Try It Tuesday~cards, Darkroom Door style!!!

Hi guys~I have been playing with  Darkroom Door stamps *** sigh***!! The top two are done with the "Vintage Automobiles Set" and the "Journey Word Block" stamp.  I loved working with both of  these. I thought of my dad the whole time.  He loved "old" cars!!!

On these cards I though I would make hubby a Valentine card {to be sweet} because I think I should make the card and be sweet!!!  I used the "Love Bird Set" by Darkroom Door~one of my favorite sets!!!  Gorgeous images!!!!

I call this simple stamping { I do lots of simple stamping}~great way to make embellishments for scrapbooking layouts too.

The paper is out of my scrap bin, so not sure of the manufacture.  I used "French Script" by Darkroom Door as my background stamp~love it!!!!

My birthday LO~

Hi guys !!! This is a layout I did for Hobby Lobby and it was requested for publication!!! I was so excited and then so let down when I got my magazine and this layout was not in there!! Ugh~
The layout is pretty simple but I loved how I used the card hubby gave me, in the design, and was able to hide the journaling on the back of the tags that held the photos { he made dinner, too} XOXOXO

I'm so not deserving but loved the special attention!!!  The paper is by Paper Studio !!!
One more thing~do you see the roses, yes roses too!!!

Also used are the Twirly Twine and Craft Bingo cards~all of these are in the VSM store!!!

On this one I added some cardstock and used some Craft Bingo cards and the Jenni Bowlin cards to layer behind the small photo. The Twirly Twine is curled up along the side of the cluster!!

If you haven't been over to Vintage Street Market in a while ~go take a look. Super cute vintage fusion kits, a new one for each month.  They are loaded with "goodies"!!!

Ballerina dancing in the Snow by A. Mercer

Hi everyone, I've been under the weather and continue to have some computer issues, so hang in there with me!!  This is a layout I did a few days ago of one of my "grands" getting her art work in the local Electricity Company's calendar.  She made getting published look easy.  So proud of her!!! and needless to say ~her picture of a ballerina dancing in the snow is so perfect for the January cover.

I used October Afternoon on this~loving the feather paper!!  and of course the green tones, right up my alley!!!  I'm gonna try really hard to have a good day~wishing you a good day too!!!

Award Badges with JBS!!!!

Hi, Connie here with a hybrid layout and a gift idea, for the vintage lover in your life.  First the hybrid layout~I used the Classic Round Label and the Tickets Stars & Stats digital files {you can find them HERE} and printed them out.  The paper is the Black & Red Collection Label Sheet and  Stencil Paper.

The award badge is made with paper scraps and the digital printable files.  I just checked all these goodies are in the JBS store:):):)!!!!!!!!

I came up with an idea to use the vintage coffee bag as a gift bag {because it is just way cool} the way it is.  It is perfect in its original state!!

The award badge is made with scraps of papers ~ Haven, Magpie and the new Coffee Label from this months kit release. I love the teal and red together.  I hot glued a cloths pin to the back of the coffee award badge, so it could clip on the bag{again not wanting to damage the vintage bag}:):) The coffee clip can also be used to keep the coffee bag closed {Starbucks} or you could also glue a magnet on the back of the cloths pin for little peeps refrigerator art!!!

This is my post for Jenni Bowlin this month!!
I hope you enjoyed these projects!!!!!

Try It Tuesday~ is back!!!

Hi everyone~I have been busy scrapbooking when ever I can fit it in!!! This is a layout I did using some Bella  Blvd.paper documenting our Spurs game we  went to.  This was a first for these two grands.  They were chanting defense, defense ...... and the little guy saying "Timmy"  {player for the Spurs} Yep, his daddy taught him that!!!!

I saved the tickets  and added them also~

This one is using Echo Park { this paper line is a few years old} but it was perfect for these pic's!!! Doing stuff this boy likes to do~puzzles!!!!

and here is a little re-purposing idea~

The top  paper piercer is by Making Memories ~ I use it a lot and have had it for years.
Then I picked this ice pick up for one dollar~thought it was cute and would make a bigger hole in projects.  Works great!! The end is a wine cork{so no one gets poked}:):):)

Great for chipboard and all the same things you would use a paper piercer for!!!

The class is January 20 @ 1:00 { Sunday } at the shop. Give Pam a call and save your spot

eff-em-er-a , I did it!!!!!

Here I am talking about this again~
I wanted to share a very cool comment that was left on my blog the other day!!! Made me smaile and I learned how to say ephemera.  So this is for all the people they say "old stuff" instead of ephemera ~ you can do this!!

Hi Connie, great briefcase and put to good use too.

I could never say THAT word (ephemera), so I asked an Antique Dealer to sound it out for me, so I will try to tell you how it goes.

You start with the "e" sounding the same as you sound the "e" when you say 'egg'. Then the "ph" has the same sound as you say "ff" (like a puff of breath). Then; the "em" is the same as you would say 'emma" and the "era" has the same sound as you would say in the word 'error' except you put an emphasis on the "a" rather than on "or".

In a nutshell the sounds are;

eff-em-er-a

I find it easier to say the "eff" first then hesitate just a tiny bit to get the mouth turned back the other way to add the "emera".

After a while you can say it quite quickly.

Okey...go practice...lol!
Many Blessings

Mixing it up ~with Darkroom Door!!!

Hi everyone, Connie here and I must say I'm glad to be here.
When I stamp I usually stay with one set and not mix other stamps in , but not today.  I have been stamping with five different Darkroom Door sets and guess what ~It worked!!!!

I used Photography, Love Birds { my all time fave} and my newest set, Stamper.
I love using stamps as the embellishments on my layouts!!!  and these are looking good!!

On this layout I used Tags, Big Numbers and Stamper.
I love the way brown ink adds a bit of vintage to the images.

We have sure come along ways in the stamping world and I'm so glad!!!!! Love all the different images we have to choose from~Check out the Darkroom Door Store HERE.   For local peeps Craft Crossing has an awesome selection of Darkroom Door stamp sets and singles.
