Celebrate with Buttons Galore & More

Hi, Connie here with Buttons Galore & More design team.   I have created a kid friendly/decor project that is fun to create with children, and will look fabulous in your home or on your front door, tucked into a grapevine wreath.   The project was created using the Bon Voyage Sequin tin by 28 Lilac lane.  Take a look~

The inspiration for this project came from the sequin tin itself.  It is full of red, white and blue sequins along with white hearts and blue stars.  So lush!  Can't you see a child waving this flag at a celebration parade and then saving it, by tucking it away in a grapevine wreath for the front door?  Or display it in a vintage soda bottle, either way it will be super cute!

Simply instructions~
(1) Sketch out a USA flag on white cardstock about 4" X 6".  Separate the large blue sequins, using a toothpick, from the sequin tin.
(2) Glue the large blue sequins on the flag with gemstone glue. Add the white hearts to the blue section and let dry.  Do the same with the small red sequins, placing them in strips.  Let dry.
(3) Cut the blue section out and then the red strips.  Piece them on a 4" X 6" piece of white cardstock or grid paper.  When it is dry, mat on black cardstock.

The flag was then glued to a piece of burlap ( 5" X 7" ) and then glued to a stick. I used a stick from the yard.

Using twine and buttons, stringers were created for the side of the flag.  These were tied to the top of the stick.

I chose the vintage soda bottle verses the grapevine wreath to display the handcrafted flag.  The soda bottle is full of red buttons to hold the stick in place.  I really love the look!

28 Lilac Lane:  Bon Voyage Sequin tin
Buttons Galore & More: Button Basics/Bright mix
Paper: cardstock white/black and Authentique pattern paper
Beacon: Gem-Tac permanent glue and Quick Grip
Divine Twine: red and blue
burlap, stick, soda bottle (optional)

Try It Tuesday~ Buttons Galore and More

Hi guys!!

I have a cute project to share using vintage tart tins and the fabulous Buttons Galore & More.

No lie~so darling :)

I love the look of the burlap covered in vintage finds, fabulous buttons 

and charming photos.  I also have a tutorial to share on how the top

 of the pincushions were created.

1. Gather supplies. I will have a supply list at the end of the post.

2. Stuff the muslin bag with Poly-fil. 

3. Stuff the muslin bag inside the burlap bag.

4. Roll in a ball and stuff in the tart tin.

5. Glue around edges with hot glue.

6. Decorate the top with ribbon, buttons, small photos, decorative 

pins and vintage finds.  I used hot glue to adhere the ribbon and buttons.

Gorgeous!!!!

Tumble Dye and Burlap with S.e.i.

Hi guys!

My turn on S.e.i.

I'm here rocking the Camo Tumble Dye by S.e.i.  on a set of  burlap cosmetic bags.  I added some vintage flair to the bags too. Camo and vintage, who would have thought to pair these two together.  Let me show you~

I started by spraying the cosmetic bags with brown, black and green Tumble Dye.  It is the Camo set by S.e.i.  I started with brown first, then black and green Tumble Dye last.

I loved the idea of adding a pink and camo flower to the front of the cosmetic bags.  I sprayed some extra burlap with Pink Tumble Dye and the three Camo colors and then used a steel die to cut the flowers.

Vintage lace and a large pearl button was added to create the pink and Camo flower cluster on the front of the cosmetic bags.  The bags were sprayed with an acrylic sealer to stop the burlap flowers from fraying.

I though these bags would be great for craft supplies, not just cosmetics~

Vintage Inspired Christmas Ornaments with Darkroom Door~

Here are a couple more Vintage Inspired  Christmas Ornaments~

 I used the Dear Santa Montage sheet and Stitched Christmas for the sentiments.

The die is by Sizzix called Picture Wheel.  The Santa images, on the Montage, sheet are perfect for this.  You will need to trim down a little and then tape or glue them to the back of the picture wheel cut out.

after you have the images in, I backed it with a circle of burlap. 

I stamped out the sentiment and added embellishments, to complete the ornaments.

These are really fun to make~

Avocado Arts~book sack!!!

 

Hi guys~this is my second project working with the Spring Medley set by Avocado Arts!!! I had such a creative time with these stamps.  The book bag is made from burlap.  All you need to do is cut the burlap the size you want to fit the book or other "treat".  I hot glued mine together on two sides but would have sewed if my machine had been working right:):)

 

I decorated a manilla tag using the awesome Spring Medley set.  This set has flowers that can be stacked, leaves that can be stacked and the "peeps"!!! Love those!!!  I added a button with a lapel pin on the back and some green spring twine!!!  For more inspiration check out the Pit Crew girls~
