Memories Room

I took a few pic's last night of my "scrappy" space and thought I would show you how I get inspired to scrap, this is one way!! I surround myself in things that I love-I see beauty in this!! I also get inspired by my "grands". They are the best, every one of them. Such neat little people. Also where I live. We have so much nature going on around us all the time. I try to capture as much of it as I can!!! What inspires you to create-let me know!!!

Week 4/ C. Hellmuth Class

Week four already soon to be week five tomorrow. This project was so fun and amazing, yes amazing. I transferred my Pink Paislee pattern paper to the sticky back canvas and it has the look and feel of canvas!!! I used some Claudine Hellmuth gloss medium on the surface and then tinted my photo with her paints. This is a really neat project especially when you have a "way cool' photo like this to use!! Have a great day and do something Crafty!

Try this Tuesday

I love this layout!! It has all the elements which I "adore". My mother, her knitting and a "vintage goody" on it. My challenge to you is to scrap a layout with a "vintage goody" on it, a piece of history, something you would never think about putting on a layout. Get your thinking caps on-let me know what you came up with!!!

Saturday Sketch

Here is a quick card to give you a project for today. I used a transparency sheet to cover my pattern paper. I added my embellishments to the outside of the transparency. I stamped the sentiment on the outside front and on the inside. You can also make it without using a transparency, just follow the sketch and make it your own. I used some October Afternoon scraps, Primas and my cool new "Tim Holtz" die!!!

Kid ART!!

Hi everyone-here is a layout I did with my granddaughters art work. I love putting these little pieces of "gems" on my layouts. I feel like I saved one more piece of art when I do. So cute!! I hope you will try this - I call it - "Save your kids Art campaign". Hope you join the campaign!!! Have a great day and be "crafty"!!!

Try this Tuesday

Hi everyone-this is another example of how you can switch up a sketch , like this one
You can also use the layout sketch to make a card. I used that same sketch and did a couple of cards!! I love sketches - they are a good starting point when you don't know where to start. I hope you will give this a try and let me know how it works for you. Thanks for stopping by and have a "crafty" day!!!

heART of Scrapbooking is here!!

I am so excited to share with you a new scrapbooking site and a new product. Debby Lewis of Debby's Dare has opened a new "scrappy site" with a store. She has developed some very cool "vintage tags" and I was lucky enough to get a set to work with. The layout is an example of using the transparency tags on a scrapbook page.
Here are the other tags made up with embellishments ready to use on a layout or a gift tag. I love the images she used but then I love all 'vintage"
goodies!!!

I added some Jenni Bowlin goodies and loved how they came out!! You can find these tags and other "fun scrappy stuff" at heART of Scrapbooking.

I hope you will visit her site and leave her a comment that I sent you. I hear there is going to be prizes!!! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!! Be crafty!!

Saturday Sketch

What a great way to start Saturday with a "scrappy" sketch. If you are local I will be teaching at Craft Crossing at 2:00 in Gonzales. This is the sketch that we will be putting our photos on and using our favorite paper!!! The top layout is my interpretation of the sketch. That is why I love working with sketches-you can flip them top to bottom or left to right, take off or add on and it's all up to you!!! Let me know if you are interested in "Sketch Saturday" and I will start putting up sketches to keep you busy on Saturday!!

Try this Tuesday

I got to thinking about what I would have you try this week and came up with this. Instead of using stickers to embellish your project-why not cut the images out of the pattern paper!!!
The paper set I'm using is by Kaiser/K-Bots - just loved the little robot guys!! Perfect for a birthday banner for our "grand"!!!

Then I thought-tags!!! So I cut more images out and made tags, for his presents. So cute, right.

And last the card-so I cut out the rest of the "little robot" guys and made birthday cards-didn't use one sticker. I did add a few buttons and brads!!! Hope you give a try and have a great Tuesday!!!

Cars.....all about cars

This is so cute and fun to do. Take your round die cut paper and cut the middle out of it and then wet the edges and curl it up. Adds so much dimension to your project. I'm using Kraft Kuts and Bazzill on this layout. I love the shot of his cute, little hands!!!! I love scrapbooking with buttons and this is a perfect layout to use them on. Thanks for stopping by and have a "wonderful" day!!

Try this Tuesday

This is a very fun project to do with your scrappy friends! Go to the dollar store and get one of the big puzzles and swap pieces with your scrappy friends. Everyone style is different and what you get is a cool piece of "art" and tons of fun also. Have each person tell how they would like their puzzle done-as in fave colors, style-cowboy, shabby etc. This swap should take a few months. Hope you give it a try!!!
