To Be Jolly by Darkroom Door

Hi guys!!

I'm continuing to create with the new release by

Darkroom Door. Today I'm sharing small cards created using a

 small stamp called To Be Jolly.

These little cards are 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 .  They are created using scraps of
pattern paper.  I love creating with bits and pieces.  I trimmed the stamp
so the tree is separate from the text.  The text was rearranged and then
 stamped on white or beige cardstock.  Double mat the sentiment and
adhere to the folded card.  Add twine.  Stamp small tree and trim
out. Tie the tree charm on the ends of the twine.

I arranged the small stamp like the photo shows and stamped it with
Archival /Jet Black and Leaf Green.  I added red berries with
acrylic paint and then speckled with black and white
acrylic paint.  The tags were created from scrap pieces of Kraft cardstock
and a corner rounder was used to create the rounded edges on
the bottom of the tag.

Try It Tuesday~ Mixed Media Canvas Apron!

Hi guys!
 I have a really fun project to share. Mixed Media and with lots of paint!
Our insurance agent gave hubby a canvas apron to use when he grills. 
I got a hold of it before hubby did and did "my thing" on it.

I started with all these fun colors, stencils and one stamp!
I started by adding color to the apron using Tumble Dye's by S.E.I.

I then added stencils with modeling paste. More stencils with acrylic paint
Brush work with acrylic paint.  Just kept adding until I got
the look I was wanting.  I still think I could of added stronger color to
the apron before I started applying stencil work.

The stencils were applied in random spots using different colors of paint. A sponge
was used to apply the color.

Christmas Wreath with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a Christmas wreath using some of the festive embellishments by Clear Scraps.  I used chipboard trees, a mini star pallet shape and a large birch wood script word to create this Christmas wreath.


I started by adhering pine cones to the front of the wreath.  I had collected the pine cones a couple of years ago while on vacation.   If you have some pine cones and fear they are buggy, just put them in the oven at a low heat for about 30 minutes.


After the pine cones were attached to the front of the wreath, the script word, trees and star were painted with acrylic paints.   The script word and star were sanded down to create a distressed look.  The embellishments were speckled with watered down white paint.


The elements were adhered to the wreath with hot glue.  It really took no time at all to put the wreath together once the embellishments were decorated and painted. Goes pretty fast!!!

Merry Christmas 2017

Designer notes:

The shaker is constructed together and painted.  Only thing different is a Popsicle stick is glued to the back, making it easy to push down in the floral foam.

Snowflake Award Clip, for chips, with Clear Scraps~

Hi, Connie here to share with you a fun idea when taking chips or bagged treats to a party or to give as a gift.  The Snowflake Shaker by Clear Scraps comes in handy when creating a bag clip for yummy holiday treats!!  Homemade or purchased this will look so cute on the bags!!


Take strips of pattern paper and layer them, making an award badge. Ribbons, buttons, ticket strips all can be used to make the badge unique and personal. Place the Snowflake Shaker by Clear Scraps, at the top (after it is created) and attach with strong glue.


Using strong glue attach a small clothspin to the back, that is the clip that will allow you to clip the Snowflake award badge to a bag of chips or cookies.


Easy !!! Now the hard part~picking out treats to use the clip on!


I love the chip idea, goes great with a homemade dip to add to the gift.




This is easy to make and the Snowflake Shaker just adds that extra special pop to the Snowflake award badge.  After the chips are clipped, the Snowflake award badge will look great clipped on the Christmas Tree.

Celebrate with Stars by Buttons Glaore & More ~

Hi, Connie here with the Buttons Galore & More design team sharing a couple of Birthday cards using the themed buttons "Stars" by Buttons Galore & More.  The buttons come in four different colors: green, yellow, blue and red plus two sizes.  Perfect primary colors, great for creating crafty projects with.

Supplies needed to create these cards : Star themed buttons by Buttons Galore & More, Bingo cards, pattern paper, birthday stamp set and ink, stickers (optional), twine, cardstock and strong glue.

Instructions:
1. Trim pattern paper to 4" x 12" and score at 6". Fold to create card base.
2. Shade around the bingo cards with ink.
3. Layer cardstock and 2 bingo cards and adhere to card base.
4. Stamp sentiment on the bingo card.
5. Speckle with ink spray and let dry.
6. Add twine and Star button to top of card.
7. Randomly scatter the Star buttons, around the bingo card cluster, on the front of the card.

The cards can be created quickly and created assembly style.  Great to add to a gift bag or will look beautiful on a package.  They are bright and colorful and EASY!!!  I love easy~ sometimes easy is good and these cute Star buttons add dimension and texture to the card, making it so fun!

Special cards for special people don't have to be complicated to create when you have beautiful themed button embellishments to create with.  Buttons Galore & More has a large selection of themed buttons for every holiday and event.  They have created some really cute themed buttons!!!  Check them out~

Christmas Tree button pins with Buttons Galore & More~

Hi, Connie here with Buttons Galore & More design team sharing some really cute, wintery Christmas Tree pins.  The pins were created using a beautiful mix of buttons called Winter Wonderland.  They are beautiful and perfect for this project.

These were created using a triangle shaped piece of wood but chipboard would work also.

Supplies needed:
Gorgeous Winter Wonderland buttons by Buttons Galore & More, wood or chipboard shaped triangles, pin backs, felt, strong glue and acrylic paint.

Instructions:

1. Paint the back and sides of the triangle shape.  Sit aside to dry.
2. Trace triangle shapes on felt and trim out.
3. When paint is completly dry, glue felt on front (not painted) of triangle shape.
4. Using strong glue place buttons on the front of the traingle and glue them in place, creating a tree.
5. Repeat this step for all triangle shapes.
6. Let dry about 10 minutes .
7. Glue pin backs on the backside of the tree pin.
8. Add the sticker word oon top of the buttons.
9. Attach to a gift card.

I used die cut cards, that come with sets of paper, to attach the Christmas Tree pins to.  I love the beauty of the button mix. These colors really scream Winter to me.  Another idea to give the Christmas Tree pins a different look is to add ribbon or twine,  or highlight the buttons with ink or paint.  So many ways to personalize these pins. How about one in each color!!!

These are so easy to make and will make sweet little gifts to share with teachers and family friends!  Great family night project for the kids to join in on.  The beautiful thing about buttons, they are gorgeous and easy to work with.  Always leaving you with a beatiful and unique project!!!

Christmas in July with Quick Quotes~

Hi, Connie here with a Christmas in July project with Quick Quotes.  I have created a set of Christmas cards using the new paper collection, called Serenade, by Quick Quotes.  It is full of bright fun colors that work awesome for Christmas themed cards or projects.

The stamp adds to the "retro" look I was going for.  The bright green paper in the Serenade Collection worked great for this project.  The Santa hat is paper pieced and then colored with Lipstick PowderPuff Chalk ink by Quick Quotes.

The Santa face has a little sparkle on it, plus some silver ink splats.  The card and mats are shaded with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks for added dimension.  Love the washed out look, that stamping with the Quick Quotes PowderPuff chalk inks creates.  Perfect for the retro/vintage look.

Nature at its finest~

Hi guys!!

I have a little birds nest to share with you:).  

We had some really strong winds come through and I found this under a tree. 

This one is very unique and beautiful!!

The blue paper is from Easter confetti eggs and all the fibers from the dyer vent (I guess). 

I think it is beautiful!!

So colorful.  How do the birds do it, weave such a beautiful home.

I had to do something with it so here is my creation~

Try It Tuesday~jello molds, one of a kind!

Hi guys!!

Thanks for stopping by for Try It Tuesday.

Those jello  tins have been calling my name again.  I wanted something to hold my 

"go to" re-inkers and my Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks, the ones I reach for first, so I came up with this~

They don't take up much room and easy to make.  I had two different sizes so I glued them together and depending on what size I needed, is what size is up right. If you don't want the seal to be permanent, use hot glue.  When the glue cools down you can pull them apart without any damage to the jello tin.

A Pocket Page with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a pocket scrapbook page but with a twist!  I used one acrylic sheet by Clear Scraps with an acrylic word.



Instructions:
1. Cut 1" off one side of the 12 x1 12 acrylic sheet by Clear Scraps.
2. Adhere the acrylic to the pattern paper using Beacon 3-IN-1.  The opening to the pocket will be Horizontal.
3. Add washi tape for design on bottom and top of page.



 4. Use Black StazOn Ink and add color to the acrylic word (Purrfect).



5.  The page should look like this~



6. Next step is the photo collage.  This is a good project for all those photos, that go to one event,  to keep them together.

 

7. Make tabs for the photo pages.
8. Decorate the front of the Acrylic sheet.  For added interest,  I used the 12 Chevron stencil by Clear Scraps with black StazOn ink on the front acrylic page.
