Junkin' on the internet~

Hi guys~I've been junkin' on the internet:):) .  I found this site that has the coolest junk and coolest prices:):)  It is a site for dealer's so you have to spend at least $25 ~  no problem!!!   I bought these for my grandson. He collects them, but they sure would make a colorful wind chime.

I'm a sucker for milk caps, I'll admit it.  I have lots but not any like these.
I love the orange and green, orange and yellow, well all of the colors!!  I keep thinkin' these would be really cool sewed together to make a garland for a Christmas tree.  Just wonder if the needle would go through the milk cap?  hmmmm~ Because I have so many the first three peeps that email me with their addy, I'll send you some.

And flat keys, I can't pass them up.  They are the perfect size for scrapbooking or altered art projects. These were a dollar. The site is HERE

JBS May Artisan Kit with Louise Nelson!

Hi guys~ This is a layout I did using the JBS May Artisan Kit.  I have to admit I bought it for the Louise Nelson hand carved feather stamp ( she sales these on her blog).  I just checked and the kit is sold out but there is always cool stuff in the JBS Mercantile.

The paper is My Mind's Eye  and Fancy Pants. I used the Dylusions Ink Sprays to add some color to the white chipboard.

Try It Tuesday~Ceiling tin re-purpose with JBS!!!

Hi guys ~ I have been doing some re-purposing again using vintage goodies from the JBS Mercantile {Flea Market section}.  This is a vintage ceiling tin.

This is what I started with.  I used acrylic paint to add some color to it.  I did paint it with Gesso first. The products I used are by Claudine Hellmuth / Studio Paints by Ranger.

All other products are by Jenni Bowlin Studio.  The feathers, chipboard pieces, rub-ons and stickers all can be found in the JBS Mercantile.  I have done several blog posts on the note pad cut in thirds from a legal size note pad {purchased from office supply store} you can find that HERE.

I used a floral frog to display the note pad/vintage ceiling tin on.  Check out the JBS Mercantile/Flea Market section for more one-of-a -kind items.

Vintage Fusion cards with Vintage Street Market!

Hi guys~It is my monthly blog post over on Vintage Street Market.  I did two cards this month. One a Mother's Day card and the other a Graduation card  I used the fabulous Vintage Fusion on both of them { merging the old with the new}.

I loved the old flash card on this one.  I'll be making more of these.

Remember the old greeting tags that would come with plants from the florist?  That is what is used here.  I used the Twirly Twine by Vintage Street Market to make a bow.

The second card is for Mother's Day.  More Twirly Twine and vintage fusion.  I really love how both of these cards came together:):):) Love the old and new mixed!!!!

Take a look at all of the vintage goodies in the Vintage Street Market online store. So many neat items, cool ephemera and other one of a kind items!!!

Have a GREAT extended weekend
and I'll see ya back here for Try It Tuesday!!

Some Sunshine with DRD!!!

Hi everyone~Connie here with a set of card/tags using the new and fabulous Sunshine background stamp by Darkroom Door.  I have to be honest, I loved it at first sight.  I used it on some high gloss pattern paper and love the effect!!   I also  have a thing for butterflies so that made it an easy choice as to what to add, to the center of the Sunshine design.  I  also used the Butterflies and Wings set.

Beautiful inspiration on this blog:):).

Using the Triangle background stamp by DRD!!!

Hi everyone~Connie here with a project using the new background Triangle stamp by Darkroom Door.  When I went to stamp on the pattern paper I rolled the stamp, trying not to get those sharp edges.  I achieved that in some places and not in other places:):)

I also used the Everyday Life Collection and the Big Numbers Collection.  I love how these stamps look fabulous with each other.  So easy to mix it up.  To how other team members used this stamp check out the BLOG.  The paper is by Authentique.

Be sure and check out the stockists for the USA.  You can find it  HERE.

Dylusions inks~I took a class!!!!

I took a class at Craft Crossing ,over NSD weekend, with Janet Bradshaw .  She is on the DT at Texana Designs.  This was my second Dylusions Class, my first was in Florida last year with Dyan Reaveley herself.  I had a great time using the stamps and inks but most of all learning to use them together.  Here is the technique /reference book we made in class.

Using the stencils with a white gel pen~looks awesome!

I'm getting braver here~ stamping, removing the ink with a brush pen, really love the look!!!

This is "our" self expression page~I'm not finished, I need to express some more:):):)

All the Dylusions Inks~

And this is the book I did in Florida with Dyan.   It is made out of the extra large tags by Ranger.

We did the same techniques that I had done in Florida but was a good refresher course!!

I know this is so out of the box for me but " I like it" ~ "I want more, I want more"  name that commercial

Try it Tuesday~Remember this, spool pin cushion tutorial.

Remember this vintage spool~

and this~ the famous spool pin cushion with the Tim Holtz (alcohol ink stained) pins.
This pin cushion has 6,500 page views on my blog and has been pinned over 500 times.  I have been asked for the use of the picture, to sell it, for a tutorial and "did I make it".  Here is the scoop~
I bought it 4 years ago in Branson, Missouri at a craft/antique mall.  I had no idea it would be such a hit and because of that I decided to make one with you~ so get a spool, burlap, hot glue gun, pillow stuffing,  measuring tape trim, buttons, and pins:):)
I cut a 5" circle out of some burlap material ( bought at craft store)~

This is showing how I started the process of stuffing the top of the spool.  I tagged it with hot glue in several spots and then added the stuffing.  I kept tagging with hot glue and adding stuffing.

It should look like this after repeating the process.

After that is done and it is all glued down~I went around it with the scissors and cut off the hang over~ It is now ready to decorate and add the measuring tape trim.  Just use what you have~old trim or lace would look pretty too.

and this is what I came up with!!! I did not buy anything special, just used what I had in my stash:):)
Let me know what you think:)
