DYNO-MITE t-shirt with S.e.i.~

Hi, Connie here with a boy t-shirt using the DYNO-MITE iron-on art from S.e.i.  Purple and green Tumble Dye were the perfect colors to add some color to the t-shirt.  The fabric markers, by S.e.i,  were used to color in the DYNO image.  Let me show you~

To create this look, iron on the DYNO image on a white t-shirt.  This is a large iron-on so section it off when applying the heat from the iron.  I did a section at a time and then peeled back the white backing paper and then another section until the image had released from the t-shirt.  Add color by using the Tumble Dye sprays.  Just spray on the shirt in different places with different colors.

Use fabric markers by S.e.i. to color the DYNO-MITE image.  That is the fun part.  You can even use the Tumble Dye, with a small  paint brush, to color in the image.  Very fun and kids will love creating their own custom t-shirt.

Easter Egg cards with Quick Quotes!

Hi, Connie here with a fun Easter Egg Card tutorial using the border strip papers from several collections by Quick Quotes.  I used  Whistlin' Dixie 100 and Anchors Aweigh 101 to make these cards.  All you need to know is how to draw a large egg shape.

Here is a quick tutorial~
So easy even the little peeps can do this.
#1. You will need a 12" X 12" sheet of border strip pattern paper. Quick Quotes has several to choose from.
#2. Fold the pattern paper in half, long ways, making the paper 6" X 12".  Draw the egg shape on white copy paper and cut it out.  Lay it about a 1/2" over the fold of the pattern paper.
#3. Clip the egg pattern to the pattern paper and cut it out.  You will have an egg shape card that opens.  Decorate the front.  Use Quick Quotes PowderPuff  Chalk Inks to shade the edges of the card.
So fun to make and will look super cute in an Easter Basket!

March Tag with Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with my Clear Scraps tag for March.   I used 6" stencils,
by Clear Scraps, to create a mixed media tag.

March1
Instructions~
#1. Paint the tag with acrylic paint. Let dry. Create a background, for the tag, using 2 or 3 colors of acrylic paint. A Gel Printing Plate is fun to use.
#2. After the tag background is dry, start adding stenciled images. Clear Scraps has awesome designs for this. Go crazy!!
#3. When I was happy with the background, the ribbon was tied on and the Mirror Butterfly was painted with acrylic paint.
#4. Stencil the Butterfly and attach to the tag. Add embellishments behind the Butterfly if you like.

Try It Tuesday ~ Sorter bin!

Well that is what I'm calling it ~
a sorter bin (probably an old shop nuts & bolt bin) but a great tool to sort products.
Hi guys :)
Let me show what I started with (hubs helped) ~

Kinda of a mess but so cute (in it's own way). Well it spoke to me.

Cleaned out the inside of the bin with Mineral Spirits, broke down the old
oil and grease. Wiped right out . Then it was spray painted with deep green ( Hunter Green).

It could have used two coats but it did clean it up and
doesn't it work great as a sorter?
Great space for my Darkroom Door stamps.

Love simple projects and a great junkin' find.

My room is finished and I love how it all came together.  I will share photos very soon.

Got to love a phone stand ~ Clears Scraps is brilliant!

Hi, Connie here with, my take on, the Vintage Phone Stand by Clear Scraps.   I must say I thought this product was brilliant and clever.  My mom has claimed this one as hers.

Ps4

This was pretty simple to put together.  Here is how I approached this creative project!
Instructions:
Cover the acrylic back (that holds the phone) with pattern paper and ink around the edges.  Remember to remove the plastic film from both sides of the phone stand.

Ps1

Use Black StazOn to add color to the  Phone Stand.  Let dry for a few minutes.

Ps3

Now for the fun part, add some stencil images.  The 6" Chevron by Clear Scraps
is perfect for this.  Black StazOn Ink works well.

Ps5
Add a few embellishments and twine and it is ready to use.  In my case, ready to give to my mom!!

Tumble Dye and Burlap with S.e.i.

Hi guys!
My turn on S.e.i.
I'm here rocking the Camo Tumble Dye by S.e.i.  on a set of  burlap cosmetic bags.  I added some vintage flair to the bags too. Camo and vintage, who would have thought to pair these two together.  Let me show you~

I started by spraying the cosmetic bags with brown, black and green Tumble Dye.  It is the Camo set by S.e.i.  I started with brown first, then black and green Tumble Dye last.

I loved the idea of adding a pink and camo flower to the front of the cosmetic bags I sprayed some extra burlap with Pink Tumble Dye and the three Camo colors and then used a steel die to cut the flowers.

Vintage lace and a large pearl button was added to create the pink and Camo flower cluster on the front of the cosmetic bags.  The bags were sprayed with an acrylic sealer to stop the burlap flowers from fraying.

I though these bags would be great for craft supplies, not just cosmetics~

See what I mean~fabulous !!!

Junkin' ~ textile love!

Hi guys!
I have some more junkin' stuff to share and it is really good stuff :)
I love old textiles. I don't buy them very often because I'm kinda of picky.
I'm not a fancy type, I love plain and simple but pretty.

I found these pillow cases for $11.  They are in excellent condition.

These were $15.  Love the teal color and the lace. They are narrow pillow cases
so I will need to make custom pillows to fit.  They will be very pretty on my bed:)
(my hubby is gonna love more pillows on the bed, too)

I don't think the trim is really old but I really liked it.  I want to use it on
 a denim shirt.
$3.

I had a bunch of these doily's  but have shared them with blog friends.
They would make amazing flowers or pins for a shirt.
I still have a few to create with.

My dad's handkerchief.  Isn't it cute:)
**************************
Next week my work/craft room is being re-painted.  It has been kinda of crazy preparing for that.  I'll have lots of picture when I get it all put back together.
