DYL Week 8

We are on Week 8 of Design Your Life. I feel like I'm learning so many principals of design. This week it is on emphasis. When you use enlargements you achieve that "stand out" effect. These were this weeks sketches. Glad you stopped by today. Have a great day!!!

Week 7 is done!!!

Week 7 of DYL. I used some of are DC trip pictures and the sketch was perfect for these types of pictures. Not a lot of journaling, just when and where. The paper is by American Crafts and is a couple years old so it was very nice to use some old product.

This one was taken at the Museum of Natural History. I couldn't believe all of those sea shells. Such a beautiful site. On this one I used SU cardstock and Jenni Bowlin alphas. Thanks for stopping by and have great day!!

Mini album of the "grands"

This a little "mini album" I did in Week 2 of Design your Life

The album is of our wonderful and crazy and silly grands!!! They are the best subjects for a project like this. The album shows repetition and that makes the pages "go together" in unified way. These are great looking kids!!! Thanks for stopping by!!

More DYL/Real World Color

These layouts were inspired by "color" out in the real world. This is week 2 and 3 assignments. Doing these layouts, using color combos, found on buildings, in advertisements and other places has got me looking for that great color combo out there in the "real world". Have a great week!!!!

More DYL/week 2

Here is a couple I did for week 2 of Design your Life. I used some Christmas pictures I took in December. The top one is 12 x12 and the bottom is a double spread of 8 1/2 x 11. I have never worked with that size before so these are still not where I want them to be-so just hang in there. They have got to get better!!! Thank for stopping by!!!!

I'm taking the Design Your Life Class by Cathy Zielske over at
