Try It Tuesday~more flowers!!!

I warned you Monday, a week full of flowers~the handmade kind.
The first one {green material} I used a cardboard circle about 2" and put Helmar 450 on it and twisted my material all around. I tucked the end under and put felt on the back of the cardboard.  The leaves are from Prima, the center is Jenni Bowlin and Prima {resin flowers}.  The ones the the right were done like this~

Kind of a knock off the Jillibean Soup ones.  I really like these and they were quick and easy using the Glubers by Cosmo Cricket.  Then I thought~what about painting them~

I did beige so I could try the Twinkling H2O's by Lumin Arte on them.

Painting them worked great and so easy and quick!!

And here you can see I added them on top of felt flowers I cut using my Sizzix dies.  The centers are Epiphany Crafts round 14 bubble cap, Jenni Bowlin's buttons and some felt leaves that I had.  Let me know what you think about these flowers!!!! See ya soon!!

Satin flowers with a twist~

Hi everyone ~ had a great weekend, did a little junkin' and that is always good for the soul.  I have been making flowers ~ all kinds so just so your not surprised that is what this weeks blog post will be on. Lets start with these~

I used satin material and cut circles with my Sizzix die, then I cut into the circle about an 1/8" .  This made a four petal flower.

You can't tell in this photo but when you put  the petal  on top of the flame to curl the edges {of the satin } it burns a bit to give it a cool shading effect.

After I curled all four petals I used my Tim Holtz tiny attacher and stapled the center and put a pearl in the middle of the flower. Here are some more pictures of the finished flowers.  I added some leaves by Prima also.

Beautiful but important than that they were fun to make!!!! Have a great Monday and I'll see ya soon!!

Vintage Street Market~

Hi everyone!! The weekend  is here~I'm going to go have lunch with a special friend and hoping to get some junkin' in too!!! This one I did using Vintage Street Market products. I love the Tinted Tape{ numbers}~so many things you can do with it!!!

Here is a close up ~ love the Tim Holtz rosette die with the Vintage Street Market red shiny paper ~ so retro looking!!! The old milk cap worked well as a center.   CHA{Craft and Hobby Association} starts tomorrow so I have been staying close to the computor.  Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that some of my work will be displayed in Epiphany Crafts Booth!!! Helmar USA is there too.

Have a wonderful weekend and if you are on Face Book I will post updates to my wall on "new products"!!

Vintage Street Market tags~

Greetings~Hope everyone is doing great!!!! These are the tags I did for Vintage Street Market design team call.  The tags are on two cardstock so you lift up the overlay and there is a lined tag underneath for you to write your sentiments on.  These would look cool tied on a gift of given as the gift with a gift card attached underneath.  I used Helmar Craft glue to adhere all the goodies together!!!

Today I was over on Epiphany Craft's Blog and tomorrow over on Scrap Street. Hope to see you pop in.  See ya soon!!!

Try It Tuesday~a must see!!!

Hi everyone~I had this cute little chest { by Kaiser} in my stash for a couple of years and thought it was time to do something with it. I used Helmar Decoupage, Helmar 450 Quick Dry, Helmar Zapdots and Authentique/Uncommon.  The hardest part of this project was getting the little chest put together and aligned properly but after that was done, it went together quickly.

I covered the chipboard with Helmar's Decoupage and Authentique.  I sanded the edges and inked them very lightly.  This stage took some time.  Be sure to let each drawer dry completely.

This is a back view. I used the book text for this and loved how it looked with my "made by" stamp.

Inside the little drawers view~

The embellishments from Authentique are adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry and Helmar Zapdots! The shiny buttons are by Bazzill Basics and the crocheted flower by my mother in law { a handmade original}!!

This was a fun project to watch it come together ~ but it did take a couple of days to complete.  I let it dry really good after each use of the decoupage.  Hope you enjoyed this  and have a great day!
 See ya soon!!

melon~water anyone.....

Hi everyone~hoping you had an awesome weekend.  We did a little shopping and got to spend time with two of our "grands"!!!  The crafty files are a bit empty but I did find this layout I did for ScrapStreet two issues back.  My call { as a street writer} was to use empemera on a layout.  I used Jillibean Soup, Jenni Bowlin, American Crafts, Helmar 450 Quick Dry and empemera {old green check}.  I love adding vintage to my layouts!!!  You can check out the new call for the April issue of ScrapStreet HERE.  My call is ~  Deceived. Make a LO that deceives the eye - for example, the layout shows two photos but it really has eight. Send two photos so we can see both views.   Send to submissions@scrapstreet.com  by February 18th.   Try It Tuesday will be up tomorrow ~ hope you plan on stopping in!!!!
See ya soon!!!

Jenni Style note pads~

Hi everyone~as you know I have been out of town.  The first thing I wanted to do was make something and get a new blog post up.  These are quick and I have gotten a great response from them so I thought I would show you some BTS shots!

This is how your legal size tablet looks all cut up.  You will get 12 salvage  and 36 of about 2 1/4" size. I you want bigger just adjust your size of cut.  I got these done at Office Max.  They are on sale for $6 for a pack of twelve.  Pretty good deal!!!

I glued {Helmar Craft glue} the paper to the back of the note pad { 2 3/4" x 12" }.  Then I cut another piece { 2 3/4" x 3 1/4" }~fold it over and glue. You are ready to decorate the topper.

I used Jenni Bowlin/Haven paper line.  It is cardstock thickness. The trim is by Graphic45 and some Tim Holtz label stickers are used, everything else is Jenni Bowlin.

Like I have said these are quick, fun and great little gifts!!! have a great weekend and it is good to be home.
See ya soon!
and PS~I won't do another blog post on these~promise!!!

So many pages~

Hi everyone~anyone in the same shape as me.  I need to put all of my {4 piles of layouts} in albums~it is one one of my least favorite things to do.  I love to create and don't wan to stop and put these in sleeves!  I know that is terrible~

This isn't even all of them~I have some in the store { Craft Crossing} and I have 13 hanging in sleeves above my window ~my "scrappy" curtains.  I am estimating over a hundred but not sure until I gather them all up and count them.

I use the American Crafts albums~green and brown and attach a year on the side and front.  I have 10 of these and over 40 Creative Memories albums. I love looking back {and so do the grands}at the photos and remembering the moments!!!  Would love for you to cheer me on in this endeavor and I will cheer you on~let me know when you have your albums full of your fantastic scrapbooking layouts!!

Hi everyone~just in time for Try It Tuesday!! I have been working with Authentique and Helmar and I made these two cards using my scraps!  I love using every bit of paper up.  The trim is by Maya Road ( several years back) and some bakers twine.

I don't really call myself a card maker but I do enjoy making them especially when I do it right!!!
I have one more project coming up on the Helmar blog this coming Friday using Authentique~I hope you will stop by and check it out.

Sketch of the month with Helmar~

Here it is the sketch of the month over at Helmar!!!!!!!!
I finally got mine done ~I must say this is one of my favorite sketches~

I made my own die cut paper by punching circles out with my circle punch and gluing them around the round paper.  I used Helmar Acid Free for this.

The paper is by Authentique and the ribbons are by May Arts!! There is still plenty of time if you want to try the sketch and load it up HERE.  Tracy loves giving glue away!!!!!

Here is a close~up of those beautiful ribbons!!!!Have a great Friday and I'll see ya soon!!!

Portfolio with Epiphany Crafts~

Hi everyone~I did this portfolio for Epiphany Crafts and love the way it came out!! I can't wait to fill it up and start using it.  I have done a little tutorial on how to fold the file folder{the kind with pockets}so you can get started!!!
Fold like an accordion~ and glue the two centers together. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry.

I adhered my papers to the folder~you can use one strip, all the same kind of paper or break it up like I did.  I used Authentique{which is a partnering ccompany with Helmar in a couple of weeks}and October Afternoon.. You can add a calendar, note pad, list pad, stamps refills etc.

This is the opening pages one and two.  The pockets are so good for stuff you don't know what do to with or you want to file later.

Close up of the awesome October Afternoon embellishments!!!!!

Pages three and four~sticky note pad, clips for tickets etc.

and the back~ the embellishments I used are Epiphany Crafts bubble cap Oval { my personal fave} and Epiphany Crafts bubble cap Round 25.  Also Jillibean Soup twine rounds on the front, Graphic45 trim and the magnet clip is by Basic Grey.  I adhered Tim Holtz tissue tape to the fold and it really made a difference keeping the front and the back from getting caught on things.  Hope you enjoy this and let me know if you make one!!!!   I'm up over at Helmar's blog tomorrow~would a visit!!  See ya soon!
