on CM albums:):)

I have several different dies, fonts to imprint with.  I have found these vintage dies while junkin'.  I haven't really made anything, just imprinting to see the image but have several projects in mind.  The deer is a favorite and the large die with numbers, I found that in Jenni Bowlin's booth at the Country Living Show.  I'm always on the look out for something different and unique.
Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see ya soon!

Junkin' ~ need I say more!

I have a quick junkin' trip and family/friends gave me some goodies they were sending to goodwill, so I got really lucky!!!! Take a look with me~
Old enamel lid, I have it already planned in my head, just need to work it up and those red buttons will come in handy!!!  Loved the old labels on a roll~great for stamping!!!

These were given to me {TY Lea!!!}~love the boxes by their self.  The green round is an old powder compact, beige watch box and wooden box.  Take a look at what was inside~

Great detail~

Belt buckles, old needle container dated 1929, old lock {very cool}~

I can always use buttons~love them!!!!

Vintage button card~not sure what I will do with it, but I have never seen one like this~paid $6 for it!!

Sis gave me this and I think it is so cool and will be great for filing stuff!!!

One more die-cut paper with Jenni~

I'm back with another layout done using die-cut paper.  This one is by Jenni Bowlin Studio.  No cuttting on this one just used the  whole sheet.  I didn't mount it on cardstock but you could and it would look great!!!

These pictures were taken a few months ago at the Country Living Fair in Austin.  I finally got to meet Jenni in person~what a thrill for me!!!

I love making these award badges ~ I find I'm creating more and more of them, using memorabilia, paper scraps, ribbons, ticket stubs~the more the better!!!  Thanks for stopping in today. Have a great day and I'll see ya soon!!!!!

Die-cut papers Jenni style~

Oh how I love those Jenni Bowlin Studio die-cut papers!!!!  I have way to many, I'm not hoarding :):)~ I just think they are so cool and look even cooler!!! The shapes, colors and design are so unique!!!!

The red and yellow go together so well~actually compliment each other!  I use them whole, half, a forth ~even on cards.  I did a Guest Blogger post for Shimelle in Jan 2011 and it was "Five die-cut papers Five different ways" ~ I love them that much!!!

Sitting Pretty~

Hi everyone~this is a layout I did for Stamping*Stationery*And Scrapbooking { Hobby Lobby Magazine} ~ it was requested but did not show up in the magazine. Has that ever happened to any of you?  The paper is by Paper Studio!!

That is a male Cardinal at the feeder and I took lots of pictures to finally get a good one.  He was tricky, up the tree, down the tree, fly off, come back................ but I kept my lens on him and finally got a good shot.

JBS Vintage Hotel Key Board **sigh**~

Hi everyone~this is part of the work I did for Jenni Bowlin Studios, always a thrill when asked to work up a new product.  My idea was to use the board in a way that could be changed up.  This is my Bling Board ~ vintage bling, that is!

Old crystals, old keys, key necklace with old buttons, brooches {Teresa Collins}, little beaded braclet and my "5" ~ great place to display collections!  The blue round paper piece is from the new Wren collection by Jenni Bowlin **sigh**, love that paper!!!!

I added small jump rings to the board so I could use the old hanger as a holder for the Hotel Key Board!!  Speaking of the old hanger ~remember this:

This is the hanger I found on my junkin' trip in Indiana~ and the shoe form, this is what I did with it~

I told my hubby my idea for this and he was able to {JB Weld} the music clip inside the shoe horn:):). This is one of my favorite pieces.  I can use it all over the house for photos, cards or kid art!!

I'll show my other Vintage Hotel Key Board in detail tomorrow.

I want to thank all of you that commented on the JBS Inspiration blog yesterday, brought a smile to my face!!!!  Thank you for your support:):):)
See ya tomorrow!!!

10 things~ doors!

It's time for Shimelle's, 10 things on the tenth of the month, so here we go~ thought I would show you how I use old doors in my home.  I will stop on a dime for an old door with vintage hardware on it!!! I'll explain as I go~
Old door painted to display Mercer Pottery on. Hubby built the awesome mantle out of mesquite wood, found on our place~

This is another old door that was spilt to make a place to hang stuff in the pantry~

Hubby made this piece out of old door pieces, for the grands to have a place to hang their ranch caps.  The knobs are old door knobs!  That could be my next 10 things~showing the door knobs:):)

This is one of the very first doors I re-purposed and it is still a favorite of mine.  This is a small door~I'm thinking for a water heater.

Another fave of mine~this door is by Firestone Food Freezer (brass emblem on the front) ~ I painted it and use it for all things, grand kids!  Side note, I paid $15 for this door , all other doors were given to me or we found them.

Two doors hinged together ( check out the hinges)  Used to display more Mercer Pottery.

This door I just love~tall and skinny, painted added vintage(re production) hooks and we hang our wet towels on it..

One door turned into swinging doors ( bathroom). Check out the knobs~

This is the headboard on our bed.  Three doors hinged together ( check out those hinges). Mounted to the frame of the bed and then we added reading lights ( has a toggle switch in the key hole of the door knob) very cool~hubby and my design!!

Old French doors headed to the junk yard.  They are mounted on the wall (behind our TV in or bedroom). We added vintage hardware to them.  I know this is 10 things, but one more:):);)

Not sure what this is, but it spoke to me. I paid $20 for it. I love to display seasonal items on it.  Fun idea~ just wanted to share!!
Thanks for stopping in~this blog hop is always a fun one.
To see more collections of 10 things~ go to Shimelle's blog and happy hopping!!
