Satin Flowers~different ways!

Just a quick blog post to show the completed flowers.  I sewed around the edges on a couple and added different kinds of leaves and stick pins look great in them.  They are held together with a needle and thread and Helmar 450 Quick dry.  I even used some mists on them for some shimmer.  Just wanted to show you all the different ways to dress them up or dress them down.

Satin homemade flowers ~tutorial!

I wanted to post how I made the satin flowers yesterday but I ran out of daylight~so I got it done today.  They are really fun to make and will look fabulous as hair bow clips, embellishments on scrapbooking pages and altered projects.  I made these into hair bow clips for my little girl peeps!!

I sewed a button in the middle of the flower and then glued the clip part on the back. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry for this.  After I finished I thought sewing around the green leaves would look neat too!! I'll to try that on the next ones.

This is how I finished the back out.  For you local peeps I got the leaves and clips at Craft Crossing.

Try It Tuesday~homemade flowers!!

Hi everyone~I have been out of town { again}!!! I went to may parents and my sons came with their families and we had a great time being together~one of those fabulous times that  we will remember fondly.  While I was there my crafty sister { that goes by cardsister} gave me these "way cool" flowers she made out of silk material and the Sizzix circles die. 

Aren't these cool?  You cut the circles out of the Sizzix die and then , very carefully burn the edges with a candle. 

Here is the folder she made when she gave them to me~super cute and what a great gift for a "crafty" friend!!!  I'm having a blast making these!!!!

I made two flowers and used them on these cards.  You can really make a ton in no time~love that!!!

Stick with Helmar in September~

Hi everyone, this is our awesome sketch for September over on Helmar's blog  It is by Lydell Quin one of the Helmar Hottie's ( as Tracy calls us)!!!  Hope you will give it a go!!!  Great prizes as always. Here is my take on the super fabulous sketch~

The pattern paper is by Jillibean Soup.  I used Epiphany Crafts 14 round bubble cap and the vintage settings, so cool to make your own matching buttons!!  The Spritz is by Clearsnap and the yellow paint by Jenni Bowlin.  I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry to adhere the embellishments!!  Hope to see your work posted on Helmar's blog!!! I made more cards~

 

Yes more cards~ using more Kraft cardstock and that fabulous butterfly by Jenni Bowlin. I spritzed it with Shimmerz red.  I glued everything with Helmar 450 Quick Dry.  Here is another one~

These cards are about 6 1/2" X 8 1/2"  {then fold and score at 4 1/4"}.  Hope you are inspired to get that scrap bag out and make some cards~when I do this I feel like I got free cards, because you use pieces of your favorite pattern paper!!! Thanks for stopping in and see ya soon!!

I made cards~really?

I have been making cards all day today~ and it was fun!!! I got my scrap bag of Jenni Bowlin out with some Kraft cardstock , my Helmar 450 Quick Dry and started !!! I have a couple of Jenni Bowlin stamps that I had not used and I'm sure liking them.  The bottom frame label is one ~ it comes in three sizes!!!

This one, the girl holding the star wand ~ love it!!!! I just keep using it** sigh*** !!! So vintage!!

I saw a blog post over on ScrapStreet and it inspired me to use Kraft cardstock for cards.  Here is the post on ScrapStreet~these fabulous cards are made by Dora!!!  Have a great Thursday~see ya soon!!

Try It Tuesday~ this is a must try!!!!

Hi everyone~this is a super cool technique that Shimelle showed us {gals taking her Free class at 2Peas} yep~could be you too!  Anyway,  seven pictures on a single layout.  I loved that idea!  So here is my take on this sketch that you can find here~

The accordian piece will hold six pictures and then the mat beside it, the other one.  I'm not going to try to explain this because Shimelle does a video that is awesome.  The link is in this post to check it out!

Trying to show you how this folds in and then pulls out to view all of the pictures.  One of the spaces I used for my journaling.  I have done this sketch three times and I tweek it, each time, to my needs.  I love the fact that it holds seven pictures on one single 12 x 12 paper!
