Helmar and FabScraps and December news!!!

This week Helmar is partnering with FabScraps from South Africa!!!!  The black circle flowers are by FabScraps as is the chipboard focal piece and the pattern paper. The flowers came as a border and I cut then off to make them separate. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry to glue the flowers and chipboard to the paper.  The buttons are sewed on.

The alphas are by American Crafts. The journal round is by Elle's Studio {love their goodies}  I used Jenni Bowlin's acrylic paint for the chipboard. The buttons are by Buttons Galore and more. No sketch this time~just started with the chipboard piece.

Try It Tuesday~a journal and a sneak look!!!

Hi everyone ~hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving and got your full of Turkey and trimmings!!!! I started out with The Paper Bakery's November add on kit and a composition notebook. I used the Echo Park papers and covered the front and back and inside covers. I then took Claudine Hellmuth's sticky back canvas and trimmed out the edges, so no raw paper edges were exposed.

I then started laying my design out on the front, deciding what will go where. The material in the kit is so fun and I knew I wanted to make a Gluber { by Cosmo Cricket} flower { I had enough material to get two flowers} I loved the trims in the kit~so vintage Christmas to me~the blue foil trim!!!

The inside of the composition notebook has a large pocket for receipts or notes. A great notebook for keeping track of all of those peeps you buy Christmas gifts for. I added some rubber stamps and inked all the edges. All of the embellishments were adhered with Helmar 450 Quick Dry!!!

Another view of the front~and the bottom photo, a view of the back.

Love how it came out and it will last for many years to come!! This kit is full of handmade embellishments that are sure to please!!! All the details on how to become a monthly subscriber are Here Remember the weekly sketch and the Design Team Call!! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!

One last Fall post with Epiphany Crafts~

Hi everyone~I'm full of turkey and Blessings!!!! Had a wonderful time with the kids~they are so fun {even the big kids}!!!! I have one last project for fall before we start on Christmas.  This layout is done using Bo Bunny pattern paper and Epiphany Crafts oval bubble cap.  I used the EC oval cap to make pumpkins for the layout.  The leather flowers and leaves are by Prima!!!  Here is a chart on how the oval bubble caps are laid out to form the pumpkins.

I glued them together using Helmar's 450 Quick Dry.  I used a leaf punch by Creative Memories and added it around the stem of the pumpkin.  Have a great weekend and I'll see ya soon!!!!!

Try It Tuesday~pumpkins and turkeys

Thanks for stopping by for Try It Tuesday!!!  I wanted to share with you this thankful card and how to make the pumpkins~all you need is a round shape or an oval shape. Either one will work. Use a punch or cut them out by hand.

Overlap one and two on three. Use Helmar Zap dots to add dimension.  Cut a piece of brown cardstock for the stem and add some leaves.  I didn't do this on these but you can also use bakers twine and make a vine by running your twine through Helmar's Acid free.

The inside of the card looks like this. I added a book mark to the corner of the card.  The book mark is a 3" x3" square , the sides folded in to make a point~like a tent.  Here is another example of the book marks are HERE~I know you all are just dying to see our turkey~living on a ranch and all.  We actually have two turkey's that hang around this time of year.

The grands really like this guy but me I love this GUY~

This guy is going on 28 years!!! Have a great week and I'll see ya soon!!!

Sweets~

Do you remember Foof-A-La?  It was a paper brand out a few years ago.  I always loved the color tones ~ the vintage feel it had.  I had a few sheets left so I worked it up~
I also used Prima, October Afternoon, American Crafts and some loose buttons I had.  I used Helmar Acid Free to adhere.

I machine sewed the little banner under the photo~ so cute! Sweets is really growing up fast, I love this picture of her.  The stars were aligned ~  Thanks for stopping by things are really getting busy.

Helmar, you blew me away~

This past Friday I received my Helmar DT box~let me just say it was everything and some more!!! I had no idea we would get the kind of supplies we did.  Just to name a few Maya Road, FabScraps, Authentique, Buttons Galore and More, Elle's Studio, Bella Blvd, Susie Bee Studios and tons of awesome Helmar glue!!  But there is always a but**** also in the box was Faber-Castell art pens and pencils****such a surprise.   OK the box~this is a stationary box my mom gave me a few years ago and I thought it would be perfect{hubby made some internal adjustments for me}to house all of my Faber-Castell art supplies.

I'm loving that they will all be in one place and easy for me to work out of {the box that is}.  I still have room for more sets.  The next thing we got a lot of was May Arts ribbon.  So pretty!!!! I wanted all of my May Arts ribbon to stay together so I would know that was the manufacture of the ribbon so I did this~A great use for an old Sears and Roebucks cloths hanger!!!!

Several of the Helmar girls have done video's of their haul. You can find the Helmar DT blogs listed on the side bar of the Helmar USA blog here.  If you want to see what we will be working with for the next 6 months take a look at the video's.  Thank you to all of the Helmar partnering manufactures and to Tracy ~sending hugs and blowing kisses your way!!!!!! See ya soon!

Try It Tuesday~gift card holder

This is that perfect gift for the teen in your life!!!  A gift card holder that will hold 4 gift cards from their favorite fast food!  So here we go ~

You will need 2 strips of pattern paper ( I used Authentique) cut 12"X3". You will score both of them at 4" and 8" making an accordion.  The next thing you do is lay them side by side to attach them together.

I used double sided tape and then covered with Tim Holtz tissue tape.  Makes a very nice hinge. Do both sides.

You will have 6 sections~glue section 2 and 3, back to back and section 4 and 5, back to back. I used Helmar's Craft glue to do this.

Side note: this picture does not show the two sections glued back to back ~ so don't get confused.  Go ahead and glue on your Canvas Corp mini envelopes (that will hold your fast food gift cards).  You are ready to decorate your envelopes and buy your gift cards.

I used the Marvy (pink) scallop punch and the Marvy (blue) oval punch to make my labels for the envelopes.  I added mini letters to name the envelopes.  I used Helmar's Craft glue for this project.
The Pumpkin on the front is the Tim Holtz die and the orange button is Jenni Bowlin. For you local girls Craft Crossing has these supplies!

If you want another version of this mini gift card holder go over to The Paper Bakery~I have a Christmas gift card holder up using Echo Park paper (from the November add on kit)  Hope you stop by and say hi!!!
See ya soon!!

A pocket with Darkroom Door~

Hi everyone I wanted to show a quick, cute way to make a pocket out of the Darkroom Door Tag Stamp set. I stamped out two large tags and cut them out. I  took a pencil and marked my pattern paper with a line to mark where I wanted the tag to be placed.  I then took my X-Acto knife and cut the pattern paper the length of the two tags together.  I adhered my 11"X11"  to the 12"X12" paper.  I then formed a pocket for the kid art.

I then adhered the two tags on my pencil mark making my pocket. The art work is actually between the two papers and the tags are the front of the pocket.  I then used twine and a Jenni Bowlin button to give the pocket a complete look. The paper is by Jillibean Soup. This is the tag set I used~You can find it here.

Thanks for stopping today and have a great day~see ya soon!!
