Artful August Challenge with Rachel Greig ~ Tissue

 Hi!
I got back to my Art Journal.
I'm working through the Artful August Challenge by
Rachel Greig.  The word today is Tissue.
I had one roll of Tim Holtz tissue paper, from back
 in the day, but that is all I needed was a piece.

The background is created with the large circles stencil by Darkroom Door
 and Distress Spray Stain/Bundled Sage by Ranger.  The tissue paper is randomly
placed over a section of the stenciled background using collage paste by Ranger.
The quote stamp is called Artist by Darkroom Door.  Describes the Hyde girls
 perfectly.  

I randomly stamped using images from the Number Medley set, 
Global Postmarks and Faded Circles by Darkroom Door.  Stickers, Paper
 Dolls by TH and postage stamps.
The background is splattered with acrylic paint. All adhesive
used is by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Choose Wisely by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps~

Hi!
Today I have two cards to share using the NEWLY 
released stamp called Choose Wisely by Blue Knight Rubber
Stamps.  One is a mixed media type and the other card
more traditional. 

The top (L) card is created with background stamps and then the leaves
and silhouette couple are stamped over the background. I used Bark and
Tell Me The Story of Jesus background stamps and for the
 leaves the Cute Koala set.  The set has the best leaves!! The color is
Distress Oxide inks, used like watercolors.  The bottom (R) card
is created with panpastels, texture paste, stencils and markers.
This is a fun background to make.  Lay the panpastels down first,
then stencils, and then texture paste. Speckle with acrylic paint to finish
the background.  Put the card front on a stamping platform
and add in the silhouette couple from the Choose Wisely set.
The sentiments are from the Choose Wisely set and the
One Line Sentiments/blessings.

All adhesive used is by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Music To My Ears with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L~

Hi ~

Wooded Book Stairs by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps~

Hi!
Today I'm sharing two cards using the NEWLY
released Wooded Book Stairs by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.
If you love to color you will love it,
if you don't color (like me) you will find another way.

Card #1 (left) ~ This card is colored with Distress Oxide inks, watered down, 
to give a watercolor effect.  The sentiment is from the  Once in a Lifetime
stamp set by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps. 
Card #2 (right) ~ This card is colored with panpastels, the Day & Night Palette.
I then used an eraser to remove the color on the book stairs. I added the
silhouette girl and cat from the Girls with Pets stamp set.
Under I chose the word "the simple life." from the 
One Line Sentiments/blessings.

All adhesive is by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Two Paths by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps~

Hi!
Today I'm sharing two cards created using the NEWLY
released stamp called Two Paths by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.
One is embossed and the other colored (loosely). 

The top (L) card is colored with Distress Oxide (watered
down).  The added jeeps are from the Daring Adventure set. 
The words are from the One Line Sentiments/happy any day.
The bottom (R) card is embossed with a chunky green 
embossing powder and then colored with Distress Oxides.
The silhouette deer were popped in from the 
Buck, Doe & Fawn set.  The words are from the 
One Line Sentiments/friends rock. Also popped in a 

bird from the Birds ll set.

All adhesive used is by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.

Artful August Challenge with Rachel Greig ~

Hi!
This is the third year for Artful August Challenge with
Rachel Greig.  I'm so happy to announce I got to
create 4 art journal pages using the prompts that Rachel
suggested.

The four I'm going to show are 26 - 29.   So fun, all mixed media with
red rubber stamps!!!

You can find individual photos here on my instagram
 account crafty_mercer.
I used Distress Stain Spray, Distress Oxide ink and Archival inks
to create the background or starting point.  Stencils, stamps, 
collage papers, ephemera, texture paste, embossing 
powder just to name the many things that were used.  I used
close to 12 stamp sets and 8 stencils. 
My goal is to finish all the prompts even it takes longer than a
month!

Hey Dude with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L~

Hi~
Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page using pattern paper
by Bella Blvd. and 3D Foam Strips by Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L.
I have a fun technique that is really easy but looks great
over on the Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L Blog.  It has
to do with journal strips, up and down.

I have all the details over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog.
I'm using some fun paper by Bella Blvd. called Alex from back
in the day.  I have lots of paper from back in the day.  It is
good to start making pages again.

Fay's Bridge by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps~

Hi!
Today I'm sharing two cards using the NEWLY
released stamp called Fay's Bridge by Blue
Knight Rubber Stamps.  I did the same
technique on both cards but added in different
stamps to make the scene different.  Also different colors!

Both of these cards are created in the same manner.  I used the 
Sunrise/Sunset Palette for the top left card and the Day/Night
Palette for the bottom right card. On the top card I erased the water 
and added a silhouette moose and the bottom card I erased the bridge
and added a silhouette hiker.  To add the panpastels I went from bottom to top,
using dark, medium and light in the middle.  Same thing for top (going
down the card) dark, medium and light in the middle.
The words are from the One Line Sentiments/lucky you. and blessings.

All adhesive is by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.
