Try It Tuesday~bi-fold Authentique with Helmar!

Hi everyone!!! Today is Try It Tuesday~ I wanted to share with you the awesome bi-fold cardstock papers by Authentique. When you glue the sides ( Helmar 450 Quick Dry) it makes a pocket.  I made several of these for "grands" art work.  I have art work (which I encourage, by the way) all over every where. I can't bring myself to through it away, especially when it says "I Love You, Nini"~ I gotta keep it!!!!

I have made several so I will be showing all  of them in the next few days.  Hope you have a great Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!!! See ya soon!!!

My "Standard"~

Remember when I posted this picture.  What a great junkin' find!!! An original Standard stamp holder {you know the wooden kind like Tim Holtz use}.  Well I wanted to show you how I'm using it.  The prongs on it are sprung out, so it won't work as it was originally intended to so I tried this~

Actually it works great!! I had bought some more tissue tapes so I needed a place for them~

and then there is this Standard~

Still works like a charm~these were the office tools of the 50's and 60's!!! I remember sharpening my pencil on this when I was in grade school~all of us in a line, waiting are turn, getting are two pencils ready to start the day!!!!

Texana Designs~nice!!!!!

Last Saturday Craft Crossing {LSS where I teach} had Texana Designs in house with their fabulous stamps for a Trunk Show. The DT was doing make n takes !!! Oh I had a blast~nice to be on the other side of the table learning. These are my make n takes~just wanted to share !!

These represent four stamps, the wild flowers, I {heart} wildflowers!, the cute little chicken and Happy Easter. Such fun little projects!! Next were these two cards~

I loved doing these even if I whined at first.  The Iris folding looked so hard and it is so not!!! The second one is embossed paper piecing ~ very cool!!!!

A close-up of the Iris folding. This is very fun and doesn't take a huge amount of time.  I bought a couple of kits, I liked it so much!!  I'm thinking Jenni would  look awesome in Iris fold~
I do want to give a shout out to the design team member's~Jimmye Sue Mitchell /owner, artist, Joyce A. Meyer (JAM'n Stamps) artist, Janet Bradshaw / designer, Jilda Bolton /designer, Karen Lambert/designer, Libby Hickson/designer and Linda McClain/designer!!! VERY talented bunch of ladies!!!!! Thank you ~ hope to see you soon!!!

Another recycling project~

Hi everyone!!  I have been recycling again~I can't help it !!! I took these product containers from Little Yellow Bicycle and Tim Holtz and made some easy little gifts. I have Easter on my mind~

I used Jenni Bowlin scraps.  I just can't bring myself to cut sheets of paper for this kind of crafty stuff!!

The ribbon is by May Arts.  I also used Prima, Elle's Studio, Jenni Bowlin {new bird punch}.  These don't take long at all. Just cover the cardboard insert, in the package, and then fill with treats and decorate the front~couldn't get any easier. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry to glue the embellishments to the front of the container. Works every time.  I love easy!!!

Hope you make a bunch!!!! See ya soon!

Try It Tuesday~a simple portfolio!!

Hi everyone~this is a really easy project using the bi-fold papers by Authentique and Helmar Craft Glue

Score bi-fold paper 4" long ways across the paper.

Next score at 6" {down the middle} on both sections of the bi-fold.  It should look like this folded.

Punch scallop design along the edge that is to be folded up.

Glue middle section #2 & #3 together~Helmar Craft Glue is what I used.  You now have the portfolio ready to decorate.  I matted pattern paper on the inside for added color.

The portfolio is about a 6" X 8".  I decorated the front with ribbon, rosette flowers, buttons and I used Tim Holtz's tissue tape on the edge that was glued together.

I'm using it to hold all my Authentique alpha's and stickers~they will all be in one place!!! I love Authentique papers as much as I love Helmar products!!!

and ~don't you just love, after one door closes and another one opens~I do!!!
Have a good one! See ya soon!

My source for Inspiration~ well one of them!!!!

Hi everyone!! Coming off of a great weekend~We went to my favorite store and one of my main sources for inspiration.  I revealed to you in my last blog post my thing was antique hardware~from door knobs, to drawer pulls, to hinges, back plates ~ you get the picture.  Here is where we went, the store has changed but it is still full of inspiration~in fact it is everywhere you look!!!

I love getting a copy of their catalog~great patterns and ideas for scrapbook pages and altered art!!!

I loved this pattern and plan a scrapbooking page after it!! The pictures I'm showing are out of the catalog.

I saw these tables in the store and they are just magnificent as they are in the catalog.  The store clerk told me they are an exact replica of a 5th-century ionic capital.  Wow~it looks authentic to me!!!

Loved how the old photo's were arranged!!

Love the wire baskets!!!

And so excited I found another "5" for my collection ~ I really feel like I got two for one because I'm planning on using the box also!!!!

I hope you enjoyed this post.  Catalogs are great sources of inspiration for your art and scrapbooking.  I love getting catalogs when I go to my favorite stores!!! Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow for Try It Tuesday!!!
