Clear Scraps card~ Call Me!!!!

Hi guys!!

I have a tutorial for you using the 12x12 Clear Scraps acrylic sheet~with a little something extra.

That extra is, the paper clip at the top of the card.

I started out like this~

1. Cut the acrylic sheet 6" X 6".  Use a die to put a decorative edge on one end of the acrylic sheet.

2. Then cut two shapes (I used the Tim Holtz telephone) out of a piece of pattern paper and the acrylic sheet ( with the decorative edge).  You should have one acrylic shape and two paper shapes.

3. This how the acrylic sheet should look (above photo).

4. Take your pattern paper and score 1 1/4" from the top of the paper.

5. Fold and adhere the acrylic sheet to the paper. I used Beacon 3-1.

6. Line up one of the telephone shapes to show through the acrylic (telephone shape). Adhere to the pattern paper.  Add extra embellishments if you desire.

7. Adhere ( Beacon/ 3-in-1) the second paper (telephone) to the acrylic (telephone ) and glue a large paper clip to the back.

8.  Add buttons or pearls to the center of the telephone paper clip.

You could also use it to clip a photo to the card, in my case I used the tickets and put my message on those.  Have fun with it~ any shape will work and the acrylic looks so "fancy"

Try It Tuesday~Remember this old bucket?

Hi guys!!

I have a cool re-purposed bucket for you.

I'm not sure if I have posted this picture, but it was one of the things I got at my moms a few weeks ago.

I wanted to use it for magazines so this is what I did.

I painted a coat of Gesso (Claudine Hellmuth) on the front and let it dry.

I then used a stencil by Clear Scraps ( brick wall) with modeling paste~love the look and texture it added to the bucket.  Then I painted the front with flowers using some acrylic paints.

I tied some cool stuff on, um~ like the 6 brass stencil and old key ( more past junkin' finds).

When everything was good and dry I stamped over the area with a background stamp by Darkroom Door called  Chicken wire

After I was done I sealed the bucket with the Matte multi-medium by Claudine Hellmuth.

Disney and Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!!!

Hope you had a great time this weekend!!!

This is a class example ( one of two) of my up and coming class at Craft Crossing.  I will be showing the layout I will be teaching , later on this week.

The paper is by Jillibean Soup/Birthday Bisque.  The layout hold up to 10 photos and I love that.

I can scrapbook all of our Disney photos on several pages like this:)

I also used Splats by Darkroom Door. Love that set!!!!

I added the paper bag (Curtsey Boutique)  at the end, so I had a catch all, for extra memorabilia 

from our trip:)~worked great!!!!

Patriotic Pin with Canvas Corp and Epiphany Crafts!

Hi guys!!!

My friend came over and she wanted to make a pin for  the 4th of July~got me to thinking, out of all of the pins I have made, I don't have a red, white and blue one so,  I do now:):)

I also made stick pins from the Star tool by Epiphany Crafts.

The blue burlap flower is by Canvas Corp.  I used bits and pieces of this and that:):) and 

came up with this.  It will look great on a denim or white shirt for the 4th of July!!!

The stick pins were really easy to make and I will have them for future projects.  I used the Star tool from Epiphany Crafts and glued the star button to a long stick pin.

Try It Tuesday~ Idea, with an old Polaroid camera.

Hi guys! I have something super cool to show, well it is to me 

and I love the story that came with it even more~

My mom handed me this but in the box and asked me if I would be interested in this.

She said my grandpa bought it in 1958 and gave it to my grandma for Christmas that year~ I never even  opened the box, I just said yes!!!

She continued with the story~

The camera had not been used very much because the film and film developer (solution) was expensive, too expensive for my grandparents to be snapping tons of pictures.  After you took a picture, you pulled it out and put the solution over the picture.~ if you failed to use the solution the photo would go black. 

I can see my grandpa, so proud, to own the latest, greatest camera of the day.  The inside of the camera was in very good condition~the leather was not cracked or damaged:)

When it was put up a film cartridge was left inside:):)  I pulled it out and it crumbled:)

I found out more information by using Google~

This camera ,on Ebay, sells for about $40, if you have the leather case it came with ( sold separately), about $100.  It doesn't matter to me the monetary value, but I adore having a piece of family history!!

 A family treasure, as my son says:)

I have one photo that was taken with this camera and it had to be restored because the quality was so bad.  The photo had already started to fade really bad.
