Champion by Darkroom Door~

Hi guys!!
Hope you had a great weekend!!!
I have a card to share today using the Champion Word Block by Darkroom Door.  I love the word blocks because you can use them so many different ways.  Full of "winner" words!!! Let me show you~

Stamp the Champion Word Block image two times. Take a half inch off of one stamped image . Mat it tight leaving about a forth of an inch, of cardstock, as an edge.  On the other image just mat it tight, same as the first image. Pop up the small image on the large image and then adhere to the card front. Stamp the word CHAMPION and cut it out. Add shimmer to the cut out word and adhere to the front of the card. Add star brads or rhinestones.  Add corners and speckle with black ink or acrylic paint. See all of the words you stamp and add to projects :)

Folk Flower stencil by Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a card using one of the new Folk Flower 6" stencil by Clear Scraps.  Stencils are a clever way to add color and design to your card front.  They also make a mean background for projects.

I colored the stencil in with Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalk inks.  I tape off the section so ink doesn't get in parts of the stencil that I don't want colored.   Painters tape works great for that. Peels off easy without damaging the stencil.  The stencil was laid flat on white cardstock and colored with a small flat steeple brush.
Also new is chipboard words ~ Believe  !!!  I want them all. They are so easy to add ink and embellish.  And they look fabulous!!

Try It Tuesday~Stars by Darkroom Door!!

Hi guys!
Thanks for stopping by for
Try It Tuesday!!!
I have a card to share using a new stamp set by Darkroom Door
called Stars!   Very cool!!!

The stars look like I applied crackle medium to get that effect but it is the stamp. It is etched that way.  I have them on my desk to create with as I write this blog post.

Stamp the Stars on coordinating paper.  On a regular size card, two medium and two large fit nicely. Fussy cut them out and add shimmer to them.  There are several different ways to do that, glitter or glitter pen.  Thread four buttons with twine and adhere them to the center of the stars.  Stamp a sentiment for the center of the card.  Place the Stars and the sentiment on the front of a matted card. Arrange to your liking. Add corners. Speckle with white texture spray.  Card size is 5 x 5.

Hi, Connie here with a scrapbook page using the 49 Shades of Grey Collection by Quick Quotes. This is a great collection of black, grey and white color tones that work perfect with the other collections by Quick Quotes.

The inside page has a special edge and I wanted to share with you how that was done.

#1. Cut a half inch off two adjoining sides. Making the paper 11 1/2" X 11 1/2".
#2. Adhere to the 101 (grey polka dots) paper, leave about an inch from the edge with no adhesive.
#3. Take a water pen and run a line of water along the edge with no adhesive.
#4. Fold and bend the wet paper. Do all the edges the same way.
#5. When the edges are dry, ink for shading.

Makes for an unique paper edge and holds the ink well.

Word Frame from Clear Scraps!

Hi, Connie here with a new product alert.  "My Story" is one of the new Word Frames by Clear Scraps  I had the opportunity to create one for the CHA 2016 Clear Scraps booth. Let me show you how I started~

1. Lay the acrylic frame to one side for now.
2. Paint the chipboard backing with acrylic paint and let dry.

3.  Stencil the Chevron pattern randomly on the painted background.  I used black StazOn ink.   Splatter with black acrylic paint.
4.  Trace and cut out letters for the Word Frame ~ My Story.

5. Attach the journal strips to the letters, telling your story.

6. Remove the plastic film from the top side of the acrylic Word Frame.
7. Stencil the tree branch with leaves in several places.  I used acrylic paint and a steeple brush.

8. When the acrylic is dry, clip the back and the acrylic together.
9. Place the letters you cut out in the letter slot on the front of the frame.  If you like a photo to be included, place it on the letter "O".
10. Keep the acrylic and chipboard clipped together so you can punch holes at the top to make a hanger.
11. Add ribbon or wire.
