Hi guys!
I started watching the tutorials on the Distress Oxide inks by Ranger and
was hooked, without even owning any. So I took care of the owning part fast!!
The backgrounds are using the oxides and the sea shells are stamped
with the oxide but only splats of water applied to the shells (very controlled).
The oxide ink was applied to my Tim Holltz mat, sprayed with water and then I ran my white carstock through the color. The more water you spray on the oxide, the more oxidation will happen. It has a leathery look and feel. The brown on the top of the card was added on top of the green. Layering works with the oxides. The colors stay on top , they don't bleed together.
You can see the controlled water splats on the shells. The oxide only
reacts to the water lands.
Products used:
Ranger/Distress Oxide: peeled paint, faded jeans and walnut stain.
Darkroom Door: Texture: map, Seashells.
Stamper Anonymous: #hashtags.

What great info on Oxides. I have nearly all but was unaware of some of it's properties. The cards really show how it works. I have often got what I call "mud" when trying this technique with the original distress inks. Great cards. Thanks.
