Scissors Eclectic Stamp by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I'm creating with the newly released Scissors Eclectic Stamp
by Darkroom Door.  It is so cute!!!!  I love the vintage look
and the size.

Scissors

The first card set~

1. Use the Sewing Spools background stamp to create the background for the card.  Stamp out
and add color using Distress Oxide ink.  I watered the ink down and ran the stamped image through the ink.  Just adding ink in random spots.
2. Cut the background image in half, giving you two backgrounds, for two cards.
3. Stamp the scissors twice, with Archival/Jet Black ink, and cut out.
4. Cover the scissors image with craft glaze and let dry. It will look like a 3D sticker.
5.Sew the scissor image, to the center of the card, at the handles and where the blades come together.
I kept it simple just an X stitch on both places.
6. Stamp small stars (Darkroom Door) and cut out.
7. Run the hearts through the Distress Oxide ink.
8. Add texture with the Diamond Stencil by Darkroom Door.
9. Mat the card front to coordinating cardstock.
10. Mat to a folded card base.
11. Add the sentiment or a word.
12. Splatter with black ink.

Second card~

1. Create the background from the Handwriting set by Darkroom Door.  Stamp on gray
cardstock with Archival / Jet Black ink.
2. Stamp the pen with Distress Oxide/ Black ink and emboss with a clear coat embossing
powder.  Then trim out.
3. Do the same thing with the scissors image.  Stamp with Distress Oxide/ Gray ink and emboss with a clear coat embossing powder.  Then trim out.
4. Mat the handwriting background on black cardstock and then again on white cardstock.
Adhere to a folded Gray card.
5. Attach the pen and scissors to the card front.  Add stickers and sentiment.
6. Stamp the top sticker with numbers from the Handwriting set.  The sentiment is from the Journey Word stamp by Darkroom Door.7. Splatter with black ink.

Third card~

1. Create the background using the Gazette Background stamp by Darkroom Door.  I used Archival / Jet Black ink.  Trim out.
2. Adhere to a navy or black folded card.
3. Stamp the Postage Stamp Frame with Archival ink/ Potting Soil and trim out.
4. Stamp the Texture/Plaid stamp in the center of the frame.
5. Stamp the Scissors and the Needle and Thread and trim out.

6. Add to card front.
7. Stamp sentiment (Thank You Sentiment stamps) and adhere to card front.
8. Add Postage Frame with dimensional adhesive.
9. Add twine.

Bible journaling with Joy Clair~

Hi guys!
It is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog!
I wanted to share an art journal page I created using the Saved by Grace
set by Joy Clair.
It is so fun to create in my art journal!!! Love it !!!
The background is created by using Distress Oxides watered down and
then use a water brush to add color to the white spaces.  Easy!!!
Also used is the Books Of The Bible by Joy Clair.
Great for labeling or adding verses to your pages.
The flowers were stamped on watercolor paper, colored (with the same ink used
to create the background)
and then trimmed out and added to the pages.
The stencils used are by ARTplorations/Helen G. (check em' out)!! Very cool.

Bird Life by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!
I'm creating with the newly released Bird Life by Darkroom Door.
I love birds so this was a win win set for me!  All of the
 new release are winners ~
take a look!

First Project:
Instructions:
Create a background, for the card front, by stamping a focal image in random
places on the card front.  I choose the small bird and stamped it in different places.
I used Distress Oxide inks to add color to the birds.  The Stitched Borders set was
stamped on all four sides of the card front.  The mixed media background was created
with blue and brown Distress Oxide inks, watered down, and placed in random areas
of the small paper piece. The focal image (bird house) was stamped on
white cardstock and trimmed out.  Adhere the image to the mixed media paper.  Stamp
the sentiment and adhere to a folded blue card.
Another example of this technique.
Second project:
This was really fun to create.  I used different colors of Gelatos by Faber-Castell.
You can see the colors used and then blended with a water brush.  Darkroom Door stencils
(Lrg. Mesh, Lrg. Diamonds)
were used, with modeling paste, for added texture.
The bird bath was stamped directly on the art journal page and
colored in with Distress Oxide inks. The birds and hanging bird house
were stamped and colored with Distress Oxide inks and trimmed out.
The tree branches are from the Bird Life set and Carved Leaves Vol.1.
The trimmed out images were adhered to the art journal pages.
The quote is  called Friends by Darkroom Door.  It was
stamped out and cut in strips.  Color was added to each strip.  The strips were
 adhered to the journal page.

Third project:
The three mixed media type clusters were created using modeling
paste with Darkroom Door stencils (Lrg. Diamonds, Lrg. Mesh and
med. Awesome).  The birds, bird bath, small film strip, and carved leaves were
stamped on white cardstock, colored (with Distress Oxide inks) and trimmed out.
The image were adhered to the mixed media clusters on the page.  The filmstrip
border stamp was stamped on white cardstock, with black ink, trimmed out
and cut down the middle.  The two sides of the filmstrip were placed on each side
of the photos, creating the filmstrip look at the bottom of the page.  The focal
photo was matted with coordinating cardstock and adhered to the page.
The title and date were added to complete the look.

I have a couple of cards to share using this super cute stamp
 by Blue Knight Rubber Stamps.

then added over the complete image.  The rainbow is added with pan pastels.
It is all done with white cardstock and Archival ink.  A white pen is used to highlight the
rainbow and add some texture to the card front.
Card #2~
The second card is stamped on vintage dictionary paper and the matted on
black cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and added to the
card front.  The card front was then adhered to a folded white card.  White acrylic paint
was used to speckle the card front.

Hi guys!!
I have been creating with a new stamp by Darkroom Door
called Abstract 02 and it is pretty cool.
Perfect for card making or for those art journal pages!

Abstract 02

First card set~

Instructions:
The images were stamped on watercolor paper, using Archival/Jet Black ink and colored with Distress Oxides creating the background (Abstract 02) for the card.  The stars, bottles and pencils were stamped on heavy cardstock, colored with Distress Oxides (watered down) and then trimmed out and added to the card front, with dimensional
adhesive.  Texture was added, to the background, using the script texture stamp.  The card front was adhered to a folded Kraft cardstock card.

Instructions:
The background, for the card, was created using the Spanish Tiles with Distress Oxide ink
stamped on coordinating cardstock.  The Abstract 02 and Portrait Inchies were stamped on heavy cardstock with Archival ink/Jet Black.  The images are shaded with watered down Distress Oxide. The images (Abstract 02 and Portrait Inchies) are trimmed out and a canter border is created.  The sentiment is added from the Whimsical Words set by Darkroom Door.   Stickers were added the card was adhered to a folded card. Black splats were added with ink.

Instructions:
The background is created using the Lrg. Mesh stencil with Distress Oxides ink,  I used four different colors and then sprayed with water so they would mingle.  The Abstract 02 stamp was used next and highlighted with a white ink pen.  The med. Creativity stencil was used also with Archival/Jet Black ink.  The Carved Birds Vol.1 and the Carved Leaves Vol.1 were stamped in random spots and highlighted with a white ink pen.  The quote stamp ~ Dance, was stamped out on heavy cardstock and trimmed into strips, then added to the art journal page.  Watered down Distress Oxide ink was added, to each word strip, for color.  Black splats were added with ink.
