Joy Clair and Leisure Arts ~ cards!!

Hi guys!!
It is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog today!
I am also creating with some crazy cool dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.
So fun to create with awesome stamps and some awesome markers:)

I'm here with some cards using the newly released stamp sets by Joy Clair called Crystal Background and You're A Gem.  These sets were made to go together and have a ton of sparkle potential.

The same unique, pretty crystal stones were used in both sets and ready to be all glittered up.  We are also creating with some crazy cool dual tip markers  by Leisure Arts.

The markers were scribbled on a non stick surface and sprayed with a small amount of water.  The paper (mixed media) was dabbed in the ink from the markers.  I kept adding different colors, drying with a heat tool after each color.  Once the background was created stencils were added for dimension and interest.  The gem stones were stamped out and dabbed with ink from the markers.  The cut out gemstone images were glazed with a glitter pen an adhered to the card front.  The sentiment was added along with some small clear rhinestones. The card front was matted on  gray cardstock and then a folded card.

Both these cards are created using the same techniques.  The images are stamped out on backgrounds created using the dual tip markers by Leisure Arts.  The stencil work is giving the impression of negative verses positive impression but actually it is a dark plum ink on light paper and then dark paper.  The gemstone images were cut out and glittered with the Wink Of Stella pen/clear, giving the gemstones the sparkle that we all love.  The sentiments were stamped out and added to each card. The cards were speckled with black ink (first card) and white ink (second card).  To complete the cards, the card fronts were adhered to a folded card.

World Card Making Day 2019 with Joy Clair ~ cards!!!

Hi guys!
My second post for World Card Making Day.  We are celebrating at
Joy Clair all day!!  Challenge #2  create cards showcasing
Joy Clair stamps.  This has to be newly created cards using Joy Clair stamps
to be considered for prizes.

My project includes two cards sharing like supplies, just different
inks in different places.

I created with the Hello Autumn and Fall Greetings by Joy Clair.
Beautiful fall leaves and beautiful sentiments on both sets.

The background for the card was created with Distress Oxide inks watered down
and the card front dipped into the ink.  One color at a time and dry with
a heat tool after each color.  Continue to layer color until you have the  background
you love.  The Instant Frame is by Sizzix.  The leaves were stamped out with Distress
Oxides and then trimmed out.  A glitter pen was used for some sparkle.
All of the elements were layered on the card front.  I used Dimensional
adhesive by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L on the leaves.  The card front
was double matted on patterned paper by Authentique.  Sentiment, twine
and buttons were added along with black ink splats to complete the card.

This card is created in the same manner as the above card. The steps are the same
except Archival/Jet black ink was used when stamping the leaves.  The card is
smaller in size and the leaves were stamped out on a mix media sheet of
colors created with the Distress Oxide inks.  The glitter pen added sparkle, that we all love.

World Card Making Day with Joy Clair ~ 2019

Hi guys!!
We are celebrating World Card Making Day at
Joy Clair!!!  We hope you will join us~

Challenge #1 ~ Share your work table / or area and
an organizing tip for art and craft supplies.
I have several areas in my room that I have labeled stations.  This is where I stamp at.
Everything thing I need, to achieve that, is in this area.  It is a favorite
place for sure.  When I create I stand up.  I have never been able to
create sitting  in a chair:).  I love to use eclectic, different, old, vintage items
 to house my craft/art supplies.

My tip:  Organize your stash in items that make you happy and you enjoy
seeing.   My Joy Clair stamps are displayed in an old mail sorter box
that has metal dividers. It is wood and looks very vintage and that is what appeals to
me about this very plain, simple box.  It really speaks to me!!!

National Coffee Day with Joy Clair~

Hi guys!!
We are celebrating National Coffee Day with Joy Clair.
 Joy Clair has some great
Coffee stamp sets to create with.  You can start the blog hop HERE.
I am creating with two of my favorite sets, Teacher and
Coffee Quotes by Joy Clair.  Super easy but you will need an embossing
 folder to create the
background for the travel coffee mug.

I used an embossing folder by Tim Holtz that has travel coffee mugs on it.  The color was
added by using Distress Oxide inks and water.  The background was run through the
watered down ink mixture and then heat dried after each color.  I used coordinating
brown tone Distress Oxide ink colors.  The travel mug from the Teacher stamp set  was stamped out on cardstock, colored in and then trimmed out.  The same for the sentiment stamp from the Coffee Quotes stamp set.  Twine was added and then the cut out coffee images.
Black ink splats were added to complete the card.

Enjoy 25% off ALL Coffee themed stamps by Joy Clair!!

Relax with Joy Clair & Rinea~

Hi guys!!
It's my turn on the Joy Clair blog.
I've created a card using the newly released Shadow Of The Almighty by Joy Clair and some really pretty foil papers by Rinea.  I am using the Woodlands Artist Pack by Rinea, for
 the tree bark background.

The foil paper embossed beautifully and looks great in front of the contrasting teal Rinea foil paper.  The leaves are cut out of brown foil paper, from the Woodlands pack by Rinea, using a steel die by Elizabeth Crafts.  So easy to get great looking elements to add to your card!!  The foil paper really makes the dimensional elements pop off the card.  The paper is easy to bend and maneuver in different directions.

The stamped images are stamped on mixed media paper, trimmed out and added to the card front.  I used dimensional adhesive (foam squares) on the chair and sentiment.  Black ink splats were added to complete the card.

Write your Story ART Journal by Clear Scraps~

Hi guys!!
It is my turn on the Clear Scraps blog today.
I'm creating with one of the Wood Albums and I'm loving how it
turned out.  Let me show you~

I created with the "Write your Story" wood album and matching 6" stencil.  So fun and easy to make it your own.  I will use this one as an art journal~Creating the cover was the fun part !!!  The cover was painted with acrylic paint and then sanded lightly.  The feather was stenciled first using the 6" Write your Story stencil.  I used about 4 different colors of Archival ink but as you can see it all looks black.  So black it is!!!

The stencils added to the background to create interest and dimension are ~ 6" Chevron, 6" Swallowtail Butterfly, 6" Quaterfoil, 6" Plaid and 6" Shiplap.   Clear Scraps has some really cool and fun images that look great for mixed media backgrounds.  Just start adding one at a time~

I used black, cobalt, beige and white ink with the 6" stencils (for the background).  The cool thing is if you have an area you don't like just add more stencil images until you get the look you are looking for.  I love that, can't mess it up!!  No way!

I added mixed media paper to the wood album because I  will be using this as an art journal~so excited to create a page!!

The inside cover the 4"x 6"stencil  "All Created" was used by Clear Scraps.  On the side page (black) the 6" Diamonds stencil was used to create a background.
I also used red rubber stamps by Darkroom Door for a the art images.  Beacon 527 was used to glue the inside pocket on the wood inside cover.

This is the back cover~another pocket to hold any extras or notes.

Darkroom Door September Challenge~

Hi guys!!
There is a great challenge going on over on the Facebook fan page
for Darkroom Door.
I used Bird Life, Craved Leaves Vol.1 and Love Birds.  Also used the
Lrg. Diamond Stencil to create the background for the card
along with two colors~Walnut and Soot Distress Oxide inks.

September Challenge: Monochrome Stamping!
This month we challenge you to create a card using a Monochrome colour palette! Monochrome means black & white or varying shades of one colour. In this case, you can use black plus one colour (as seen in the sample card below).
You can use any Darkroom Door stamp or stencil. Your project can be a card, tag, art journal page, scrapbook page, mixed media project... anything goes! Your project just needs to include a Darkroom Door Stamp or stencil as the main feature.
Here's how to enter the challenge:
* Create a project using a Darkroom Door stamp and/or stencil. You can use other products too, but Darkroom Door products must be one of the main elements or features of the design.
* Post a photo here in the Darkroom Door Inspiration group with the tag #darkroomdoorseptemberchallenge
* You have until September 30th, 2019 to enter.
* Project must be new and not previously uploaded to the group.
* Create as many projects as you like! (of course you are always welcome to upload ANY other project you create with Darkroom Door products too, not just ones for the challenge! We like to see what you are creating!)
One winner will be picked at random (within the first week of October 2019) and will receive a Rubber Stamp set and stencil (or equivalent) of your choice.
To inspire you, here's a card by Belinda Spencer where she has used the Under The Sea & Brushed Sentiments Stamp Sets with the Leaves Border Stamp and Filmstrip Stamp!
Good luck and happy creating!!
Rachel
Hope you join us!!!
