Try it Tuesday ~ change it up!!!

Have you ever put your embellishments down and they just didn't look right or you didn't like it ~ that happened to me on this layout.  I kept trying to like it and it never happened.  The more I looked at the layout it was the placement of the title that bugged me!!!! So I changed it up to this~
I liked it tons better!!!  So just change it up!! I used Basic Grey~Oliver on this and a tag by Debby's Designs.  You can see all of her fabulous tags, that she has created, at heART of Scrapbooking.
Here are some of the vintage "boy" tags that I worked up!!!
Have a great day and change it up!!!!

Toy Time!!!

Hi everyone!!! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving~we did!! It was one of the best ever!!!
I'm feeling so thankful and so blessed!!!  This is quick little toy I made for one of  our grands.  I used felt, plastic cards or chipboard and shapes(MME/Aph. Soup).  You can find the MME at heART of Scrapbooking along with other way cool stuff.  Back to the toy~just cover the cards or chipboard with the different colors of felt and glue the shapes on with Modge Podge.  Punch a hole in the top and put them on a ring. The little one can feel the felt and the shapes!!! Have a great Monday!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Good morning!!!! Before I start cooking ~ I wanted to wish eveyone a Happy Thanksgiving day!!!!  We have so much to be thankful for, so many "Blessings".
These are a couple of simple cards I did for heART of Scrapbbooking using the My Minds Eye/Alph. Soup.  I layered the backs of the cards with scrap pieces of the patten paper and then machine sewed around the card.
This layout is using the same MME/Alph. soup.  I layered pattern papers and did a little machine sewing on this one.  I cut the journal card in half and used it in two different places.  The stickers are American Crafts.  Most of the products used in these projects can be found at heART of Scrapbooking!!!Have a wonderful day!!!

Try it Tuesday ~ photos in a straight line!!!!

I really love this look !!! Three or four supporting photos and then a larger photo as the focal.  A favorite thing of mine to do is trail them off the page and cut the over hang off ~ leaving that photo strip look.  Here is another example~
Same thing but placing the focal photo in the center of the strip.  I have tried this using a black and white photo as the focal and it looks just as fabulous!!!  There are so many ways to change it up.  You can even let the photos trail off the layout , cut and then place the cut off part up at the top left corner.  I have done that and it looks so cool!!!!  I will show the layout after I do my class on it.  Have a wonderful week and enjoy your friends and family and know you are Blessed!!This is more of my work for heART of Scrapbooking ~ go check her out!!!!

ABC Cards with a library pocket holder

Hi evryone~ I know it has been awhile since I blogged, but I'm back with some great little projects.  This one I did for heART of Scrapbooking .
I used the library pocket cards as the holder of the ABC cards and decorated the front.  The cards are from My Mind Eye/Alphabet Soup for boys. You could even put the childs name on the front of the procket.  I attached the record card to the back for journaling purposes.  You could document the use of the cards or make notes of special times.  All of the products for this project can be found at heART of Scrapbooking.
This shot is showing a good close-up of the cards and how I attached them

Here is the back that I was describing to you with the record card.  This was a super fun project and my grandson's  teacher thought it was a great learning tool for him besides being very cute!!!  Have a wonderful day ( pre~paring for Thanksgiving)!!!  We are so "Blessed"!!!!!!

Thanksgiving banner with "vintage" turkey's!

Good morning!!!! I have been working on Thanksgiving decorations and a bunch of stuff I can't show but I can show you this Thanksgiving banner I made using some cool vintage clip art and these ( next picture).
I love cool shapes and I love to re-use things ~ saving them from the trash!! All I did was cut a banner shape out the packaging from the Jenni Bowlin chipboard elements.  It worked great~just cover with your favorite paper!!

This is a close-up of the middle piece. I used the Tim Holtz Rosette die to make the dangle element hanging from the center triangle.

This is another view of it~it was hard for me to get good photos!!It looks way cuter in real life!!!!

So here is another attempt to get a good shot.  I hope you can get the idea.
I'm featured on Debby's Dare blog today and would love it if you would drop by and let here know I sent you.  Have a wonderful day !!!!

Try it Tuesday

How about a little sticky back canvas on Try it Tuesday!!!!  I took a class with Claudine Hellmuth a few months ago and discovered some uses for sticky back canvas.  You can print on it just like paper~just load it in your paper tray and press the print button.  I made these little tag/cards by doing that.  I found the vintage turkey clip art over on Sharlotte's blog ~ she gathered the clip art and put it in a printable form.   My idea was to make gift tags that can be tied on a baked good for Thanksgiving!!!  The paper is October Afternoon and Kraft cardstock. I machine sewed around the image.  Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!

Cool Stuff!!!!

Everyone has cool stuff or at least  what they think is cool.  Today I'm going to show my cool stuff that inspires me to be creative.  This  is an old door painted my favorite color , sage green, with Mercer platters on it.
Buttons really speak to me. I love the different shapes and colors!!! and the jars, so cool!!!

I'm not sure about this piece but I sure loved it and new it would fit in perfect in my scrappy space.  It now houses all of my Jenni Bowlin goodies!!!

This old utility scale is the perfect shelf for these old salt and pepper shakers.  I have many more than this photo shows and they have glitter in them~all different colors!!!! So inspiring!!!!!

Old doors and hardware are at the top of my "way cool stuff" list.  I love to decorate with them and have them all over my home ~ painted green of course!!

This one lives in the pantry.  This was a regular size door and hubby cut it down the middle to make this wall hanging for kitchen stuff!! I just love it~

and last is this very cool toy dump truck!!!  I made a matching game and put it in the bed of the truck .  The "grands" enjoy playing with the cards!!!
Thanks for stopping by and leave me a comment and tell me about your cool stuff .

Try it Tuesday!

Hi everyone!!!! I have two cool things to show you today ~ hopefully inspire you to try them.  I have done these very cool tags for heART of Scrapbooking and I love them but they were getting messed up in my box and no one could see them either.   I had this decorative hanger that I found on sale in my scrappy room  and so I tied the tags on it and it is now hanging on a hook in my scrappy room.  I can enjoy the tags and they are staying "fabulous"!!!!

The second cool thing is this!!!! A friend was visiting me last week and she showed me how to do these with the Tim Holtz alcohol inks and corsage pins~
just by dipping the tips of the pins into the inks and then letting them dry, you will get this fabulous, vibrant color!!! So easy and a "wow" effect for your scrapbooking projects and crafts!  Hope will give this a try and much thanks for stopping by!!!

Update~I have had a lot of inquires about how to make this pin cushion.  You can go HERE to find a tutorial on the one I made~cm

Shadow Box Cowboy Style

Hi everyone!!!! Glad you stopped in today.  This a custom shadow box I did for a client Sunday evening.  It's just like scrapbooking but on a bigger scale!!! I used some awesome Helmar 450 Stainless adhesive that I got at CraftCrossing.  This glue is so strong it didn't want to budge a bit.  It worked great on the paper elements.  I drilled holes in the backing and tied the buckle and horse hair to the backing.  Worked very well.  I had a great time designing this and look forward to doing more of these.

use it as a decor piece.......

A new spin on a double layout!!! What I did here was frame the title page of a double layout , to make it a decor piece for my home.  I added some fabulous Primas, buttons and greenery to the corner of the frame after I covered the flat part of the frame with pattern paper.  Here is a close-up of the Prima cluster !!!

This is part of a double layout I will be teaching at CraftCrossing tomorrow!!!I have gotten away from doing two-pagers but with this idea I will be doing more of them!!   Hope to see you tomorrow ~ give Pam a call!!!  Her shop is full of crafty goodies ~ really!!!

Try it Tuesday

I'm running late again!!!  I have been creating with a good friend and time just got away from me, but Tuesday is not over yet ~ so here we go.   I love using Picasa 3 photo editing free software.  I can change color to black and white and even highlight certain parts of the picture, like I did here with the pumpkin. I'm kinda of computer challenged when it comes to photo editing but I love playing around with this software.  It makes me feel so SMART!!!!!!   If you don't know about this ~ try it!!! You will have tons of fun and if you are like me learn a thing or two along the way!!!! Have a great Tuesday!!!!
