Try this Tuesday

I love adding my "grands" art work to my layouts!!! It breaks up the photos and saves a piece of their original work because so much of it hits the trash!!! I hope you give this a try and save a piece of original art work of your kids or grands!! They will love it when they grow up!!! I have shown a couple of ways you can include it -so give it a try!! Try this Tuesday

I almost forgot about this being Tuesday! Ugh!! Have you ever taken one die cut paper , cut it in half ( right down the middle) and use it for two layouts. I love how the die cut paper adds character to the layout-so I do this often.

I have even used two different die cut papers, cut them in half and use each half on one layout-really different and interesting look!!! Get you some die cut papers and experiment with them-I know you will begin to love using them. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Summer time.....

Summer is here!!!!! These were done with "Free Spirit" by Little Yellow Bicycle. I love the bright colors and the 70's feel!!! Almost brings tears to my eyes-I was a 70's kid in high school!!! You can find this and many more, actually much more at Craft Crossing in Gonzales. Pam has the "coolest" stuff in town-all kinds of crafty goodies. Check out my class on June 26th @ 2:00. We will be doing a layout using Jenni Bowlin and a bonus project!!! I will put up pictures in the next couple of days!! Have a good one and do something "crafty".

to this!!! Take a layout that you have done and add some more "stuff" to it. In both of my examples I like the ones that have more on them than less. I know it is a personal preference but "try it"!!!! You can even do the reverse -instead of adding take off and see how you like it. Some fun things to do - always training your EYE for the best you have to offer! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Journal

This is a journal I did the other night using my Jenni Bowlin scraps. I got the idea for the mitered corners from Nic over at Big Picture Scrapbooking.

I'm not going to say it was a fast project because it wasn't but it was very fun and learning to do the mitered corners was a learning curve!!! Maybe next one I do won't take as long! I added glimmer mist to the frame to make it look old and my brand new Tim Holtz Sizzix die I painted with acrylic paint and then covered with crackle accents by Ranger. Very fun project - I'm ready to do another one just need sometime.

With a little help from some special friends , I got a name and decided to post an idea or something to inspire you, to try on your own, every week on Tuesday! Sounds fun, right!!! Ok here is the first one. I got my bag of Jenny Bowlin scraps {my favorite manufacturer if you didn't know} and just started putting cards together. You will surprise yourself at what you can come up with using little pieces of paper that you would have thrown away!! One of my favorite things is to make something out of nothing. Have fun with this one and let me know what you made-might be a prize in it for some lucky "crafty" person. Have a great day!!!
