another re-do~JBS!!!!

Remember this project I did for JBS~ I loved how it came together but doesn't fit in an album very good.  When I constructed it, I put it together using glue dots, they are strong but they will also pull apart easy.  I took the altered art piece apart and put it back together on some cardstock and JBS pattern paper from the boy meets girl set.

This is what I came up with~
I loved the feathers and they are so cool!!!!  I want them all:):)

Have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend!!
See ya soon!!!

And last a  close-up of some super cute kids:):):)  ~ Have a great Holiday weekend.  We will be traveling but I will be around and hoping for some major junk'in !!!
 Wish me luck!!!

Try It Tuesday~remember this....

Remember this on my felt cover for my dictionary~it was laid on the cover for the photo but it just seemed like it didn't belong there.   I love the upholstery button, the doily embellishment from JBS and the shell button and last, the shank button ~all stacked together like that.  I thought it would make a beautiful center for a fabric flower pin.

The pieces I'm using are the left over  strips from the felt dictionary cover.  The strips are about 6" long and I had 4 of them.  I put a line of hot glue on the Tim Holtz mat and scrunched up the felt along the hot glue line, giving the felt piece a gathered look.  Then I used an extra large gluber by Cosmo Cricket and started , in a circular motion, covering the base of the gluber and leaving a space in the middle for the button.  I hot glued it all down and added a felt circle to the back, of the flower, and then my pin .

Enjoy!!!
See ya soon~

Dictionary Stamping=FUN!!!

Hi guys~this all started with a visit to Godelieve Tijsken's  blog {she is a member of the Darkroom Door's DT } she is very talented and very nice.  I asked her could I Dictionary Stamp with her~so that is why I'm posting this.  This dictionary is old ~copyright 1955. Some of the pages are torn but for the most part in good shape.  Here is a sampling of my first stampings~

If you noticed I also added tissue tape to mark where my stamping are and I repaired some of the torn pages with it, also.

I used two of my favorite Darkroom Door stamp sets to begin with.

I used black ink {Memento}and Archival Ink by Ranger .  I really can't say one was better than the other.  The designs I chose are not heavy in ink.  The airy design works best so you won't have bleed through to the back of the page being stamped.  I colored with H2O's by Lumin Arte.  I will also try chalks, mists and several of the Viva products.  I also decided to put a cover on my dictionary {you know how it is ~one thing leads to another}

I'm not sure about the big sofa buttons ~ it's just laying there!

This is how I made my cover ~ very simple.   I used felt and machine stitched.  The sides are whipped down by hand:):)

Try it Tuesday~Classic Motorcycles by Darkroom Door~

Hi everyone, Connie here with a couple of card ideas using Classic Motorcycles  by Darkroom Door.  This was a fun set to work with.  On these cards I used the 3D-Stempel Farbe by Viva Decor as my background  (sponged on glossy cardstock).  The motorcycles are embossed with black embossing powder on cardstock.   These cards are truly made for a  free spirited gal.

I thought I needed to make something for  the guys, so I came up with some very easy gift tags.  These will look great tied on a special beverage or gift.  The trick on these is to stamp the handle bars (of motorcycle stamp) close to the fold.  When you cut out the image leave that part alone.  I stamped these on Kraft cardstock and used brown ink.
Thanks for stopping by and check out the USA stockist HERE.

Vintage labels~

Hi guys~another quick project using the vintage labels that are in the JBS Mercantile March Antiquarian  kit.  To make the flower I used the pinwheel punch and the quilt punch, added some leaves and moss.  The green bottle is vintage and the brown one isn't but I think it looks vintage. I just checked and this kit is sold out.  You can go Here and see what is still in stock.

Tart Tins~ a quick tutorial!

Hi guys~A quick, fun little project using the tart tins by JBS.  These make great photo stands for kid art and recipes holders {just a few that come to mind}~ really anything you want to showcase!

This explains it pretty good but I might add on #2,  be sure to hammer on the block of wood {placed inside the tin} if not you will have a sunken place on top of the tin~ask me how I know that:):):)LOL.
On #5 I put hot glue over the wires and then they didn't move around.  I wanted a clean look so I punched a circle and covered up the wires on #6.

And what is super cool ~the tart tins are on sale this month in the JBS Mercantile. Take a look HERE~ and check out the pinwheel punch, my new favorite punch!!!
  See ya soon~

Re-do with Vintage Street Market~

Hi guys~last year I did this project for Vintage Street Market and it has been hangin' out in my closet ever since.  You know muffin pans don't fit in albums very good so I removed everything from the pan and made a layout.  This is what I came up with~

I love how it came out and even gave it to my mom for some Easter cheer.  I will have another challenge~she does Creative Memories, so this  page will need to be cut down to fit her album.  I will take the cardstock off and trim the top and it will fit perfect but for now she has it displayed on an easel.

Have a great weekend and I'll see ya Monday!!!!
