Altered Keys~

This was a fun project to tackle~as I have said before I love primitive country and my art reflects that. These aren't blinged out with rhinestone but with buttons, pearl tops, vintage finds, glass beads and some Tim Holtz, 7gypsies  and Making Memories goodies. I painted the keys with acrylic paint (dabber) by Adirondack several times~alternating between black and gold. The finding were glued on with Helmar 450, only took a few minutes  to adhere.

I tied on the hemp and added glass beads~the vintage photo's are by Darkroom Door.
I'm going to try some using the Tim Holtz alcohol inks and see how that works ~ so many possibilities!!
I used bits and pieces of items that I had on hand ~ an in house project!!!  I love that!!!

Would love to hear your ideas on how you would use these~ I was inspired by this post
and this blog{Snips of Ink and Shades of paper}.  Here is a couple of ways I used the keys I altered~

This one is hard to see the key~it is the {25}!  This is an old "Polly Anna" book cover that I bought for a few bucks at an antique store~thought the key was perfect for this!!

I store my Tim Holtz scissors in this old 7 Up bottle { found it on the ranch when we moved here}so I dressed it up a bit with the keys.  I should have taken a pic with the scissors {{{sigh}}} sorry about that!!!
Hope you enjoy this post ~ and check out the other 2 sites~very different from mine!!!  Have a good one!!!
