Crafting ~ yep!

Hi guys!!
I have been crafting and making small gifts for my 

mom to give to friends.  I started with this mess~

 Just pulled out a bunch of pretties and began putting them together
to create a festive pin.   I ended up making about seven or eight pins!!
So fun and so fun to be crafting again~

This is just cute stuff I grab when I find it at good prices.  The birds
are so cool. Wish I had grabbed more~

Love this green color~

I used buttons, paper flowers ~ tons of old embellishments
 but still so pretty!!

Try It Tuesday~ scraps, what they are good for!!

Hi guys!!

I know you have a box of scraps, I think everyone does.  I always try to use

 them for small 

projects.  Kinda of like a freebie to me~

I have a drawer for every color.  Comes in handy to

 have them labeled too.

Started out with these cuties~3 for $1 from the dollar store. 

Now is where the scrap papers come in.   Pick out papers that are big enough

 for the front and back of the small note books.

I used X-Press It tape (like score tape) and adhered the paper to the front cover.

Then take scissors and cut around the cover (don't even need to sand the edges).

Gather up chipboard stickers and embellishments to add to the front covers.

I just used odds and ends of paper collections for the decorations.  I added some

word stickers to the front also.

Now for the reason~

My mom is in an asisited living facility and my sister had this awesome idea  for us to make crafty gifts, for the ladies that assist my mom.  Sis put a basket in her room and we are trying to keep it full of crafty goodies.  Mom likes the basket too, she gets lots of vistors!!!

Try it Tuesday~ A large paper Star from paper lunch bags!

Thanks for stopping in for Try it Tuesday!!!  This is not my idea.  I saw it on FB and 

pinned it to my Pinterest board and that is where it stayed until this past weekend.

Have you seen the large star that is made from paper bags?

Super cute, right!!

  

To make this it takes 7 lunch bags ( I used 8, trying to be different) ~

I can walk you through this but here is the original post for the Giant Paper Bag Stars

These are the bags I purchased.  I haven't made a Kraft Star yet, but I will.

To make the paper bag star you hot glue 7 bags ,one on top of another, creating a stack of bags.

Then you cut the tips off the bags to make a point.  Then you hot glue the front bag to the back bag.

Use a hole punch to make a hole, to run twine through, for a hanger.

To add the color, I created a mask for the blue and then cut strips for red.

The products I used were Dylusions by Ranger in Postbox Red and London Blue.

I used what I had on hand.  The next step I did was add chipboard stars (sprayed with Dylusions /White Linen). Adhere to paper bag star.

Final step was splattering, the paper bag star, with black and white

  irRESISTible texture spray.

You still have plenty of time to make this for the 4th of July :) !!

Try It Tuesday~ Watermelons, again!

All you need to create this cute watermelon refrigerator magnet is~

Brazil nuts (in the shell)

Acrylic paint ( red, black, white and green)

Paint sealer or Varnish

Magnet

Hot glue

Our area is known for delicious watermelons, so I kinda have a thing for

 watermelon decor in the Summer:)

  This is a simple project perfect for kids~

Instructions~

* Locate the nuts:) ~

this is where I got mine.

* Paint a line of green on the bottom front.

* Paint the red next. 

* Add a white scribble line between the green and red.

* Use a small rd #2 to make the black seeds.

* Varnish, let dry.

* Hot glue magnet to the back.

This is one of my kid crafts for this summer. (I will be operating the hot glue gun:)

Kinda of cute:)

Try It Tuesday~

Hi everyone~welcome to Try It Tuesday!!!  I have really been busy and have done lots of cool stuff ( I just can't release it yet) ~ soon though!!!!  But anyway here is one very cool children's book.  It has no date on it and I paid way to much for it but .....but....... I had to have it.  You see, I am a painter! 

I painted and did craft shows, went to painting classes, painted on ceramics and then I started scrapbooking~it has been 12 years. Hubby says I usually only last 5 years and then move on to a new adventure!! ha,ha. ~ a look at the inside pages.

This is another sweet, sweet set.  I think this is around 1950, again no date, but it is adorable ~ for sure!!!

I have another old set~I'll put it up soon. It is older than this one!!!

This was given to me by one of my best friends~the name on the book is ~Master Book.  It is a craft book. It is falling apart that is why I have it tied up, the pages are crumbling but it very cool.  The date is 1928, it went to the trash bin and she saved it for me~love it!!!

We are waiting on a , sweet little baby boy to arrive to our family this month ~I found these in Indiana and want to use them in some way for our sweet little bundle.  My sister's girl is due May 28~almost here!!!

a Crafty weekend~

Good morning!!!!  I had such a great weekend, got lots done and the Spurs won!!!!!  I love a good productive weekend.  I actually scrapbooked six layouts.  Got some happy mail Saturday and a happy email last night.  June is gonna be busy~but I love being busy!!!  This is one of the crafty things I made this weekend~

More old Bingo cards made into a notebook ~in this case a Score Book!!!  My granddaughter invented a game:) :) that her and I play all the time~so I made her a score book.  I thought it will be neat to see what she writes in it and  how she determines what the score is. 

I used scraps of this and that by October Afternoon, Jenni Bowlin, Jillibean Soup, Prima, Helmar and Making Memories.

and the inside~

I put this all together using my Bind-It-All by Zutter.  I love finding unique pieces and re-purposing them, but then you know that!!! :):)  Have a fabulous Monday and I'll see ya soon!!!!

Some Crafty Time.....

Hi everyone~hope you are having a great day! This was my project for yesterday. I used Jenni Bowlin,

the Tim Holtz bird cage die and Primas to make this magnetic note board for my "scrappy" area.  I put a magnetic clip on it ~so it makes it real easy just clip things to it that I need to remember or inspire me and it looks so "shabby" cute!!!
